Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 689: Madam Has Given Birth
After hearing Franklin Sutton’s words, Shane Warner immediately objected, "No."
Franklin Sutton: "Brother-in-law, don’t rush into it. We will ensure it’s perfectly safe before letting Audrey meet her. I certainly wouldn’t risk my own sister and my soon-to-be-born nephew, right?"
Audrey Sutton asked, puzzled, "I don’t know her. Why does she want to see me?"
Franklin Sutton: "I’m curious too, which is why I called you here. You just need to show up in the interrogation room, see what she really wants to say."
Audrey Sutton turned her head to glance at Shane Warner, as if seeking his opinion, but his expression clearly showed disagreement.
Franklin Sutton tried to convince them, "Don’t worry, she has shackles on her hands and feet. All she can do is sit there and talk. I’m just looking for a way to end this, convict her, and get her locked up so everyone can be at ease."
Audrey Sutton pursed her lips and nodded, deciding for herself, "Alright, I’ll go talk to her."
Shane Warner frowned, and Audrey Sutton comforted him by holding his hand, "There won’t be any trouble. Trust my second brother."
Upon reaching the interrogation room, Catherine Porter demanded everyone leave, allowing only Audrey Sutton to stay inside, and asked to turn off all communication devices and surveillance cameras.
Franklin Sutton agreed to Catherine Porter’s request.
Next to the interrogation room was a small window. The group gathered by the window, watching the situation inside, unable to hear what they were saying.
Audrey Sutton evaluated Catherine Porter and was the first to speak, "Miss Porter, feel free to say whatever you want."
Catherine Porter donned a mocking smile, "It’s nothing really; I just wanted to see what kind of despicable face the person who killed my sister has."
Audrey Sutton chuckled, "Doing all sorts of heinous deeds while calling others despicable, Miss Porter, you truly are amusing."
Catherine Porter: "People do things, and heaven watches. Don’t rush, Audrey Sutton; I’ll be waiting for you on the other side of hell."
Audrey Sutton: "Miss Porter, you seem confused. You’re the one who’s been caught for your crimes, so don’t pretend to be righteous. Your sister committed suicide, so don’t use her name for vengeance to justify your acts. I fear in hell, she won’t thank you for what you’ve done."
Catherine Porter’s smile gradually faded, glaring at Audrey Sutton with hatred, "Why did my sister commit suicide? Wasn’t it because you forced her? You will pay for this, Audrey Sutton; you’ll never find happiness in your life."
Audrey Sutton frowned and said coolly, "My baby is scared. If you don’t have anything important to say, I’m afraid I can’t chat with you any longer, Miss Porter."
Catherine Porter suddenly smiled again, her tone relaxed as she gazed at Audrey Sutton, "Alright, let’s talk about something interesting, like... the photo in your brother’s wallet isn’t of his beloved woman but of his own sister. Do you think this behavior is strange, or is it that the sister is actually the brother’s beloved woman?"
Audrey Sutton furrowed her brows in confusion, "What are you trying to say?"
Catherine Porter smiled, "You probably don’t know what your fifth brother has in his mind, do you?"
Audrey Sutton chuckled, "Are you implying my fifth brother likes me? Just because he has my photo in his wallet? Miss Porter, you must have read too many novels."
Catherine Porter: "Believe it or not, maybe it’s better if you ask your fifth brother personally."
Audrey Sutton seemed to find her words amusing, saying to Catherine Porter, "Could it be that your fifth brother likes you if he doesn’t like me? He doesn’t have a girlfriend, and I’m the only sister he grew up with. Does it bother you that he has my photo in his wallet? If you’re trying to instigate, Miss Porter, you’re far from matching your sister’s tricks!"
Audrey Sutton stood up, walked a few steps, and then turned back to say to Catherine Porter with a smile, "You better learn from your sister; your brain is not as good as hers."
As Audrey Sutton stood up, Shane Warner immediately opened the door, pulling Audrey Sutton in front of him and asking with concern, "What did she say to you?"
Audrey Sutton: "Just some nonsense without any substance, probably her last words of anger."
Shane Warner: "Are you alright?"
Audrey Sutton rested in the crook of his arm, frowning, "Yes, the baby is stirring inside again."
Shane Warner: "Want to sit for a bit?"
Audrey Sutton shook her head, "Let’s go home, stop by the supermarket."
Shane Warner nodded in agreement, "Alright, let’s go."
The days of early spring were getting warmer.
The flowers planted in the yard were growing nicely. When he had time, Shane Warner put in many facilities for children to play in the garden; it was almost like a little playground.
Three months later.
In the increasingly hot July.
The family area outside the delivery room was crowded with people, most of them surnamed Sutton.
Audrey Sutton had been in the delivery room for two or three hours, and aside from the soon-to-be father Shane Warner, the other brothers were eagerly waiting.
The timing was perfect; the eldest was on summer break, the second and fifth were on vacation, the third and fourth were mostly home, and the sixth was quite free.
Norman Sutton had lost count of how many times he looked through the small window on the delivery room door, impatiently muttering, "Must be giving birth to a Nezha, still not out yet."
Hazel Yates raised her hand and slapped him, "Sit over there!"
Shane Warner seemed not to hear the noise around him. Normally calm, even he showed rarely seen signs of anxiety.
Especially thinking about how Audrey Sutton looked before entering the delivery room, pale-faced and sweating from pain, unable to speak; he truly wished he could bear it for her.
Finally, they saw a doctor coming out of the delivery room, and a bunch of people hurriedly gathered around.
"Relatives of Holly Tanner." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Hearing it wasn’t Audrey Sutton, the group regretfully dispersed and returned to their seats.
Shane Warner couldn’t help asking, "Doctor, how is Audrey Sutton now?"
The doctor evidently recognized Shane Warner and knew of Audrey Sutton’s unique identity, smiling and answering, "Madam has given birth, a natural delivery, it’s a little young master. She’s still inside feeding, and will be moved to the ward shortly."
Upon hearing the doctor’s words, Shane Warner finally felt relieved but, without having seen Audrey Sutton and the child, he couldn’t help but worry, especially wanting to be by Audrey Sutton’s side now.
After explaining things to Holly Tanner’s relatives, the doctor then told Shane Warner and the others, "Soon Mum will be taken directly by the surgical elevator to the ward. Some of you could go down first, as the child should be carried out shortly too."
Hazel Yates said, "I’ll go down; otherwise, if no one’s in the ward, Audrey will feel misplaced."
Shane Warner immediately said, "Mom, you stay here; I’ll go meet Audrey."
Hazel Yates: "How could the father go? At least wait to see the child first."
Shane Warner: "I think Audrey needs me more right now. You, mom, are more experienced in holding the baby. Seeing the baby a bit earlier or later doesn’t matter; it’s not going anywhere."
Saying that, Shane Warner was already walking out, while Hazel Yates shook her head, teasingly saying, "Fortunately, the baby is small and doesn’t know this yet; otherwise, it might resent this father."
