  Chapter 6 The Pretty Widow

Fortunately, Du Fei had eaten and seen it before he crossed. Facing Widow Qin's charm attack, he wouldn't be greedy.

Instead, a heavy cough came from Widow Qin's house.

A window was raised slightly, revealing half of the face of a fat old lady, who was Pretty Widow's mother-in-law.

Qin's widow's family name is Jia.

Du Fei knew that this old goddess was not easy to mess with.

Logically, Du Fei was only nineteen years old, and he was eleven years behind Widow Qin, so Mrs. Jia didn't think of anything filthy.

But Du Fei changed his outfit, and Granny Jia didn't see him, only saw his daughter-in-law and a tall young man, talking, laughing, and moving hands and feet.

How can I bear this! Immediately sound a warning.

Widow Qin was still unfinished. Although it was only a moment, it was only a few words, which made her feel very relaxed and interesting.

glanced at the mother-in-law in the room, and there was a trace of sadness in her heart.

"Aunt Jia is at home." Du Fei greeted with a smile.

Granny Jia realized that this dog-like man was actually a boy from the Du family in the backyard.

He breathed a sigh of relief and slammed down the window.

In her opinion, Du Fei is just a little brat, and in any case, she doesn't look down on widow Qin's broken flowers and willows.

But he didn't know that Du Fei was quite old before he crossed, and widow Qin was considered young and beautiful in his eyes.

Widow Qin was a little embarrassed, and she didn't want to gossip with Du Fei anymore. She was about to go to wash clothes, but Du Fei stopped her: "Sister Qin, do you have a sewing machine at home?"

Widow Qin asked back with an "um", "Do you want to use it?"

"Look at what you said, how could I use that thing." Du Fei smiled and said: "It's not going to be winter, and my bedding won't work, so I simply replaced it with a new one."

Widow Qin had a surprised expression on her face.

In these years, it is not easy to change a set of quilts and bedding. The cotton ticket alone can make countless people stumped. Making a new quilt is a dowry for the new daughter-in-law!

Du Fei actually said that he should change, this is not a local tyrant, but a prodigal.

Widow Qin's only kindness in her heart made a trace of pity flash in her eyes.

Du Fei didn't know yet, but in Widow Pretty Widow's heart, he was already equated with the prodigal son, and continued to say: "Sister Qin, it's a pity to replace that set of bedding and throw it away. I thought about washing it and changing it to cotton curtains and hanging on the windows and doors."

Widow Qin rolled her eyes and heard what Du Fei told him.

However, changing the bedding into cotton curtains, including washing and changing, is not a small project.

This pretty widow usually speaks beautifully in the courtyard and is very enthusiastic about what each family has to do, but she will never do anything in vain.

Du Fei didn't want to call her for nothing, and quickly said: "Sister Qin, don't worry, I won't let you work in vain, fifty cents."

Pretty Widow's eyes lit up, and she was even more certain that Du Fei was a little prodigal.

Although this job is tedious, in the final analysis, it is to remove and wash the quilt. According to her calculations, it would be done with 30 cents, but Du Fei actually gave 50 cents as soon as he opened his mouth.

He simply stopped washing his clothes, so Qin Huairu immediately went home to get a ruler, and was about to rush to the backyard with Du Fei.

Who knew that as soon as he turned around, he was stopped by someone: "Hey! Sister Qin, you are..."

As he spoke, a man with unkempt hair, wearing a dirty green padded jacket, and a greasy face walked out of the main room in the middle courtyard.

This person is the cook who often brings leftovers to Widow Qin.

The family name is He, and his name is He Dazhu, and everyone in the courtyard is called Zhuzi.

He didn't have a mother in his early years. Ten years ago, his father ran away with another woman, and he was the only one left to pull a younger sister to grow up. He didn't marry a daughter-in-law when he was almost thirty.

Over the years, he has thought a lot about Widow Qin. Although he didn't say it, he was sure in his heart that he regarded Widow Qin as a prisoner.

Suddenly found that Widow Qin was in a hurry, as if she was going to follow a little white face, she immediately became vigilant, opened her eyes wide, and stared at Du Fei

"Brother Zhuzi, I beg Sister Qin to help me." Du Fei laughed.

The cook was stunned for a moment, looked up and down, and then recognized: "Fuck~ Are you Du Fei?"

Widow Qin couldn't wait for them to gossip any more, so she turned her head and glared at the cook: "Xiao Du has something to do, talk to you later." In a hurry, Du Fei was dragged away.

Today is Sunday, the old ladies in the courtyard are all at home, who can’t take apart and wash a quilt.

Widow Qin was afraid that she would be robbed of her 50 cents work.

Seeing Widow Pretty and Du Fei get into the Moon Gate, He Dazhu scratched the back of his head embarrassingly, but didn't think much of it.

Du Fei was ten years apart from him and Widow Qin, and they were not the same generation at all.

found that the little white face was Du Fei, so he released his vigilance, hummed a little tune, swayed, and walked out of the courtyard.

Du Fei followed behind Widow Pretty and went straight to his door.

The door was unlocked, but Widow Qin had a sense of restraint, so she stepped aside and let Du Fei open the door and enter the house.

The original broken kang seat was long ago thrown away by Du Fei, and the kang was bare and rolled up with a bed.

Widow Qin worked really easily. When she asked where the cotton curtains were to be hung, she immediately raised her legs on the kang, pouted her big buttocks, measured a ruler, and recorded while saying, "You can rest assured that this work is handed over to my sister. I'll get it right for you soon."

Du Fei stood on the ground generously, watching the pretty widow busy, waiting for her to measure the size, and looked at the roll of bedding: "I will take you to the middle courtyard?"

Widow Qin glanced at him and pouted: "Don't bother, you'll stain your new little leather jacket again."

As he spoke, he lifted his hair, inserted a bamboo ruler into the collar of the back of his neck, and sturdily picked up the heavy roll of bedding and left.

After the pretty widow left, Du Fei closed the door and came back, also changed his clothes and started to get busy.

First, he took a broom and swept off all the debris on the kang, but due to disrepair over time, more and more debris was swept away. Du Fei was also very helpless, so he had to spread the newly purchased kang mat.

The kang mat I bought this time was not made of bamboo, but made of reeds.

Reed mats are not as durable as bamboo mats, but they are more comfortable to use and not so cold in winter.

I went to light the stove again, heated the kang, and then spread the newly bought quilt flat on the kang to dry it thoroughly.

The quilts bought from the department store, although they are new, are kept in the warehouse and have been pressed for some time, so they are inevitably damp.

Du Fei finished this, and went to the outhouse to gather the remaining briquettes and firewood.

It was almost winter, and there was definitely not enough leftovers in his house to burn, so he had to go back and buy more.

There is also a need to prepare food at home. Even if there is no shortage of money, it is impossible to always go to restaurants to eat. First, the food stamps cannot be paid for, and secondly, the impact is not good. After all, in this era, how can serious people be? There are always people who don't cook at home.

While working in Du Fei, he was thinking about how to live in the future when there was a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" Du Fei responded and looked up.

"Comrade Du Fei, I'm Sun Qiang." A well-dressed, honest-looking young man pushed open the door and walked in: "My dad asked me to deliver something."

Du Fei didn't expect Director Sun to act so fast, and he would send the money ticket the next day.

"It's Brother Sun, please, look at my mess." Du Fei smiled and clapped the soot on his hands, took off his work coat, washed his hands in the washbasin, and invited Sun Qiang to the back room.
