My Favorite Game Followed Me!-Chapter 645
Chapter 645
Anton felt like his life had turned into a real-life game with him playing nonstop. Casting his spells against the undead horde in the hopes that his efforts, together with the other wizards from their side, would whittle the undead horde that kept coming with what seemed like to be an endless deluge of water. The big difference was, there was a chance that the game would be fatal.
According to Captain Nando, even though Anton kept telling his captain that he was not interested in the numbers, many wizards and warriors had already died. It was a tragedy that he did not want to know about. He knew that it was a sign of his immaturity, but Anton did not want to receive anything negative and just wanted to focus on the battle in front of him.
At least with an actual tsunami, one could expect an end. With the undead armies that the Coalition kept throwing at them, Anton wondered if the powerful enemy spellcasters could conjure undead from nothing, seemed it felt like it the undead monsters were unending.
Based on his personal record, Anton could continue casting his spells at peak performance for a total of five days without sleep and just depending on the Vigor Aura, but more than that, he could still go on, but mistakes tend to happen. He did not want those mistakes to occur because they could be fatal. Besides, because of his Pearl of the Ocean magic item, he only requires a few hours of sleep, and after that, he is good to go for another five days.
After another five days of continuous battle against the undead, with their side getting pushed back towards New Drennor, Anton teleported back in the middle of the temporary camp that their side kept building in the back line. He informed his Captain that he needed rest, and since he was one of the very few who kept on going for days at a time, his request was immediately approved. He teleported away from the battle into a secluded forest and then used one of his Town Portal scrolls.
Anton wanted to return to Rose Manor to assure his family that he was still alive since Captain Nando told him that the information that the original fortified camp had already fallen was already disseminated back into Ormunda.
Once he was back in his room in the Rose Manor, he immediately cast the Blizzard spell, turned into Mana Rain towards the garden and the orchard, and the mini field between them. As expected, after just a minute, he heard a knock on his door.
The moment Anton said that it was open, the first one who entered was Anders, followed by Raymond, then everyone else, for that matter.
Anton’s father hugged him fiercely.
“Thank the divines you’re alright. We received news that the fortified camp had fallen, and every day, we kept receiving news of wizards who had fallen in the fight with the undead army. I wanted to rush to the New Drennor to look for you!”
“I’m glad that you didn’t do that. The undead armies are really humongous, and if you encounter them, I’m sure that you’ll die.”
“I don’t think so. I can teleport, remember,” Anders told his son, referring to the ability that was inscribed in his Enigma runeword armor.
Anton rolled his eyes.
“Since you’re confident that you can escape with your Teleport skill from your armor, why do you think I couldn’t do the same since I have the same skill?”
“I’m aware of that, that’s why I didn’t go.”
After that brief conversation, since there were a lot of people, they all went to one of the manor’s salons overlooking the garden. Luna and Alfred hugged him first, though, while fiercely saying that they were glad that he was alright.
“I told you guys that it’s going to be quite difficult to kill me,” Anton assured them while he hugged the siblings back.
When they arrived at the salon, Anton told the family the situation that was happening with the fight against the undead horde. He did not hide anything, including the fact that the Undead Coalition managed to create more portals that led to Rendindura, which made their ability to summon more undead seem unending.
“We are still fighting while we’re being pushed towards New Drennor,” Anton continued.
“Our side kept on losing,” Alfred whispered, but everyone heard the kid.
“Just remember, son, if you need to escape, don’t hesitate,” Anders informed Anton.
Anton then ate food that Ms. Noria brought and then told his father and everyone else that he needed to sleep since he had been fighting the undead for five days straight.
Anders gasped and told Anton that it might be better for him not to return to the fight and just stay in Ormunda. If New Drennor fell, then they could fight the undead to defend Ormunda.
“I don’t just want to leave, Father. I’ll fight for a few more days. I’m quite sure that soon, we will receive a command to retreat fully. After that, I can go home. It’s simple enough for me to return here immediately,” Anton told his father.
Anton slept for a total of four hours. When he woke up, he talked to his father again for an hour before he decided to return to the fight.
“My Paladin’s class is already level 34. My current build is built around the Fist of Heaven skill. I thought about experimenting with the melee skills of the Paladin since they looked very powerful, but I’m still enjoying the overpowered skill. The bolt from the heavens that damages the enemies greatly and then explodes in a multitude of Holy Bolt is too awesome to let go for now,” Anders said excitedly.
Anton thought that his father looked like a gamer experimenting with character builds.
“You can do whatever you want with your build since you can reset it once a week.”
“I know. My men kept looking at me the way they used to look at powerful, supreme wizards. It’s fun and weird at the same time,” Anders laughed.
“Once Anna has a chance to return home, you can give her the notes on the different characters, since in a few months, I can also assign a class to her.”
Anders laughed again, excitedly, and he knew that his father would review the notes again, so he could share his knowledge of the character classes with Anna. They needed to wait until she returned home, though, since the information was too sensitive to be mailed to her, since they’re sure that any letters they send would be read by her teachers.
“What do you think she’ll choose?” Anders asked.
“Probably the Sorceress class, but I’ll let her decide. I need to go now, Father.”
‘You’re right. Based on what I’d seen, the Telekinesis spell is a spell she wanted to get a hold of for some time now, since it would allow her to fly freely.”
Anton just sighed, then repeated that he needed to leave. Anders sighed as well and allowed his son to go.
Thankfully, when he reentered the portal, it seemed like no one noticed his portal. He immediately dispelled it and went to the temporary camp.
“Good, you’re here. The back line will be pushed back to New Drennor in about twenty more days. The higher-ups decided that instead of wasting our resources and our men here, we’ll just go to New Drennor and prepare ourselves to defend the kingdom.”
Anton agreed with that decision. Soon, everyone started their journey to New Drennor. It was an extremely fast journey since everyone used their skills to hastily go to the port kingdom.
