My Favorite Game Followed Me!-Chapter 679
Chapter 679
Anton started walking the streets of New Drennor, thinking of what he should do next. The next ladder season was a couple of months away. The only thing he could do inside his Diablo II system was hunt for better gear and better charms, but the increase in power that would give was limited. He had already started hunting for the best end-game gear for all characters; still, he could only wear a maximum of two sets. One inside the game and one outside the game.
The best thing that would let him increase his power through his Diablo II system was the update. That usually happens with major events, though, and for now, the only major event that would happen in his Diablo II system was the ladder season. Anton was hoping that if an update would come next season, it would be a major one that would give him more power.
He could start exploring the magic system of this world since it appeared that he was also compatible with it, but it was such a major undertaking that he felt exhausted just thinking about it. Anton knew for a fact that it would only work if he felt excited or invigorated on a specific project, and right at that moment, exploring this world's magic system was not it.
Anton then thought of joining a magic academy, like some sort a Harry Potter wannabe, but he felt like he was too old to do something like that. He knew that if he did join such an institution, more than likely, the teachers there would allow him to be accelerated until he became a teacher or a teaching assistant, but he did not feel like doing something like that.
He then realized he was doing something negative again. Anton was pressuring himself. His goal was to become powerful enough to contend with the Undead Coalition in Rendindura, but he would not be able to do it in such a short amount of time. It had only less than a couple of years since he transmigrated, and if he was being honest, it felt like a lifetime.
Anton thought that he had earned the right to rest. A few months of just idling about and being a young man that he was would not hurt anyone and would probably be healthy. He could explore things that interested him, like involving himself in what he loved most, which was being an otaku. He could introduce his acquaintance to the magic of more movies or anime. Or even the novels. He wished he had the know-how to invent computers, so he could introduce gaming, but then he thought of something that was probably much more valid than trying to invent computers. It would be trying to find a bridge that would let him travel to Earth and back, so he could bring some technology back.
That thought invigorated him a little. With his Diablo II system, he should not limit his imagination. Everything in this world was possible. First, he needed to rest. He suddenly felt tired. When he reached a park, he tried to look for a location that would not be discovered easily by pedestrians, and when he did, he used a town portal scroll. The moment he was back in his room in the Rose Manor, he immediately dispelled the portal.
Doing such a thing meant he would not be able to easily return to New Drennor. If he wanted to do so, he would need to manually travel there, and with the undead armies between Ormunda and New Drennor, it would be a little difficult. Of course, he could use spells to avoid the eyes of the undead, but with powerful semi-divine and even divine rank lichs, there was a chance that he would be captured. Again, he did not want to be turned into an undead wizard. That meant no returning to New Drennor for now.
If there was truly a need to travel to New Drennor, Anton did not doubt that the powerful Ormunda wizards had ways, so he just shrugged and took a bath. He did not inform anyone that he was back. He wanted to wallow in his laziness first, so once he was done bathing, he put a comfortable sleepwear and buried himself in his bed. Thankfully, no one would disturb him since Raymond told him that no one would enter his room while he was away. Even the cleaning maid only cleaned his room once he arrived and left.
Once he was deep in his bed, Anton started watching short videos from the most famous short video platform on Earth. That platform was the reason why he was updated on the current politics, trends, and more of Earth. After a couple of hours of rotting his brain, he fell asleep.
Anton woke up in the evening and started behaving like an honest-to-goodness, useless otaku. He stayed in his bed reading web novels, watching anime, and entering his Diablo II system to hunt some gears a little, then returned to reading novels and watching movies, television shows, and anime. If he gets hungry, he would eat food from his inventory, and if he needed to use his bathroom, he would do so. He did not even bathe and simply used his cleaning spell to keep himself clean. At least with that spell, he could avoid stinking up his room. He could even clean his whole room without getting up from his bed.
After a couple of days living like a useless otaku, Anton was worried that he would get fat. Looking at his abs, he knew that it would not happen immediately since his physical stats were through the roof, and whenever he entered his Diablo II system to play, he felt like his body was getting the exercise he needed, which was a little illogical, since he was still in his bed. Even though it felt like he was in the Diablo II world personally, he knew that his physical body was in his bed.
He thought of the fact that he could do things inside the world of Diablo II, like create enchanted items while his physical body was in the real world, and more than likely, that magic was the one allowing his body to stay fit since he did a lot of physical activity inside his Diablo II system. It was truly illogical, and the only thing that he could think of was that systems were truly powerful. Instead of thinking more about such things, Anton returned to doing otaku things.
He read fantasy novels, watched anime, and more. His only regret was that he could not play computer games since his Diablo II system did not have that ability. He could play browser games, but those were such bad games that he only tried them out.
He would have liked to experience playing addictive games like the Elder Scrolls Series, the Witcher Series, or the Dark Souls series, including Elden Ring. Anton never had the opportunity to play such games when he was on Earth. He would have also liked to play fantasy online games like World of Warcraft.
Anton then remembered that he was in an actual, honest-to-goodness fantasy world. He did not need to play, but actually lived in it. After four days wallowing in his bed, he decided to explore the continent. The best part was, he could return home immediately using his Town Portal scroll.
He took a bath, cleaned his room using a cleaning spell, then cast the Blizzard spell that he turned into Mana Rain to summon Raymond. After a few minutes, there was a knock on his door, and Raymond entered, followed by his father, Luna, Alfred, Romina, Bruce, and Sarah.
