My Unrestrained Lives-Chapter 40: You Are Mine
While there things, Galen, didn’t help at. Ellis, knew that at least he helped with his training.
So could Ellis really say that the man didn’t look at him favorably at all?
As he started leaning toward the more hopeful side, that maybe he should ask him for help... Ellis suddenly remembered.
His attitude recently... hadn’t it changed?
Hadn’t it become colder?
Reaching this conclusion in the end, Ellis decided to delay making any decision.
He would wait and observe tomorrow’s situation.
And if he judged that there would be no problem with him, then he would ask Galen to look into his mother’s situation.
That’s aside. What about the situation he was currently in?
... How should he respond to this assassination attempt?
Dispose of the two maids in secret?
But would those behind them give up just because of that?
Wouldn’t they only become more cautious, more meticulous with their next plan?
While that was his initial thoughts, Ellis suddenly paused.
They were trying to poison an ordinary prince who still had not even turned five years old, after all.
But... was he ordinary?
It couldn’t be further from the truth.
So maybe the problem was smaller than he thought?
Maybe he was overreacting too intensely to it? 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Unable to reach a decision on his own, as this was his first time facing something like this, Ellis sought out the opinion of someone else.
’Aurora, what do you think?’
[If it’s a poison that requires a full month of continuous administration to kill an ordinary person, then it shouldn’t be capable of harming you at all.]
[Not to mention, you’d probably acquire a poison resistance skill during that time as well.]
Reading the answer Aurora gave, Ellis finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He realized he had been far too on edge. How could he have lost his cool to this extent?
Shaking his head, Ellis took a brief moment to calm himself down further, letting his thoughts settle. And finally, he made a decision.
If the poison wasn’t capable of killing him, and might even grant him a resistance skill... then he would go along with these two maids for now, acting as if he hadn’t noticed anything at all.
He would observe.
Wait and see how the situation developed.
And if his thinking was right, then he likely just needed to endure until the announcement of the crown prince.
That moment, he believed, would be a turning point.
A milestone.
After that, everything should begin resolving itself.
And if it didn’t... then once he reached the age of five, if they dared to cross his limit, he would shed all pretenses, boldly and completely.
With that finally out of his mind, Ellis turned his gaze toward Silas, who stood silently before him, and said calmly, "From now on, don’t leave the palace."
’My detection skill can cover just the palace, after all’ Ellis thought, before pausing briefly.
Then he shook his head and added, "Or you know what? Just stay by my side."
"And no matter what the head maid or anyone else says, you are my maid."
His eyes glowed faintly, his tone deep and resolute, leaving no room for debate.
He even emphasized it again, voice firm with unmistakable authority.
"My are mine, do you understand?"
Feeling the heavy possessiveness in her master’s voice, Silas blushed with happiness and softly replied, "Yes, I understand."
Feeling that he had finally finished settling one matter, Ellis turned to address the next.
He walked toward his bed, glanced back at Silas, and said plainly, "Take off your clothes and come lie here."
Silas blinked in surprise at what she heard.
At first she doubted her ears.
But as she looked at him, standing beside the bed, pointing directly at it with a calm expression... she realized she hadn’t misheard.
And so, her face flushed a deep red, the color creeping all the way up to her ears.
... But she didn’t hesitate.
Obediently, she began undressing.
Ellis, on the other hand, had been focused entirely on what he intended to do, so much so that it took him a moment to notice her reaction.
And once he did, he quickly came back to his senses, and so, not to cause any misunderstanding, he hurriedly clarified, "Don’t get the wrong idea. I just want to check your internal injury."
"Maybe I can help. And if your condition turns out to be manageable, it’s better to avoid mistakes, so doing it through your bare stomach is safer," Ellis hurriedly explained.
He, who had already developed his mana manipulation skill to a certain extent, thought that maybe, it was finally time to try to intervene in her problem.
And with the current circumstances, it would be better if she possessed some strength of her own.
So, he intended not only to heal her internal injury, but also, if possible, raise her power along the way.
... Was he flustered?
Was it because of the unexpected situation?
Or because of her reaction, the way she began stripping while clearly trying to hide her shame?
Unfortunately, Ellis didn’t catch the flicker of disappointment in her eyes.
And Silas continued undressing, not leaving a single piece of clothing on her body.
She tried to cover herself... but her efforts were far from effective.
With one arm, she attempted to shield her soft, generous breasts, but failed miserably, as one rosy pink bud peeked out past the crook of her elbow.
Her other hand hovered in front of her mound, trying in vain to obscure the delicate cleft between her legs.
And Ellis... simply watched.
He feasted his eyes on her every expression, on her lovely yet composed features, on the soft elegance of her hourglass figure.
And on her white, unblemished skin that seemed to glow faintly under the room’s light.
He couldn’t help but thank his luck. Thank the heavens...or whatever, that panties and bras had not yet been invented in this world.
... Even if they existed, had he asked her to remove them, would she have hesitated even for a second?
Most likely not.
But the context would have been different.
