New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 596: The worries for the magical creatures
"I hope you had your fun." Alhai stated flatly as soon as Zaque walked inside the kitchen, hair damp and covered in a new fresh set of clothing.
Zaque paused at the doorway, blinking owlishly.
"Yes, I totally did." The first husband hummed, continuing his way to the oven and opening it to reveal a now cold batch of cookies.
"Seriously?" Heiren narrowed his eyes, halting his stirring on the pot to flash Zaque a glare. "We all know that she was in no condition to be intimate with any of us, but you still pushed it on her?" 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Zaque placed the baking pan on the counter, grabbing his pair of gloves by the drawer.
"Considering that all of you slept with her because she wanted to.." Zaque began, making the three mediators flinch. ".. Should already let the three of you know that Coco didn’t get pushed to do anything with me."
The kitchen got quiet, the only sound that echoed through the room was when Quizen walked over to the door and closed it.
"Well? How is she now?" Quizen asked, deciding to not grill Zaque like Heiren and Alhai.
"She’s sleeping soundly." The first husband stated, pouring the chocolate chip cookies over the cookie jar. "I have to get back after I’m done with this though. She wanted to cuddle."
Zaque proceeded to walk over to the sink with the baking pan and started to wash it.
"Bring her to my room." The fourth husband mumbled, causing Zaque to pause washing the pan and turn to him with a raise of an eyebrow. "I won’t do anything with her. Can I have our wife in my room for tonight?"
The red haired mediator stared at the musician, eyeing him from head to toe with a scrutinizing gaze.
"Alright." Zaque agreed, returning his attention to the baking pan. "Clean your bed and make sure you have a water pitcher on your bedside table. I think I pushed her a little hard. She’ll probably wake up later feeling thirsty."
Quizen brightened up so hard that it felt like that room became illuminated with a bright light.
"I’ll go clean my bed now!" The mediator exclaimed and left the room, practically throwing the door open and almost pulling it out of its hinges.
The sound of Quizen’s footsteps echoed down the hall, heavy and hurried.
"If Coco still doesn’t feel like going out of bed by tomorrow, Alhai will have his turn tomorrow morning to take care of her and by evening, it will be Heiren’s." Zaque stated, establishing the plan for tomorrow regarding Coco.
"You have to go to work tomorrow." Alhai noted to himself, but voiced it out to let the other two mediators know. "Is that why you let Quizen have her tonight?"
"Yes, I have to leave early." Zaque confirmed, putting the baking pan by the dish rack.
"That explains it." Alhai mumbled, turning away from him and focusing on cutting the vegetables Heiren had asked him to cut.
Zaque grabbed the cookie jar and glanced at Alhai, only to pause when he saw what the mediator was doing. "Why are you the one cutting those? Where’s Richard?"
Alhai shrugged. "Haven’t seen him since the other night."
"I last saw him with Lala, but since then, I haven’t seen the two of them around the house." Heiren commented, adding to Alhai’s statement.
"What?" Zaque’s eyebrows shot up. "Coco hasn’t said anything about this?"
The two mediators froze and turned to him, their eyes wide, but it was Heiren who spoke up. "Isn’t that why she’s feeling down..? Because Lala left without saying anything?"
Alhai looked at Heiren. "I don’t think she was sad because Lala left."
"Then what?" Zaque urged Alhai, eyebrows furrowing in worry. "We haven’t seen those two for two days now. Shouldn’t that be the reason why Coco was upset?"
"No, I think Coco was upset because of mother." Alhai interjected, a look of realization crossing his features. "You were here yesterday morning."
"Yeah, I am." Zaque frowned. "But what does it have to do with anything about Coco?"
"Before we left the kitchen yesterday morning, Coco was confronting mother about something." Alhai pointed out, lifting the knife and bringing it down onto the carrot. "She sounded upset by that time."
"Did Coco have an argument with mom?" Heiren inquired, looking a little lost.
"It sounded like it at the time." Alhai stated, pausing on cutting and glancing at Heiren with a stink eye. "But I guess you wouldn’t know because you had a post-nut clarity."
Heiren flinched lightly, his face flushing with embarrassment. "S-She came onto me. I didn’t want to refuse her so I.."
"We know." Alhai and Zaque said in sync, rolling their eyes.
"Then don’t attack me!" Heiren hissed, fuming slightly for being cornered. "If Alhai couldn’t turn down Coco, then how could I?"
"Geez, alright." Alhai mumbled, resuming his duty. "Anyway, I’m assuming Coco had a disagreement with mother yesterday. Lala’s and Richard’s absence is a different matter."
The room got enveloped with silence, none of them know how to move forward without a lead regarding the two magical creatures.
"Have any of you tried to look at Richard’s room?" Zaque asked, breaking the silence.
"No, not yet." Heiren answered, sighing heavily.
"Uh, I did." A familiar voice said after Heiren’s answer, catching the attention of the three mediators inside the room and turning their heads to look at the direction where the voice came from.
"I checked.. Just now." Kairo mumbled, averting his gaze away from meeting any of their eyes.
"Really?" Zaque blinked, taken aback.
"Yes, but.. I can’t explain the situation.." The hybrid turned away, his face looking oddly pale. "I think it would be best if you come check out their state yourself, Zaque."
"Okay, hold on." Zaque stated and placed the cookie jar on the table.
"Just scream if you need help." Alhai called over Zaque’s shoulder. "Everyone inside the house will come running if you do so."
"Whatever." Zaque mumbled.
