Out of Control: Into Your Everything-Chapter 27: New Boyfriend?
Scarlett Shaw walks over.
Julian Ford: "That man, is he your new boyfriend?"
Scarlett Shaw: "No."
Julian Ford’s gaze drops, landing on her left hand hanging by her side. Suddenly, he leans forward, grips it with his large hand, and holds it in his palm, inspecting it for a moment.
"If he’s not your boyfriend, why let him hold your hand?"
Scarlett Shaw’s fingers instinctively tighten, but Julian Ford forcefully holds them.
The two intertwine their fingers.
It should’ve been an atmosphere filled with ambiguity and a move full of intimacy.
Scarlett Shaw only feels a chill.
Julian Ford: "Haven’t I told you before? Anything I’ve touched, before I get tired of it, no one else is qualified to touch."
Scarlett Shaw presses her lips tight, "President Ford, I am a human, not a cat, and not..."
The word "thing" doesn’t escape Scarlett Shaw’s lips.
She’s not to the point yet where she would insult herself.
Julian Ford naturally leads her to the Bentley, "Did you stay to tell me this?"
"Yes."
"Trying to draw a clear boundary with me?"
Scarlett Shaw raises her eyes, meeting Julian Ford’s calm gaze like still water.
Her eyes flickered.
"...Yes."
Julian Ford chuckles.
Though there are no waves in his eyes, Scarlett Shaw feels like there is an invisible giant hand dragging her into an abyss.
Julian Ford raises his hand, gently pinching her cheek like petting a small animal. Then, habitually wrapping around her neck, he pulls her closer and kisses the corner of her mouth.
"Scarlett Shaw, there’s no turning back in this world, nor any remedy for regret."
"Since the game has begun, if you want it to stop, then please me properly. Once I’m tired, I’ll let you go."
Scarlett Shaw’s pupils tremble.
Her eyes redden, and she suddenly opens her mouth, biting Julian Ford fiercely.
Julian Ford’s lip bleeds from her bite, yet his expression remains unchanged. He presses a finger against her lips, "Didn’t give you enough cat food?"
Scarlett Shaw pauses.
Even as blush rises in her cheeks, she curses: "Julian Ford, you really are shameless!"
Julian Ford hesitates.
He didn’t mean anything by the last statement, merely reflecting that she’s in too much debt. Maybe he should watch fewer dramas and help her more, at least solving the issues from her aunt’s family.
The rest can wait.
To prevent the cat from running again.
But Scarlett Shaw clearly took it another way.
Julian Ford wasn’t initially interested, but her misinterpretation made him raise an eyebrow.
He leads her by the hand to another place, whispering, "Your hand, from now on, can only touch me, understand?"
Scarlett Shaw’s palm trembles and becomes hot.
The streets are pretty crowded.
Julian Ford has tightened his coat, wrapping the small figure of Scarlett Shaw in his embrace.
She buries her face in his chest, only her ear tips are exposed, reminiscent of that night in his car, lying on him, seeking protection from him.
"That man, do you want to handle it yourself or do you need my help?"
Julian Ford murmurs into her ear.
Even though he speaks of helping, Scarlett Shaw clearly understands to what extent Julian Ford’s means might go.
"I’ll clarify things with Warren Hale. Julian Ford, don’t involve innocent people."
"He’s not innocent if he touched you."
Julian Ford’s voice holds no emotion, carrying a calm madness.
Scarlett Shaw returned home that night and messaged Warren Hale, saying they won’t be in contact anymore.
Warren Hale was silent for a while, "Are you still mad about today? I admit I didn’t consider things properly, ignoring your feelings. But I sincerely want to continue seeing you."
Scarlett Shaw: "Mr. Hale, you’re very nice. The problem is mine. I don’t plan on dating, sorry."
After saying that, she hung up the phone.
Then deleted Warren Hale’s contact information.
However, Scarlett Shaw clearly underestimated Warren Hale’s persistence. She didn’t expect that the next evening, Warren Hale would be waiting directly under her company.
Scarlett Shaw didn’t want to discuss such matters outside the office, so she followed Warren Hale into the car.
The car drove to the coastal street.
Scarlett Shaw parted her lips, ready to clarify things with Warren Hale, but he got out of the car, walked to the trunk, raised his hand, and the air was filled with the scent of roses.
"Scarlett, I like you. Would you be willing to date me?"
Warren Hale, wearing glasses with golden frames, smiled politely, his manners refined and courteous, and his expression sincere.
"I was abrupt yesterday, without a proper confession, making you feel offended. Now, can you seriously consider me?"
The atmosphere was romantic, and curious and envious looks from passersby surrounded them.
Scarlett Shaw only felt her scalp tingle.
Honestly, even without Julian Ford in the picture, she didn’t have feelings for Warren Hale. Being confessed to so suddenly makes her feel more awkward than joyful.
Warren Hale might be a good man to rely on.
But she wouldn’t be a suitable match.
The flickering lights reflected in Scarlett Shaw’s watery eyes.
In the distance, Julian Ford’s tall figure entered her sight.
He wore a black coat, almost blending with the night. Even just observing from afar, he was an awe-inspiring presence that stood out remarkably.
Scarlett Shaw closed her eyes, then opened them, calmly saying: "Sorry, Mr. Hale."
Warren Hale was unwilling, "Scarlett, I know you don’t have feelings for me now. But love can be cultivated, at least give me a chance."
A sincere confession isn’t wrong.
But she’s already refused multiple times, and despite her good temperament, she was becoming impatient.
"Mr. Hale, please don’t push it."
Scarlett Shaw’s brows slightly furrowed, her tone evidently displeased.
Yet her appearance was too soft, even when angry, it still softened the heart of others.
Warren Hale pursed his lips, remembering the introducer saying Scarlett Shaw’s temper was especially soft, being proactive might not be rejected.
So he boldly stepped forward, closing in on her.
A foreign aura approached, Scarlett Shaw sensed Warren Hale was about to embrace her.
She furrowed her brows, retreating as a familiar force gripped her hand.
Julian Ford pulls Scarlett Shaw to his side, expertly controlling her waist, casually saying: "Since he’s persistent, prove to him why you rejected him."
Scarlett Shaw clenches her fist.
A moment later, she turns to embrace Julian Ford, kissing his chin.
Then she looks at Warren Hale and reveals an apologetic smile.
Warren Hale’s pupils quake, momentarily stunned in place, "You, you have a boyfriend, then why meet with me, you lied to me!"
Scarlett Shaw remained silent.
Julian Ford calmly said: "Between men and women, there can be other relationships besides romantic ones."
Warren Hale stared at Scarlett Shaw in disbelief.
Scarlett Shaw felt more embarrassed than he did.
Embarrassed to the point that she couldn’t stay another second, she simply shook off Julian Ford’s hand and turned to leave.
Julian Ford didn’t immediately follow, instead he glanced at Warren Hale, casually saying: "President Sutton from Rysia just spoke to me last week about cooperation."
The boss recently requested cooperation only with Veridian.
In an instant, Warren Hale understood the identity of the man in front of him.
The full face of rage suddenly turned into humbling pleas, "President Ford, I was blind, truly sorry. Today’s events were all accidental, nothing happened."
Julian Ford ignored him, turned, and left.
He wasn’t concerned about whether this relationship would be known by others.
But evidently, today just a few casual words in front of others made Scarlett Shaw bristle, unable to endure.
Must soothe her first.
After all, teasing the cat is also a kind of fun.
Scarlett Shaw ran straight to the seaside, plopping down on the sand.
The sea breeze hit her face, carrying the salty smell of the ocean, like tears.
Julian Ford approached with his hands in his pockets, leisurely walking towards her.
