Pampered by My Ex's Cousin-Chapter 64 Reluctant Cohabitation (Part 10)
Then she kept running.
"Ah!"
One of them got hit by her shoe and let out a cry of pain, but he wasn’t annoyed, instead he grabbed her shoe and quickened his pace to chase her, "Girl, now you’ve really pissed us off."
The footsteps of those guys sounded closer and closer; Ji Anning’s heart was pounding so hard it felt like it might jump out. She kept running, all the while scanning her surroundings.
In the middle of nowhere, only the village not far off had lights. Barefoot, she could only run in that direction.
"Beauty, don’t run."
In a matter of minutes, those people caught up to her, and one of them grabbed her arm.
She jerked free with brute force, "Get lost!"
Then she turned around, facing away from the guys and took several steps back in retreat.
She was right in front of them, but the guys didn’t rush anymore; they slowly closed in.
Three guys, about her age, with ridiculously dyed hair, walking with exaggerated swagger; they were obviously troublemakers.
Ji Anning swallowed hard, trying to appear calm, "My friend is already on his way to pick me up, I warn you to beat it."
Her phone was vibrating; she gripped it tightly, not daring to answer, pulling her hand behind her.
Firstly, she feared the call might be from Yang Yufang, and secondly, if she answered, these guys would definitely snatch her phone.
"Really? Your friend is coming? Perfect, we can all hang out together."
The group of young men patiently ’accompanied’ her footsteps, smiles of contorted arrogance on their faces.
They were resolved to succeed.
’Boom!’
Suddenly, the sound of a motorcycle approached from behind, increasingly loud, but with no headlights.
Ji Anning’s eyes lit up, like she had seen a beacon of light in the darkness. No matter who it was, as long as they weren’t with these thugs, there was hope.
She turned around with a hopeful attitude.
Just then the motorcycle came to her side and, with a thunderous rumble, stopped.
A man with a helmet got off the bike.
"Darling."
Without thinking, Ji Anning rushed forward, grabbed the man’s arm, tilted her head back, and her bright eyes desperately signaled for help.
Under the helmet, a pair of narrow phoenix eyes gazed at Ji Anning, sinisterly curved.
He extended his hand, his long fingers teasing Ji Anning’s chin, "Sweetheart."
That voice...
Ji Anning’s eyes widened in astonishment... excitement... joy... to ecstasy.
"Qi..."
Before Ji Anning could fully say "Mr. Qi," Qi Helian suddenly wrapped his hand around her slender waist, cutting off her speech, "Sweetheart, are these guys your friends?"
Ji Anning: "..."
If they knew each other, was there any need for this charade?
She frowned and struggled a bit, but Qi Helian held her too tightly, and she couldn’t break free.
The main thing was to get rid of these hooligans, so she stopped struggling.
"You’re her friend?"
Among the young thugs, the leader tilted his chin up arrogantly, scrutinizing Qi Helian.
He could tell that neither Qi Helian nor Ji Anning were locals.
"Yes, want to get acquainted with me?" Qi Helian nodded and then took his time removing his helmet, bent down, and moved closer to them, with a face so handsome it would make any woman blush, his smile wicked and charming.
To make sure they saw clearly, he took out his phone, switched on the flashlight, and shone it on his own face.
One of the young men recognized him at a glance, "This... this is my girlfriend’s idol, Qi Helian."
