Plunder-Chapter 284: Finding Qiao En
In the hospital room, Zheng Gang lay unconscious.
He had shown signs of drug poisoning and was immediately rushed to the emergency room.
"It seems someone wants to silence him."
Director Huang said with a stern face.
Zhou Jin’an was feeling very oppressed.
Qiao En’s whereabouts were unknown, and now someone wanted to silence Zheng Gang.
It seemed the other party must have discovered something.
The more afraid the other party was, the more he had to investigate.
"Look carefully, don’t overlook any detail. Also, arrange for doctors from Rong City to come over; we must save Zheng Gang."
That transfer information was handed over to the police technical experts for investigation.
Hongyan Village.
Zhou Jin’an and his people had just left.
The two men gathered together again.
"Brother Chen, who are these people? You’re so experienced, using the tactic of luring the tiger away from the mountain excellently."
The young man gave a flattery.
The older one glanced at him, "I told you not to be greedy, you didn’t believe me; now you see the trouble is big, right? We can’t keep that woman any longer; we need to move her quickly."
The young man scratched his head, "Should we really not tell the big BOSS about this?"
"Tell him nothing, just figure out how to deal with that woman."
Qiao En curled up in the cellar, which was sealed off; they had covered her mouth when they stuffed her in there.
At two in the morning, the two men entered the cellar.
The older one pressed a dagger to Qiao En’s abdomen and threatened in a low voice, "Don’t make a sound, follow us obediently, or it will end badly for both of us."
Qiao En dared not move.
She had realized that these two were not intending to let her go.
"Big brother, I need to go to the toilet."
The younger one shoved Qiao En, "Just handle it here."
Qiao En felt extremely embarrassed, "Big brother, please, I’m heavily pregnant and can’t run far; besides, you’re planning to get rid of me, I’ll definitely cooperate with you."
The older one waved his hand, signaling the younger one to take Qiao En outside.
"Just handle it here."
Coming out of the cellar, the young man took Qiao En to a nearby latrine.
The old-fashioned latrine, with its overwhelming stench.
Qiao En turned her back, squatted down.
The young man lit a cigarette and walked outside, and Qiao En immediately picked up a pebble and marked on the wall.
After finishing, she walked out with the young man.
A group of people got into the car and drove deeper into the mountains, rocking along.
Back at the hospital, after three hours of emergency treatment, Zheng Gang finally regained consciousness.
Wearing his uniform, Director Huang appeared before him with immense authority.
"Tell us, who wants you dead? If you confess, mercy will be granted; resist, and it will be severe. You’re now suspected of involvement in a disappearance case; the police can arrest you at any time."
Standing next to Director Huang was Zhou Jin’an, his face ashen, while suppressed anger festered on his cheeks.
Zheng Gang glanced at the people in the room, then slowly closed his eyes.
Zhou Jin’an didn’t give him a chance to avoid it; he stepped forward, grabbed his throat, and his fingers slowly tightened.
"Since you seem so eager to die, I might as well oblige you."
Zheng Gang’s face turned instantly red.
When people are living a fate worse than death, they often think death is an escape. Yet, when actually facing death, they can’t help but fear.
Zheng Gang was such a person.
He began to struggle violently.
Just as the suffocation was about to overwhelm him, Zhou Jin’an loosened his grip.
"She is my wife, if anything happens to her, you’ll be the first one I won’t spare."
Just then, Zhou Jin’an’s phone rang.
It was Auntie Jiang calling.
"Jin’an, have you found Yayun?"
Auntie Jiang sounded a bit anxious.
Zhou Jin’an stood close to Zheng Gang, clutching the phone, and lied with a somber tone, "Yes, she’s found, but she’s a bit upset and wants to stay at the hotel tonight. Mom, don’t worry, I’ll make sure to pacify her."
"Jin’an, Yayun is pregnant now, and her temper is a bit off, try to indulge her more. I’ll come to Rong City tomorrow morning, and I’ll talk to her properly then."
"Alright."
After hanging up, Zhou Jin’an noticed that Zheng Gang was looking at him with a strange expression.
"Who is the person on the phone to you?"
Zheng Gang stared intently at Zhou Jin’an and asked.
Zhou Jin’an did not answer, but Director Huang did.
"That’s Director Zhou’s mother-in-law, the birth mother of the missing person."
Upon hearing this, Zheng Gang’s expression suddenly sagged.
After a while, he opened his mouth.
"Go back to Hongyan Village, find Wang Chen, Feng Hu—be quick, the person is definitely in their hands."
As his words fell, Zhou Jin’an had already run out recklessly.
He led his men straight to Hongyan Village.
However, they were still one step too late.
Wang Chen and Feng Hu had already left.
Knowing whose hands Qiao En was in had actually made things easier.
"Search Hongyan Village again."
Zhou Jin’an issued the order.
All his forces deployed, making night in Hongyan Village as bright as day.
Soon, someone discovered the markings left by Qiao En.
"Director Zhou, there are markings here."
Zhou Jin’an rushed over and saw the alphabetical traces left by Qiao En.
Then, they found tire tracks on the ground.
"Chase!"
At the command, five black jeeps quickly followed the tire tracks.
The black van that Qiao En was in broke down halfway through the journey.
Wang Chen and Feng Hu, one holding a flashlight, the other holding tools, crouched on the ground fixing the vehicle.
The two of them worked while bickering with each other.
"What kind of job are you doing? I asked you to find a vehicle, and you found such a wreck."
"You know how many vehicles there are in the village, right? I discussed with you before to buy a better one, but you didn’t agree. Now you start complaining about me, is this my fault?"
As the two were squabbling, Zhou Jin’an’s vehicle had already caught up with them.
"Brother, someone’s coming, we can ask them for help," Feng Hu said as he stood up and spoke to Wang Chen.
Wang Chen squinted towards the bright light, but before he could see clearly, Zhou Jin’an’s Maybach was already approaching.
He swiftly opened the car door and appeared in front of the two.
"Guys..."
Feng Hu had barely spoken when Zhou Jin’an swept his legs out, knocking him down.
Wang Chen reacted quickly, grabbing the flashlight and hurling it at Zhou Jin’an, then running away.
Zhou Jin’an caught the flashlight with one hand, but swiftly smashed it towards the back of Wang Chen’s head.
Wang Chen’s legs gave out, and he fell to the ground.
The people who came with Zhou Jin’an swarmed over, quickly subduing the two men.
"Where is she?"
Zhou Jin’an locked Feng Hu’s throat tightly with his hand, his grip powerful.
In pain, Feng Hu quickly confessed.
"In the trunk."
No sooner had he finished speaking than Zhou Jin’an drew back his fist and started striking him in the head.
Qiao En was pregnant, how could she curl up in such a place?
The van was now surrounded, its doors were opened, and the trunk was also unlocked, with Qiao En curled up small inside.
"En’en."
Zhou Jin’an stepped forward and embraced her frail body, lifting her out from inside.
The tape sealing her mouth was torn off, and Qiao En, looking at Zhou Jin’an, let her tears fall.
"Jin’an, I’m sorry."
He stretched out his hand to wipe away the tears that flowed down, "It’s all my fault, I didn’t take good care of you, which let you suffer this hardship."
"Let’s go to the hospital first."
On the way to the hospital, Zhou Jin’an held Qiao En in his arms.
It seemed as though only in this way could he find a sense of solidity.
Fortunately, everything was normal; she was not seriously harmed.
It was already late, and although Qiao En wanted to return to Rong City, Zhou Jin’an insisted she stay at the hospital for further observation overnight.
Wang Chen and Feng Hu had been handed over to Director Huang.
The investigation would be taken over by the police.
The situation having settled, neither of them could sleep.
Zhou Jin’an stayed by her bedside the whole time, worry consuming him, grasping Qiao En’s small hand, unable to let go.
"From now on, don’t keep anything from me, you hear me? ’Husband’, close enough to measure, it’s too dangerous for one person to be in such places!"
"Yes, I understand."
Qiao En, like a docile kitten, agreed to everything.
"By the way, how did you find me?"
Qiao En curiously asked.
She had left many clues, yet none could guarantee that those clues would catch Zhou Jin’an’s attention.
"Zheng Gang told me," Zhou Jin’an said leisurely.
Qiao En looked puzzled, "He told you?"
Zhou Jin’an explained everything to Qiao En, and after listening, she was even more baffled.
