"Hey! Mom! Did you need me for something?"
Lily Turner picked up the phone and held it to her ear. It was almost lunchtime. If her mom was calling now, it wasn’t just for a casual chat.
Since she didn’t have her own cellphone to use at the moment, chatting idly on the home phone wasn’t very practical or convenient.
Hearing Lily pick up the phone, Sophia hesitated for a moment, but she still voiced the reason for her call, "Tomorrow you’re getting married to Easton. Are you coming home to stay tonight? A bride should spend the night before her wedding at her parent’s house."
Although Easton Holmes and Lily Turner were already legally married and had been living together for a few months, they hadn’t held a wedding ceremony yet. Besides, no one knew when they got married.
Their official wedding ceremony would take place the next day, and Sophia felt that Lily should come home to stay the night and be picked up by Easton from there, making it a proper wedding.

She took the phone away from her ear, covered the receiver with her other hand, and then spoke to Callix Linton sitting not far away, "Grandpa! I’m going home to stay tonight, my mom will come to pick me up in a bit."
She hadn’t yet told her mom about this pickup arrangement, but she was confident her mom would be happy to come and get her.
"Goddess sister! You’re going home to stay? Why? Isn’t this your home too?" Before Callix could say anything, Athena Linton anxiously interjected, as if Lily would suddenly disappear. She quickly walked over, standing right in front of Lily as she spoke.
Seeing this, Lily smirked, "Of course this is my home too, but I should go to my home tonight. It’s tradition."

Seeing this, Serena Zimmerman quickly stood up, went over, and pulled Athena away from Lily, "Young kids shouldn’t meddle in adult affairs. Come sit with me and watch TV."
"Mom! I’m nineteen now, I’m already an adult." Athena didn’t want Serena to pull her away and instinctively reached out to grab Lily, which gave Serena quite a scare.
