Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 845: There’s Nothing Shameful About Being Clingy With My Wife
When Lily Turner and Easton Holmes arrived at the canteen with a few others, those who came before them had already formed their own groups and sat down. Their comrades were busy serving tea and pouring water, with the prepared cold dishes and wedding wine already set on the tables.
By this time, Lily Turner had changed out of her wedding dress and into a bright red evening gown. She originally wanted to wear a cheongsam, but because her belly was slightly protruding, she had to give up her preferred choice and opt for a dress with a slightly loose skirt.
Considering the need to walk around to toast guests, she even took off her high heels and wore flat shoes of the same color as her dress. Luckily, she was tall enough that the dress didn’t drag on the ground.
However, wearing flat shoes next to Easton Holmes made her feel somewhat disadvantaged, as he was a full head taller than her. Despite this, they still appeared well-matched.
Since Lily Turner was pregnant, she was drinking warm water instead of alcohol during toasts. As the color of the water and wine was the same, the guests didn’t notice the switch.
After making her rounds, she felt overwhelmingly full even without eating anything.
"Where’s the restroom?"
After finishing the toasts, Lily Turner immediately wanted to head to the restroom and, tugging on Easton Holmes’ sleeve, she asked quietly.
"I’ll take you there."
Easton Holmes put down his wine glass and took Lily Turner’s hand, ready to leave the canteen for the restroom. But as he was about to take a step, his comrades called out to him.
"Hey, buddy! No need to rush home so quickly to the bridal chamber, the banquet isn’t even over yet." Seeing Easton Holmes dragging Lily Turner out in a hurry, the comrades thought he was eager to bring his bride home, and each of their minds wandered regarding what they might do.
As soon as the comrade finished speaking, Lily Turner’s face turned a shy shade of red. She glanced at her comrades and then tilted her head to look at the man beside her, whispering so only the two of them could hear, "Just tell me where the restroom is, I can go by myself."
Seeing him teased by his comrades, she didn’t want him to be in an awkward situation because of her. Besides, she was old enough to take care of herself. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Do you guys have any objections? If you do, just keep them to yourselves." Easton Holmes didn’t heed Lily Turner’s idea of staying to accompany his comrades. Instead, he responded to them with domineering confidence before calmly taking her out of the canteen, completely unfazed by the surprised looks shot his way.
But Lily Turner wasn’t as composed as the man. As she left, she looked back at the comrades who were now staring at him as if they were looking at a monster.
"Honey! Your comrades have misunderstood, and they’ll tease you about this later." Those comrades clearly misunderstood, or they wouldn’t be looking at them with such expressions.
"Misunderstood what? Misunderstood that I’m so attached to my wife?" Easton Holmes appeared completely indifferent, walking alongside Lily Turner without any care for others’ gazes.
Even after leaving the canteen, Lily Turner was still glancing back. Easton Holmes simply pulled her close to him, "No need to look back anymore, let them misunderstand if they want. Being close to my wife isn’t anything to be ashamed of; they’re just envious of me."
He adjusted his arm, wrapping it tightly around her.
"Honey! I’ve noticed your skin is getting thicker." As Lily Turner was speaking, she instinctively raised her hand to pinch Easton Holmes’ cheek, but halfway up, she suddenly saw Amelia Linton following them.
