Thomas Fisher didn’t voice any opinion on Alice Turner’s arrangement. He just turned his head to look at her, then turned back without a word and focused on driving. He no longer initiated conversation with her.

The man suddenly became quiet while driving, and Alice Turner was somewhat unaccustomed to it at first. She turned slightly to look at him.

Even though she could only see one side of his face, she could tell he was tense, with his lips tightly pressed, as if he was unhappy.

Noticing that Thomas Fisher seemed unhappy, Alice Turner felt very uncomfortable inside. Instinctively, she wanted to open her mouth to apologize or say something.

But just as she opened her mouth, she suddenly remembered what Benjamin Shaw told her yesterday, and she closed her just-opened mouth.

Alice Turner withdrew her gaze from Thomas Fisher, sat back in her seat, and stared at the windshield as she recalled some memories.

When Alice Turner turned slightly, Thomas Fisher noticed it from the corner of his eye. He didn’t miss her hesitant expression either.

Neither of them spoke again. One focused on driving, the other on staring at the windshield and thinking.

After a little over ten minutes, the car stopped in front of a breakfast shop.

Alice Turner was so deep in thought that she didn’t notice the car had stopped until Thomas Fisher parked and turned towards her.

He stared at her for a while. Seeing she didn’t move at all, he gently reached out and nudged her.

Suddenly feeling someone nudge her, Alice Turner snapped out of her thoughts and realized the car had stopped.

She tilted her head to glance outside the window. The sign in front of the breakfast shop immediately caught her eye, and she blurted out, "We’re here already."

Feeling a bit embarrassed, she hesitated to look at him and naturally opened the car door and got out of the car.

Am I that scary?

Seeing Alice Turner get out of the car as if fleeing, Thomas Fisher shook his head helplessly. Not wanting to overthink, he promptly got out of the car as well.

They walked into the breakfast shop one after the other. By this time, the breakfast rush was over, and there weren’t many customers inside. They sat down at an empty window-side table.

"What would you like to eat?"

Hearing the man order the same thing, Alice Turner muttered in her heart, dissatisfied.

"Please wait a moment!"

The waiter quickly turned and went to prepare their meals. In no time, the breakfast was laid out on the table for them.

For various reasons, Thomas Fisher and Alice Turner hadn’t eaten dinner last night, and they were both starving.
