As Deet braced himself for the impact between him and the great wild boar beast something powerful struck it on the head and knocked it off course causing it to swerve and fall on its side with its body impacting Deet and not it’s head. Though the blow was much more softened that it would have been had he met with its thick skull it still sent him flying back a great tree and into a a tree.

Moments earlier Elise had healed Garult to an extent and when he could move again he sprung forward and saw the beast turn for Deet. He knew how dangerous a beast in a state of frenzy was as predictable as their actions was the way each beast would charge was unpredictable.

Seeing as he could not reach there in time he gritted his teeth and with all his energy sent his sword flying through the air aiming for the neck of the beast. His blade flew effortlessly through the air giving a sense of hope. Larius was changing his position to lay another attack on the beast when the sword struck the beast in the next with a force strong enough to change it’s direction.

The wild boar let out a loud roar that stretched out into the deeper corners of the forest as it fell on its side. Before it could move Deet had recovered and was now bringing down a huge boulder on its head. There was a loud think and a squelching noise as it twitched and dropped dead.

The group took a moment to rest as Elise went around healing them one at a time and eventually she exhausted herself after healing them all to some extent. They spend the next few minutes resting and discussing on how to share their spoils afterwards. The only one not part of their discussion was surprisingly the pale human female who was their healer.

Elise sat at a quiet corner of the space where they had killed the wild boar beast on a small rock her legs put together and he hands before her clutching tight to her staff. She looked at the male counterparts of her team with a distant look of what seemed like disgust.

"This has to be the best haul I’ve seen in a while, our fifth great wild boar today." Garult boomed with pride that betrayed his once respectable figure. The stories about him being a great adventurer were largely falsified, what he was truly responsible for was stealing the kills of other adventurers guild and he also had a quality he never showed anyone besides his healer who was the only member of his team he hadn’t hired.

Deet sat cross-legged on the ground as he relaxed. "Damn I’m so glad I chose you invite when I did, my other teams were never as effective." Though he seemed relaxed he had his hands to the ground to feel the vibration of anything within a 5 mile radius.

Garult knew how advantageous it was to hunt as a group called a guild rather than to hint alone so he always devised but he hated above all others to shared what belonged to him. Growing up he had always known he was the strongest, in every guild he had been on he always ended up being the main damage dealer despite having no aptitude for magic, he was always taken advantage of.

Because of that he formed his own party and called it the nameless head and devised a special tactic to keep what was his. He would spend weeks with a set of teammates and reap rewards they would share evenly amongst the group and at a set time he would kill them all and keep everything to himself. Of course there was no way to catch him in the act since the life of adventures were most times short lived and victim to unexplained dangers. He had done this for years till one day he found a member he never tried to kill and it was of course Elise the healer. Having a healer on the team would be good for business and help get new members faster.

Elise had been by his side for months and though she hated his vile act she had no way to escape him neither could she report him without putting her life at risk. Escaping would be impossible, Garult was a more deadly tracker than he was a long adventure.

Garult this time had no plans of keeping his new teammates alive. This was one of his biggest hauls yet and the location they were in currently was one that was unexplored and marked a red zone. At first he feared they would face a beast of a very high rank but it seemed this was false. There was a time he tried to have his way with her but she then confessed that she was a vrigin mage. These were people who were under a certain ritual from a young age, they would gain greater power than their peers and a connection to the divine goddess power as long as they were not deflowered.

Elise sat at the corner not wanting to see the vile act being commited to her new comrades, she hated it to the depths of her soul. She hated the assholes that patrolled the world just because the heavens took a bit of pity on them and blessed them with power. She had also considered killing Garult but he was much faster and more durable as an adventurer than she could ever hope to be.

The crunching of grass caused Elise to raise her head and look forward at the approaching figure. It was the young elf archer Larius who had a kind smile on his face. Her hands holding the staff trembled visibly at the fact that Garult would be killing such innocent people soon and she would also be a partaker of it by not saying anything. She wondered what Garult would do to her if she warned them beforehand.

All the times she had tried this she had ended up getting cut in places she never thought could be cut. Garult would torture her and main her, since she was a healer he did not have the fear of her bleeding to death. By force she was made to obey his will at all cost, there was always a silent prayer she had in her that one day before it fate or chance, someone would save her from this cursed fate. It was either that or she would take her own life.

But what if Larius and Deet could take down Garult? Would she really take the chance? She could see Garult giving her the stink eye not to try anything funny or else she would have to repeat her usual dances with him.

"Sir Larius, how many I help you?" Elise asked in a sweet voice.

Larius said nothing and looked down at her for a moment as if admiring her beauty. Elise was a little startled, all of the time Garult’s eyes did not dare leave them for fear of Elise spilling the beans.

"Sir Larius?" Elise asked in a more startled voice as she trembled even further, her body falling apart internally.

Something metallic and shiny caught her eye from Larius hand, she had not noticed it there a moment ago. It was the reflection of the light bouncing off a metallic object. Elise’s heart jumped as she noticed it was a blade even Garult was slow to notice it.

Larius smiled innocently as he thrust his dagger forward. "You really are a sweet thing, perhaps too sweet."

Elise felt her throat gag as her apparel was bathed in blood. This was the hubris of fools, it was as swift as a daggers end.
