"Still, that doesn’t give your brother the right to talk me down," Wu Tang whispered as they faced the priest who felt intimidated by Wu Tang’s presence.

"Do I have control over my brother? I don’t think I do," Tang Mei forced out the words through gritted teeth.

"Whatever suits you," Wu Tang scoffed. He could not be bothered to talk to her anymore, he felt it was not worth it.

The priest began the ceremony, and in less than ten minutes, they were already married to each other.

There was applause in the whole church once the priest announced them as husband and wife.

Things only got awkward when they were asked to share a kiss.

"Will they really share a kiss? It is not news that they detest each other, I am actually looking forward to it," Zhou Mian scoffed as she watched the predicament of both of them.

"It is up to them, let’s not be bothered by them," Tang Mo replied with nonchalance. He was not ready to give Tang Mei and Wu Tang attention.

Zhou Mian shrugged her shoulders, seeing the disinterested look on his face. She turned to look at Xin Yan who was seated right beside her, and she chuckled, not finding what she saw was odd.

What did she see? Xin Yan was actually watching them with a focused look. She smiled, realizing that Xin Yan was only acting naturally.

Tang Mei and Wu Tang finally shared the kiss. It could not be considered a kiss. It was basically a peck through the veil.

Zhou Mian was tempted to burst into laughter. She could make out what sort of expression Tang Mei had on her face, after all, she was only expecting to be kissed by Li Qiang.

There were cheers after it was all completed. It was finally time to move to the reception hall. Thankfully, there was a hall close to the church, and that was where they had booked.

The reception was for the couple to have their first kiss. It was also a time for the guests to present gifts to the bride.

"Where is my son?" Tang Mei immediately asked as they had their seats.

Wu Tang balled his hands into his fists. He had tried hard in the past two days to tell the mother and son of the truth, but all efforts proved futile.

It was either Tang Mei was busy with one thing or the other, or occasionally, the problem lay in him. He did not have the courage to tell her what he had done many years ago.

He was going to take things slowly.

"I have asked my guards to get him, he is going to show up soon," Wu Tang replied.

Tang Mei nodded as she looked around, trying to see if she could catch a glimpse of Li Qiang.

"Congratulations on your marriage, I wish you a thrilled union," her view was then obstructed by someone, and it turns out to be Zhou Mian.

Tang Mei rolled her eyes as she scoffed. If there was someone she would rather not see, then it would definitely be Zhou Mian. It was no news that both of them hated each other deeply.

Zhou Mian was not alone, Tang Mo was standing beside her. Tang Mei could not help but feel hurt. She recalled the times her brother would fight for her sake, but now, he is completely withdrawn, and doesn’t want anything to do with her.

She was aware that it was her fault, but she could not help but feel hurt. They had a siblings’ bond, and it could not be possible that it was destroyed just because of an action of hers.

"Brother," Tang Mei called out slightly.

"Congratulations, here is your gift," Tang Mo wished her monotonously as he dropped the gift in her hands, which she received absent-mindedly.

"It is not yet time for gifting," Tang Mei subconsciously blurted out.

"We are leaving, I have an important matter to attend to," Tang Mo replied as he checked his wristwatch with a frown on his face.

"Mian, we need to leave now, time is fast spent," Tang Mo stated, and she smiled in return.

"See you again, latest couple in town," Zhou Mian smiled before she walked away with Tang Mo.

"That bitch!" Tang Mei snarled.

"Hey, take it easy, have you forgotten that you are in a public space? Pay attention to your image," Wu Tang held her back with his words.

"I just hate her, I hate her more than I hate Xin Yan, she is a pain in the ass," hatred has already clouded her judgment as she momentarily forgot that she was seated beside Wu Tang, someone who was madly in love with Xin Yan.

"You had better watch what you say, or I will be tempted to clip off your tongue," Wu Tang threatened in a low voice, and she swallowed immediately. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

"I am sorry," she apologized immediately, for fear of what might happen if she did anger him.

From where they were seated, Li Qiang and Xin Yan watched the interaction between Wu Tang and Tang Mei.

"I am interested in seeing how far this farce of a marriage would go," Xin Yan muttered with an interested look.

"It won’t last, it won’t be long before Wu Tang attacks, and it will cause a rift between both of them," Li Qiang played with Xin Yan fingers as he analyzed their upcoming actions.

"Is he attacking soon?" Xin Yan turned to look at him with wide eyes.

"From my sources, yes, you have to pay proper attention to your surroundings," Li Qiang could not help but stress this matter constantly.

Xin Yan looked at the serious look on his face, and she realized at once that she could be attacked also. Her heart turned cold at this probability, or rather, reality.

"I will keep it in mind," she replied with a grave expression.

Soon, the host of the reception party climbed the podium. He made some funny jokes, before he announced that it was time for the couple’s dance.

Xin Yan chuckled, "Zhou Mian would have loved to see this, but sadly, she has left," she commented with a sigh.

"It is not good to laugh at others’ predicament," Li Qiang muttered, causing Xin Yan to snap her head towards him.

"Except that person is your enemy," he finished, and Xin Yan laughed at his humor.

"What?" Tang Mei croaked. She was not ready to dance with Wu Tang. She did not consider this to be a real marriage, so she did not see any reason to have a dance with him.

"You have no other choice, do you think I would love to dance with you? That is a no," Wu Tang whispered as he pulled her to the dance floor.

Tang Mei had an irritated look on her face as she was pulled close to him.

She looked up at him, and she was dumbfounded. This was the first time she was seeing Wu Tang up close, and she had to admit, he was very handsome.

But then again, her stubborn self would not allow her to admit it, and of course, she only had Li Qiang in her eyes.

Soon the music started playing, and they swayed under the neon light, their bodies swaying to the music.

"Mom, dad," the couple were interrupted by a loud, but familiar voice.

Tang Mei furrowed her brows as she disentangled herself from Wu Tang who let her go. Her head snapped to the source of the voice, and her eyes widened, seeing that it was Tang Ni.

"Why did he scream?" Tang Mei whispered as she stood frozen watching the boy run to her.

"Mom, I hope I am not late," he quickly ran to her, hugging her at the same time.

Gasps filled the room as the guests watched with open eyes.

"Is that her son?"

"It seems so, can’t you see how close they look?"

"Is she this shameless? It is not enough that she wants to get married to Li Qiang, resulting in a shameless act, but now, she actually has a son."

"She is so shameless, I actually pity Wu Tang, he has just been cuckolded by her."

"Only Tang and Shi Liran are the reasonable people in the family, to be honest."

"I agree with you, and it seems she is not aware of it, take a look at her face, she looks so surprised."

"I would be, it is not easy taking care of my husband’s mistake, only for her to embarrass me, I really pity her."

There were whispers from the guests, and everything fell onto Tang Mei’s ears.

She clenched her fists, her anger reaching its peak. Since she could hear what they were saying, the same went for Wu Tang.

His heart burned due to the way they were insulting her. Not because he cared about her, but because Tang Ni was going to be hurt at the end of the day, and it was not something he wanted.

"That’s enough, he is my son, and he takes her to be his mother," Wu Tang yelled, his voice restoring silence to the entire hall.
