Chapter 204: Chapter 204: Truth Revealed (Unedited)
Song Recommendation: Dash By Nmixx
"She’s not safe, I just hope we can find out who that person is before things get out of hand," Zhang Caixuan commented with a grave expression.
For a moment, the air around the living room was tense, and heavy, leaving everyone breathless.
"Luiying, would you like to have lunch with us?" Zhang Jun asked with a smile. This was an attempt to ease the intense tension in the room.
"I would love to," Zhang Luiying replied. She was not hungry presently, but she did not want to hurt her mother’s feelings.
"I would make it for you myself, you have not tasted my food, have you?" Zhang Jun was thrilled by the prospect of having to cook for her daughter.
"I am excited to have your food, Mrs. Cheng never cooked for me," Zhang Luiying had a dejected look on her face.
"Will you help me in the kitchen?" Zhang Jun asked with an expectant look on her face.
"I would love to," Zhang Luiying replied with an earnest smile.
"I will join also," Linlin volunteered.
"Great!" Zhang Jun exclaimed.
While the two ladies made their way to the kitchen, the men walked to the study.
"Xin Yi, I would like to speak with you, this is why I asked for you to come to the study," Zhang Lei spoked up as they took their seats.
"What do you want to talk about?" Xin Yi asked with his hands folded.
"It’s about Zhang Luiying," Zhang Lei replied with a heavy expression.
"What is it about?" Xin Yi had a serious expression on his face as he heard Zhang Luiying’s name.
"Before she was born, the doctor had said she would have an issue with her heart, I am not aware if it has been triggered, but I want you to always stay by her side, she needs you at this moment," Zhang Lei practically pleaded.
"You do not need to tell me, I love Zhang Luiying, and I will always be with her, regardless of the hardship we might be facing currently," Xin Yi promised solemnly.

*Wu Tang’s Mansion*
The ’couple’ slept in separate rooms, much to the disappointment of Tang Ni. He tried to get both of them to sleep in the same room, but it was futile.
Wu Tang and Tang Mei were adamant on sleeping in separate rooms. Tang Ni could only give in.
Now, it was morning, and Tang Ni was excited, but what they did not expect was that the Press would show up at their house.
Tang Ni was the first person to wake up. While he was in the living room, he heard the door bell ring.
He looked at one of the maids, and gestured for her to get the door.
"Why are you guys here?" The maid asked on seeing the Press with their cameras.
"We are here to get a glimpse of Wu Tang’s child?"
"No, you are not welcome here," the maid was quick to close the door, but the reporters were persistent, and with a little push, they forced their way into the mansion.
Tang Ni heard the commotion, and he was curious as to what was happening. With his curiosity, he made his way to the entrance, but he was stunned to see the reporters.
He froze in place, and the reporters’ eyes landed on him. They looked at him with bright eyes, as though he was a lost treasure that was just found.
"Are you Wu Tang’s son?"
"Do you have a good relationship with Tang Mei as your father said?"
"Are you sure you are his son?"
Tang Ni stood ramrod as he watched the flashes against him. He could not even hear the questions which were being asked. This was the first time he was facing such a situation, it came as a serious shock to him.
The commotion alerted both Wu Tang and Tang Mei who rushed downstairs in their night wear.
"What’s going on here?" Wu Tang barked, and his expression turned sour on seeing the reporters. He knew they were going to show up, but he was not expecting them to be this early.
"It is good you are here, Mr. Wu."
"Is he really your son?"
The reporters left Tang Ni who was held by a maid, and focused on Wu Tang and Tang Mei who had terrible expressions on their face. Tang Ni’s face was pale, and he found it difficult to breathe.
"Are you sure this child doesn’t belong to Tang Mei?"
"We heard some information from a lady, she claims you are lying."
"Miss Tang, please clarify, is he really Wu Tang’s son?"
"Are you the mother of this child?"
"Are you comfortable being a stepmother?"
Questions were thrown from different angles. Microphones were pushed to their faces, and Wu Tang and Tang Mei were pushed around.
Tang Mei could not take it anymore as she yelled out, "enough!"
Her voice was loud, and it thundered around the room
"I said, that is enough," this time, she whispered.
"Enough, please, enough, what do you guys want? What do you want from me?" She questioned them with a terrible expression. It did not help that her head was aching.
Probably due to her loud voice, Tang Ni got back to her senses.
"Mom," Tang Ni ran to her, hugging her tightly.
"Mom, who are these people? They keep asking questions, and I am scared of them, they look scary," Tang Ni cried against her body.
The reporters exchanged glances, feeling that they just found out massive news. They signalled their corresponding cameramen, gesturing for them to get the cameras rolling.
"Listen, Tang Ni, no one will hurt you, I will not allow them to hurt you, aren’t you mommy’s sweet little boy?" Tang Mei immediately squatted to his level as she consoled him.
"But they keep asking weird questions, you are my mother, not my stepmother, you gave birth to me," Tang Ni muttered innocently.
"Yes, I am your mother, nothing else, nobody can take my place away from your life, you are my son, my son," Tang Mei’s eyes were filled with unshed tears.
She loved her son so much, and his words caused her heart to stir. She was troubled and anxious.
"Mom, Uncle Wu, you have to clear the air, you have to make them understand that she is my mother, she was the one who gave birth to me, nobody else," Tang Ni pleaded, with tears falling from his eyes.
Wu Tang looked at his son, and felt terrible within himself. He could not even gather enough courage to tell him that he was his father, he was a coward.
"Listen up, everybody, you want to know the truth? This is the truth," Wu Tang spoke up in a loud voice.
Everyone’s attention turned to him. The reporters were excited. They were finally going to get the news of the century.
"Tang Mei is the mother of Tang Ni, he is her son," he announced, his announcement throwing the reporters into a frenzy.
"Oh my goodness!"
"This is shocking news!"
"Can you believe it?"
"I was not expecting this."
The reporters murmured amongst themselves.
Wu Tang’s eyes hovered over them, and he heaved a sigh. He was about to tell the truth. This might be the best time for him to say the truth, if he does not, he might not get any other chance.
"Miss Tang, who is the father of your son?"
"Yes, tell us, we all want to know?"
The reporters urged, all the blood in her body to dry up. She felt anxious, how could she tell them that she was raped? It was going to be the biggest scandal in the country, and her son?
What was she to explain to him? His mother got raped, and that he was a product of rape. She did not want to know how much this would hurt the little one.
"I am the father of the child, I am Tang Ni’s father, I was not lying yesterday when I said he is my son," Wu Tang announced, dropping another bombshell.
"What?"
"Crazy news!"
"The ratings for our TV show would go up the roof!"
"This is massive!"
"Take a look at Tang Mei’s face!" One of the reporters said, and all the cameramen zoomed in on Tang Mei’s face to capture the rare look of shock on her face.
"It seems Tang Mei was not expecting Wu Tang to announce the truth," one of the reporters commented with a laugh.
"I implore all the reporters to air nothing but the truth," Wu Tang pleaded, he was well aware of how the reporters were never straightforward in their reports.
"We all understand, we will only report the truth, and nothing but the truth," one of the reporters spoke up on behalf of the rest.
"Please see the guests out," Wu Tang instructed one of the maids, who was more than happy to do so. She found the reporters to be a nuisance.
"Wu Tang, why did you lie to the reporters? Why did you say you are Tang Ni’s father?" Tang Mei immediately questioned, after she was sure the reporters had taken their leaves.
"Because, this is the truth, I am his father," Wu Tang replied with the same energy.
