Lu Wei yawned as he rose from his bed. A bright smile appeared on his face when he realized what day it was.

His smile did not dampen. He was in a superb mood, and it was evident with him humming a melody.

"I wonder what Gu Shishi’s reaction will be once she sees me, would she recognize me just as I did for her? I hope she finds my gift pleasant," he muttered to himself as he picked up a gift box.

"I do hope she remembers me," he smiled before he walked into the bathroom.

He quickly freshened up, and after he was done, he looked into the mirror.

Lu Wei smiled, seeing his reflection looking back at him. He let out a sigh of relief as he picked up the gift.

Lu Wei looked at the time, and he sighed. There was still time left, and he was at a loss of what he could do.

All of a sudden, he got a call from his mother.

"Are you ready? Why am I even asking? I could see in your eyes yesterday that you were ready to meet Gu Shishi," Mrs. Lu smiled.

Lu Wei’s face blushed heavily. A chuckle escaped his mom’s mouth.

"You are blushing, aren’t you?" Mrs. Lu asked, and Lu Wei let out an awkward chuckle.

"I guessed right then, you are blushing, alright, that is enough teasing, the party will only start in the evening, why did you get ready this early?" Mrs. Lu asked with a chuckle as she circled the room.

"I guess I was just too excited," Lu Wei replied, while coughing awkwardly.

"I can understand what you are feeling, it is normal you act that way, but anyway, you can arrive at the party earlier, this will enable you to speak to Gu Shishi before the party starts, she will be extremely busy after the party starts, I hope you understand what I am saying."

Mrs. Lu advised, and of course, Lu Wei felt that her advice was advisable.

"You are right, mom, I never thought about it that way, I will be leaving now, thank you, mom," Lu Wei excitedly spoke out as he immediately disconnected the call.

"But I am still your son, and you should always defend me, you do not care for me as much as you care about Lu Wei, you are the reason my little brother does not return home," Lu Feng accused, and Mrs. Lu’s face turned pale.

"I am not the reason, like I said, you should not say things you do not have the slightest idea of," Mrs. Lu was not in the mood to talk to Lu Feng, but he was adamant.

Lu Feng left the room with a lackluster look in his eyes. He had been dealt with a heavy blow, and he could not react to it.

Once Lu Feng left the room, Mrs. Lu collapsed to the floor, tears fell from her eyes.

Nobody knew what she was going through. Nobody was aware, and they did not care about it. She was unable to give a damn about it.

"Did you speak with your mom? What was her response?" Mr. Lu asked his son once he sighted him. He did not even notice that he looked lifeless.

"You do not need to ask me, dad, I have to get a drink, I feel suffocated," Lu Feng replied, as he left the mansion immediately.

Mr. Lu was taken aback by his actions, and he chuckled in disbelief.

"Hi, are you here for the party? If you are, the party is going to take place in the evening, and not now," one of the maids informed Lu Wei once she saw him.

"I know, I am here to see Gu Shishi," Lu Wei smiled, and hoped that he would be granted the audience.
