"You are joking, aren’t you? It must be a joke," Xin Yan was unwilling to believe that it was true as she shook her head in denial.
"I apologize, but it isn’t a joke, I apologize for keeping it away from you, but I figured that it will be terrible news, which was why I kept it away from you," Li Qiang played with his fingers as he confessed to her.
Xin Yan scoffed in disbelief.
"They are my kids, aren’t they? Even if I might get angry or scared, the least you could have done was to inform me," Xin Yan stated as she placed her right palm on her forehead.
The news left her terrified, and she had no idea if the ordeal terrified her kids.
But they didn’t seem like people who were kidnapped, which was why she was unable to notice. They were able to fake their emotions quite well.
"Actually, the twins were not the only ones kidnapped, my uncle also kidnapped Tang Ni, it turns out Li Beichen is the Godfather," Li Qiang further confessed.
This particular piece of news further caused Xin Yan to be taken by surprise.
"You are telling another joke, isn’t it?" Xin Yan chuckled.
She was unable to wrap her head around the shocking pieces of news which came one after the other.
"I wish it was the case, but it isn’t, you know what, I wasn’t even surprised when I found out about it because it was something I could expect because Li Beichen is evil," Li Qiang continued with a mellow voice.
Xin Yan sighed out. She actually felt bad for Li Beichen. Although his uncle was evil, he was still a member of the family.
It was just a pity this family member was the reason behind several issues. It hurts!!
"What do you plan to do? The court hearing is today, would you inform your grandfather?" Xin Yan questioned.
"I bet Grandfather is aware of it, perhaps the reason he returned, I’m not sure, just saying," Li Qiang replied as he fixed his suit.
"I want to come with you," Xin Yan requested.
Li Qiang was silent for a while, before he nodded. He felt that it made proper sense if she was present as well.
"Give me a moment to freshen up," Xin Yan stated as she exited the bed with lightning speed.

The couple walked down the stairs, as they went into the dining room.
"Good morning Grandfather," Xin Yan greeted with a smile while Li Qiang remained quiet.
Xin Yan secretly hit his arm with her elbows, and Li Qiang greeted Grandpa Li reluctantly.
Grandpa Li nodded as his eyes darted between both of them, and he noticed they were fully dressed.
"Are you both heading somewhere?" Grandpa Li asked, while Xin Yan nodded positively.
"Won’t you both have breakfast?" He asked again.
"Sadly, we won’t be able to have breakfast, we have to attend to a time-sensitive issue," Li Qiang was the one who replied.
"Is it for the hearing of Li Beichen?" Grandpa Li asked with a sad smile.
Li Qiang and Xin Yan gave Grandpa Li a surprised look. They didn’t except that he would be aware of the hearing.
"You are aware of it, this is the reason you returned, isn’t it?" Li Qiang asked as he stared at his grandfather with a disappointed look.
"I was informed about his appearance in Beijing, I knew something like this would happen, hence, the reason I am here," Grandpa Li explained.
Li Qiang shook his head disappointed, before a strange thought finally clicked into his mind.
"Don’t tell me you know that he is responsible for mom’s and dad’s death," Li Qiang queried, silently praying that the answer wasn’t as he hoped.
Grandpa Li remained silent, quietly admitting to Li Qiang’s question.
Li Qiang took a step back in dismay as he stared at his grandfather with a blank look.
Xin Yan, on the other hand, became worried. She didn’t want both of them to have a massive argument. She felt that it was better for them to sit and talk things out.
"Since you were aware of his misdeeds, why didn’t you send him to jail? Why did you allow a criminal to roam around freely? You left me grieving, blaming myself for the deaths of my parents," Li Qiang suddenly yelled, which caused Xin Yan to jump in fright.
She felt thankful that the kids were still asleep, and didn’t get to see such a side of their father. It would be difficult for them to change such an opinion, and it could destroy the relationship between kids and their father.
Grandpa Li elegantly dropped his cutlery while dabbing his lips .
"You wouldn’t understand," Grandpa Li stated as he looked at his grandson who was on the verge of losing his emotions.
"Then make me understand, that is the least you could do!" Li Qiang begged while Xin Yan held him, hoping Grandpa Li would heed to Li Qiang’s request.
"I will tell you when you return, for now, you must not be late for the hearing," Grandpa Li acted as though he could not feel Li Qiang’s tension.
Li Qiang sighed while he breathed out.
"Xin Yan, let’s leave, it’s pointless anyway, he won’t tell me," Li Qiang directly held Xin Yan’s hands, before he walked out in anger.
"You will understand eventually, just return, and I will inform you of it," Grandpa Li sighed as he held his head.
"Old Master, I believe the Young Master will understand if you just told him," Aunty Guo stepped out from where she was standing previously while she said those words to him.
"Do you think so? He terribly hates me, he doesn’t understand I am doing this for his good," Grandpa Li exhaled.
"Don’t jump into conclusions, if you explain to him normally, I believe he will understand, after all, the Young Master is just like you," Aunty Guo did not forget to praise him.
Grandpa Li chuckled, before he returned to his dish.
______________
"How about I drive?" Xin Yan asked as they got to the parking lot.
Li Qiang thought about it for a while before he decided to sit in the passenger seat. He felt vexed, but unfortunately, there was nothing he could do.
