Rebirth: The unfavored Princess is the Tyrant King's favorite-Chapter 69: We are going to consummate our marriage tonight
"Can I hug you to sleep at least?" He said, and Luciana could only nod. She didn’t think she would be able to deny him again.
"Turn and let your back face me," he said, and as if she was in a trance, or maybe it was because of his compelling voice, she obediently turned her back towards him.
His hand wrapped around her and pulled her into his arms, and as she felt his heartbeat through his sturdy chest sounding behind her, she didn’t know when she fell asleep in his arms. To the rhythm of his heart.

The next morning Luciana woke up with strong arms wrapped around her and tried to squint her eyes open. She tried to lift the strong hands that caged her body, and after several attempts, she succeeded and turned to watch his sleeping face but froze seeing the dark, stormy eyes that were trained on her.
They were filled with such chilling intensity with numerous emotions swirling within them that it caused a shiver to run down her spine. She looked around her surroundings and realized she was really back; she was back in Gloryland. She didn’t think she would be back so soon.
"You seem disappointed. Would you have preferred it was him hugging you instead?" Nicholas asked, a dark tinge in his voice, and Luciana stiffened.
’Why did it seem as if he understood what she was thinking about? Did Nick realize something?’ she thought, panicking.
"That’s one way to welcome your wife who fainted for..."
"Two days, Luciana. You were unconscious for two days, and when I was worried sick thinking about what was wrong with you and when you were going to wake up, you were there with him doing all sorts of things."
"You prefer him over me; I can see it in your eyes; you were looking at me but searching for him through me," he spat, his tone full of venom.
"Nick, what are you talking about? I don’t understand a thing you’re saying," she said, trying to keep the nervousness out of her voice and hoping her expressions didn’t betray her.
"I hate liars, Luciana. Don’t treat me like a fool!" He growled, causing her to flinch at how harsh his tone sounded.
"I can’t explain it, but I was in a dream, and everything felt real, Luciana, and I saw everything, you and that man on the bed as he pinned you underneath his body, and I saw how you enjoyed and responded to his touch."
"You only left me for one day, but you were so comfortable with him to allow him to get so close to you, but you always resist me when I’m your husband," he said.
Luciana’s eyes opened in horror hearing what he was saying.
What sort of sorcery was this? Why did Nick know everything that happened in the other timeline? Did he time travel too?
"He was my husband too, technically speaking. You and he are the same person; why are you acting this way?" She said flatly, trying to be the voice of reason.
"No, no, Luciana, we are different, and you know it! Stop giving me that speech about being the same!"
"I didn’t time travel of my own free will, okay? I fainted, and I found myself there, and he was my husband; what did you expect to do?" Luciana yelled; she felt that he was acting unreasonably.
"If I made love with another woman who looks exactly like you, tell me, how would you feel?" he asked, and Luciana felt tongue-tied.
"Nick, please listen to me; everything was beyond my control. If you witnessed everything yourself, you should have seen, I protested; it was because I realized it wasn’t right; he wasn’t you—he wasn’t my Nick... Please," she said calmly.
Nicholas closed his eyes and tried not to get angry; he realized he couldn’t blame her; this was a strange occurrence. At least it showed he and Luciana were meant to be. She was his beloved in the past, and she is also his beloved now in the future.
"Do you think the deities showed us a glimpse into our past because we’re meant to be?" He finally asked, looking her in the eye, and for a moment there, Luciana didn’t know if she should continue lying to him or tell him everything about the curse and how they were "ill-fated" lovers.
"I... I think so," she choked out; she felt the timing wasn’t right to let him know about the curse. Besides, there were only a few days left for the Red Moon festival.
If what Lord Algrith said was true, then he should be able to see everything himself on that day. He should know what to do with such information when it happens.
"I also think so too. We’re meant to be," he said and kissed her forehead gently, and called out,
"Anyone there?"
"Your Highness, you called for me," a male servant came in and bowed respectfully.
"Summon the imperial physician to come and check on the princess consort," he ordered.
"Right away, Your Highness," the servant said and ran out to carry out the prince’s command.

"Your Highness, the princess consort is in good health; she’s currently not in any danger," the head of the imperial physicians reported; he was glad the princess consort was finally awake so that the prince would stop breathing fire down their necks and calling them quacks.
Nicholas grinned devilishly at the imperial physician’s words. He stared at Luciana, who was sitting by the side and quietly eating her porridge, and said,
"Did you hear that?"
Luciana looked up at him in confusion with question marks all over her head. Why does he look so happy all of a sudden?
"The imperial physician said you’re in good health," he repeated to the confused Luciana and turned to look at the imperial physician.
"Just to be clear, would it affect her health in any way if we have sexual intercourse?" Nicholas asked bluntly, and Luciana, who had just swallowed a spoonful of porridge, nearly choked on her food and began to cough and hiccup simultaneously.
"Are you okay?" Nicholas said and approached her, patting her back with a worried look on his face.
His gaze had never left the physician, an indication he was awaiting his answer. The head physician couldn’t help but blush under the prince’s overbearing gaze. ’Young people were indeed very open about such things,’ he thought.
"No, Your Highness, it shouldn’t affect the princess consort in any way. Like I said, she’s in perfect health," he answered.
"Good, you can leave us," Nicholas said and saw Luciana was staring at him and smiled gently at her.
"Prepare yourself, Luciana; we are going to consummate our marriage tonight," he declared.
