Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!-Chapter 1691: The Power Of An Old Man’s Dreams
-----
After seeing Maria praising Jonathan, the fallen Dragon King of Yggdrasil grew a little jealous.
"Huh, seriously? So he gets all the praise?" Lucifer grumbled, already back in his humanoid form, crossing his arms. "Perhaps I shouldn't have even bothered trying..."
"Hey, don't be grumpy," Maria giggled. "I also love you for the way you are. Now come here... mooch, mooch."
Maria kissed Lucifer's face as the Dragon continued acting sulky, arms still crossed.
"So you killed the Immortal? Took you long enough!" Lucifer said angrily.
"Sorry, I was learning from the way he fought and everything else," Maria explained. "I gained a lot of insight, and look! I turned him into a really weird Undead. It's a Rakshasa—crazy, right?"
"Pfff... Hahahaha!" Lucifer burst out laughing as he saw the ugly, red-skinned, demon-like zombie that the once graceful, pretty-faced Immortal had become. "Yeah, that's good! Hahaha! Look at him! He looks hideous!"
"Grrr..." the White Mist Immortal groaned at Lucifer, but he couldn't do anything.
BOOOM!
Meanwhile, a blazing explosion engulfed the ruins of the White Mist Palace. The Sunblade Damsel looked visibly tired and annoyed.
She had been trying to kill Elder Wu Lieng this entire time, yet he, his disciples, and that very annoying elf continued to stop her.
What's more, the strange new artifacts they possessed only helped them survive even better.
"How is this possible?! Who are you, Wu Lieng?! Your Bloodline and Dantians are crippled! Where are you even drawing the power to fight back to this extent?!" she roared furiously.
"I already told you, Sunblade Damsel—I am no longer running away!" Wu Lieng roared. "My sect was destroyed while I wasn't here, and you expect us to just accept that and die?!"
"You're nothing before the Murim Alliance!" the Sunblade Damsel shouted. "What's the point in even fighting when—"
BOOOM!
"I know you're building up Blazing Ki in your blade while buying time."
Before the Golden Core Expert could slash Wu Lieng in two with her flaming blade, a freezing arrow struck her, destroying her Ki accumulation and extinguishing her flames.
"YOU!"
She glared at Emeraldine, as a third spirit floated beside her other two—the Ocean Spirit she had received as a gift from Lakevale's Ruler, the Lady of the Lake.
By now, it had grown strong, allowing Emeraldine to unleash powerful Arrows of Water and Ice.
Although not as strong as Nature and Light, they were invaluable against Fire Element wielders, who could counter her Wood Magic and resist her Light.
"You might have defeated my father, but his legacy has not died yet!"
Wu Lieng charged, his Aura surging with power. The Heavenly Demon's Shadow absorbed the strength of his disciples, suddenly wielding all four of their Dream Weapons.
"Stop repeating the same thing, you decrepit old man!"
The woman kicked him with all her force, but Kim Hua's shield protected him and the Heavenly Demon's Shadow, as three powerful weapon strikes hit her simultaneously.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
"Ngaaah?!"
She vomited blood—the powerful axe struck her stomach, the sword her left shoulder, and the spear pierced her right arm.
"B-Bastard! What is that power?! It pierced through my... my Blazing Ki Dress?!"
"That's the power of an old man's dreams!"
Elder Wu Lieng roared, his powerful Aura striking the woman from every angle, overwhelming her mercilessly.
Each blow pierced her barriers, shockwaves of energy erupting and weakening her Blazing Ki fluctuation.
"I-Impossible! Stop! Ugh! Aaahhh!" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
For a moment, as she screamed in agony, the Sunblade Damsel felt the same fear she had once experienced when—
"Heavenly Demon's Ascension!"
The ultimate technique Wu Lieng could never learn from his father, but one he had always wished to master.
A cheap imitation, fueled and materialized by dreams alone.
The Heavenly Demon's Shadow's fist glowed with blazing red light, the Dream Weapons merging into its fist, turning dark crimson.
And then—
BOOOM!
"Aaaaaaaghhh!"
The Sunblade Damsel's stomach burst into dream flames. She vomited blood, her body flung into the skies.
Emeraldine aimed her bow, firing dozens of frost arrows, bombarding her with frost spirit magic.
"Ngaaaahhh! D-Damn it! Aaahhh! I have to get out of here!"
She swung her blazing sword through the air, opening a blazing portal.
"I will make sure you pay for this, Wu Lieng!"
And then she vanished.
"She's gone? She escaped..." Emeraldine sighed. "Maybe I should've killed her..."
"No, that's fine," Wu Lieng said. "I know you didn't want to spill more blood. You are a kindhearted person, Master Emeraldine."
"Wu Lieng... Are you okay with this?" she asked.
"We will meet again," Wu Lieng sighed. "And when that time comes, it will be different..."
"Ugh, I can't move..."
"T-Thank god she's gone..."
"Golden Core Experts are too much!"
"Well done, everyone..."
Kim Hua smiled, congratulating his fellow disciples, relieved and proud to have pushed someone so strong so far.
"It looks like it's over, huh? Yoomyung."
Elder Wu Lieng walked toward his friend, who remained seated among the ruins of his palace, filled with frustration and sorrow.
"My sect... my disciples..." Yoomyung muttered. "Wu... Is this all your fault?"
"No..." Wu Lieng sighed. "You know it wasn't my fault. They used this as an excuse to kill me—I can tell. Why else would three Golden Core Experts have jumped in out of nowhere?"
"You're right..." Yoomyung sighed. "But the other Elders..."
They glanced at the Third and Fourth Elders, both defeated by Maria's family. Partner had used her overwhelming Vampire power, further boosted by the Red Fog, to completely cripple the Third Elder and drink his blood, though he was still somewhat alive.
Meanwhile, the Fourth Elder had fought Nia and Celes together. Their combined effort as mother and son was overwhelming—their spells constant, their ability to fight as one both wonderful and shocking.
She had been knocked out, lying on the floor with broken arms and one missing leg. Nia was certainly a far more brutal fighter than her son.
However, these tough battles helped everyone progress as fighters and gain new insight. Murim's Martial Artists were truly formidable.
"These people were incredible. Fighting them head-on proved ineffective," Nia sighed. "Our only edge was Magic Spells—their unpredictability made them too difficult to counter."
"That's the power of Murim's warriors," Emeraldine said. "That woman with the sword? She was also quite hard to deal with, truth be told."
"Mom, is it finally over? I'm tired... I want to sleep..." Celes yawned.
"Yes, it's over, dear," Nia said, caressing his head. "Oh? Look, Maria's back."
"Oooh! Yeah! And she brought a new friend? A red-skinned demon guy!" Celes said.
Maria returned with everyone, greeting them with a calm smile before apologizing.
"I'm sorry for causing so much chaos. Things should definitely not have ended like this," Maria sighed. "But it was also not our fault. The White Mist Immortal knows more about this, of course."
