"Anyway, what is going on?!" Maria demanded, eyes narrowing as the pyramids began to merge.
"T-The Prince has ordered the second pyramid to fuse with the mothership...!"
"H-He’s planning to draw the power of the Divine Tomb and transform the pyramid into a mechanical embodiment..."
"Ah, damn bastard, he’s getting desperate. Let’s hurry!" Maria snapped. She poured her ghostly powers into the entire Pyramid, seizing full control and hurtling it forward at maximum speed.
"W-Wait! Please wait!"
"We’re going to crash!"
"We’re going to craaaash!"
Panic erupted inside as the massive Pyramid slammed into the other two during their fusion, unleashing a colossal explosion of flames and crackling electricity.
BOOOM!
"Yeah, this is my style of doing things!" Maria laughed wildly. "I did the same thing with that Heavenly Palace, after all. Hahaha!"
Within the mothership pyramid, the presence of Ameth-Ra, Third Prince of the Anubis Family of Thebes, surged forth. It coalesced into a towering golden titan vaguely shaped like a humanoid jackal.
"YOU DARE?!"
His voice thundered across the sky as divine power overflowed, and the giant struck at the interfering pyramid with overwhelming force.
Massive fists ripped through its armor, shaking everything inside.
"The prince is furious!"
"Aaaggh! We’re going to die!"
"Again?!"
Maria studied the colossal ethereal form as it fully manifested.
"What is this thing? It’s not a Martial Soul, right?" she asked.
"I-It’s the Divinity Power that every member of the God Families possesses!"
"They usually channel enough to fuel their machines, but..."
"The Prince has the talent to fully manifest his Divinity into a solid form!"
"Divinity? Interesting. What power do your people draw from?" Maria pressed.
"W-What?!"
"Golden Sand Essence...!"
"It permeates our original world, but we’ve also adapted to Mana, Ki, and Spirit Energy!"
"Interesting," Maria said, absorbing the information about her foes. "Okay, that’s enough, little prince."
Her six Martial Souls erupted into being.
TRUUUM!
"Ngh?! W-Wha...?!"
Ameth-Ra screamed in terror as all six nightmarish entities assaulted his Divinity Manifestation. The Golden Sand Essence flowing from it rapidly dissipated under their onslaught.
All six struck simultaneously, the golden aura weakening until he was forced to withdraw it entirely.
"AAAAGH, DAMN IT!"
As he howled in frustration, the mothership pyramid underwent a violent transformation, reshaping into a gigantic mechanical jackal-headed god.
"Anubis, huh?" Maria murmured, watching the titan rise. Its enormous fists, surging with black divinity, smashed the first pyramid aside.
BOOOM!
The structure hurtled downward, and everyone inside braced for impact with the ground below. But it held steady, brimming with Maria’s ghostly energy.
"HAHAHAHA! GAZE UPON THE MAGNIFICENCE OF LORD ANUBIS! HIS POWER NOW FUELS THE CORE OF THIS PYRAMID!"
"It really became a giant mecha!" Maria exclaimed. "I thought we weren’t allowed to get bigger?"
"It seems the restriction only applies to living beings," Bobby explained. "Anything inanimate—machines, tools, weapons—is unregulated."
"Well then, I can play the same game, Ameth!" Maria’s aura exploded outward. Her six Martial Souls flooded every circuit of the Pyramid, possessing it completely.
She activated three key skills: [Abyssal Dreamforge: Lv2], [Voidsculpt Dominion: Lv2], and [Mechanical Repair: Lv10]. Miasma, darkness, shadows, void, nightmares, and dreams surged through the colossal structure.
"What are you even talking about?! YOU DELUSIONAL WOMAN! PERISH THIS INSTANT IN THE NAME OF LORD ANUBIS!"
Anubis’s claws descended in a storm of golden and black energy, tearing into the smaller pyramid’s defenses.
Behind the titan, a giant balance materialized above its back and head, glowing with ethereal judgment.
"You are a dark being of incredible sin. You are sentenced to hell! Hahahah!"
Maria was deemed guilty by Anubis’s Balancing Power. A blinding divine light overwhelmed her, draining her stats.
But it meant nothing to her.
"Lucifer, Nyx, I hope you don’t mind if I borrow some of your power?"
"I don’t mind," Lucifer replied calmly.
"Me neither, mama!" Nyx chirped.
"Alright!" Maria said.
She infused draconic energy throughout the entire pyramid.
And then...
CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
Metal groaned and reshaped as the gigantic golden pyramid transformed into a massive golden-and-black dragon, studded with gleaming jewels.
Its mechanical wings unfurled like razor-sharp blades, blazing with Abyssal Death Flames and White Void Flames.
Robotic eyes snapped open, glowing fierce blue and red, while its aura thrummed with draconic, divine, and ghostly might.
Maria had turned the pyramid into a colossal dragon mecha under her command.
"ROOOAAARRR!"
"W-What?! What sort of ridiculous nonsense is this?! You think you can stand against the power of Anubis?!"
Ameth-Ra laughed maniacally and summoned twin golden scythes from his aura, forging them from sand-like nanobots born of his divinity.
"PERISH!"
The scythes slashed downward, clashing against the dragon—only for its tail to intercept both and shove them aside, throwing the giant Anubis off balance in midair.
"RAAAHHHH!"
The dragon roared, jaws parting to unleash a devastating breath attack that tore a gaping hole through the mecha Anubis, sending shards of metal scattering everywhere!
BOOOM!
"D-DAMN IT!"
Desperation gripped Ameth-Ra once more. Anubis attacked in a frenzy, flickering in and out of sight as it melted into shadows within the night.
"I WON’T LOSE! NOT AFTER COMING THIS FAR! WHOEVER YOU ARE, YOU MUST DIE!"
"My god, do you have to scream so much?" Maria sighed.
The dragon swiftly detected Anubis creeping up from behind through its shadow, seized its claws, and crushed them with crushing force.
CRASH!
"Aaaah!"
Ameth-Ra panicked as the dragon gripped his mecha’s arm. Then its jaws snapped shut, biting through Anubis’s head and ripping it clean off.
Simultaneously, its claws pierced the titan’s body, pummeling it relentlessly.
"No...! No, no, no! NOOOO!"
Ameth-Ra’s screams rose in horror. His aura flared wildly, erupting with beams of light and thousands of ghostly specters as he desperately activated more of Anubis’s power.
With a single mental command from Maria, however, every specter turned against him, assaulting him with nightmares and curses.
"Aaaaaaggh!"
He clutched his head in torment as the mecha dragon delivered another breath attack, piercing straight through the giant’s chest and shattering its core. The colossal machine lost all power.
BOOOMMM!!!
A section exploded violently, debris raining down as the mechanical titan crashed into the ground below in a storm of fire and wreckage...
The dragon hovered above, flames slowly fading from its mechanical jaws.
"Phew! Without a proper formation, this is more mentally taxing than I imagined..." Maria laughed. "But that was fun!"
"Y-You did it!" Bobby cried.
"She really did!" Christine giggled.
"The damned pyramids are gone! Yes!" Wrecker roared with laughter.
"This is such good news! Everyone at Couch City will celebrate!" Itsy danced wildly on his spring-like legs.
"We can’t declare victory yet," Lucifer warned. "Look down there! They’re trying to escape!"
