Chapter 1827: You’re All Mine Now

-----

After Susanoo offered to teach Nyx the way of the sword, the little dragon responded with surprising disinterest.

"Ehhh, I don’t like swords," Nyx shrugged.

"Eh?!" Susanoo gasped, visibly heartbroken. "I-I see... that’s totally... totally fine."

A short while later, Lucifer emerged from another room where he had spent roughly fifteen minutes with Maria doing "something" that left him noticeably calmer.

Maria wore a faintly perverted smile for some reason, while Lucifer looked deeply embarrassed.

"He’s alright now, don’t worry, Susanoo," Maria said. "Dragons tend to be impulsive, that’s all."

"Hmph! Don’t think I’m accepting you into the family yet, you hear me?" Lucifer huffed, deliberately avoiding Susanoo’s gaze.

"Hahah, don’t worry, I don’t plan on stealing anything from you," Susanoo replied. "Anyway, this place is boring! How about we head to heaven and throw a feast? Come on!"

"Yaaaay!" The children cheered, leaping straight into Susanoo’s portal. Everyone else followed close behind.

Soon afterward, they enjoyed a grand feast inside Amaterasu’s divine palace. She and Tsukuyomi had decided to join as well.

Both siblings fixed Susanoo with piercing glares that made him squirm nervously.

"Don’t think you’ll get off so easily this time, Susanoo," Amaterasu warned.

"You’ve reached a new level of shamelessness, brother," Tsukuyomi sighed.

"I already said I’m sorry!" Susanoo protested. "Ugh..."

"Please don’t direct all your hatred at him," Maria interjected. "I was the one who started it. If anyone deserves your anger, it should be me too."

"...No, we can’t do that. You’re our guest," Amaterasu replied.

"And Susanoo is the man—he has to take responsibility!" Tsukuyomi added.

"Well... if Maria is fine with what happened, then I suppose we’re family now?" Amaterasu mused. "I don’t mind being your sister-in-law, Maria."

"I... I guess not me either! Haha, welcome!" Tsukuyomi smiled warmly.

"Ahh!" Susanoo looked stunned. "Maria, don’t accept their kindness so easily! They act nice on the surface, but they’re absolute lunatics! Look at their eyes—they’re thrilled because you’re so strong. They just want to use you!"

"Oi, Susanoo! Stop talking about your sister and brother like that!" Amaterasu kicked his leg.

"Oh please, don’t listen to him. He’s so childish sometimes," Tsukuyomi said, waving a fan to hide a sly, snake-like smile.

"Haaa... whatever. So about the alliance—all good?" Maria asked.

"Yes," Amaterasu confirmed. "You have my approval."

"And mine!" Tsukuyomi added.

"Naturally. You don’t even need to ask, my beloved," Susanoo nodded, furrowing his thick black eyebrows.

With their full support secured, Maria had gained a powerful new ally. Zipangu was now firmly in her grasp!

"Then let’s do the soul contract," Maria said with a smile. "I mean, the soul vow! Hahaha..."

"Huh?"

The three gods began to sweat as ethereal chains wrapped around their necks and souls.

Maria’s face twisted into a deeply unsettling, creepy grin that even unnerved Susanoo.

"I-I think I’m the victim here..." Susanoo trembled.

"Hehehe, you’re mine now..." Maria giggled, her expression pure serpentine menace. "You’re all mine! Hehe... Hahahahaha!"

The three Kami refused to admit it aloud, but her sudden shift made them quietly regret their choice.

Yet, quite literally, there was no turning back now.

"I’m joking! Calm down," Maria said, bursting into laughter. "Here, have some snacks from another world! And veggies and fruits!"

She swiftly switched back to her cheerful self and began sharing her treats.

"A-Ah, haha..." Susanoo laughed nervously, biting into a large tomato. "Hmm?! The hell! This is good! Where did you find this?!"

"It’s from Verdelore," Maria explained. "They grow the best vegetables and fruits."

"And what is this bubbly, sugary drink I can’t stop guzzling?" Amaterasu asked, sipping from a bottle of cola. "Burp— Ah! Excuse me..." She covered her mouth shyly.

"Hmm! This is chocolate, right?!" Tsukuyomi exclaimed. "Ahhh! It’s wonderful!"

"Heheh, have lots of snacks," Maria encouraged. "You’re gods, but you’re too stuck-up sometimes. Enjoy life’s small pleasures too."

And so, as everyone savored delicious food during a lively breakfast and a new alliance took shape, Maria prepared to leave.

"You’re going already?!" Susanoo asked in disbelief. "You’re not even staying a week?"

"I’m in a hurry to reach Earth," Maria replied. "Sorry, but I can’t right now... You said you couldn’t come with me, and that’s fine. You have to protect this world. But once everything’s finished, we’ll have plenty of time."

"Alright," Susanoo nodded. He wasn’t the type to cry over departures. "I will be waiting for you... you’re the only woman I will ever love, Maria."

"Aw, you’re so sweet," Maria smiled, kissing him. "Take care and read the manuals I left you, okay?"

"I’ll read them while thinking of you. That will elevate me to even higher realms," Susanoo said solemnly. "Thank you."

"Ah, right! All of you, touch this." Maria held up a heart-shaped pink crystal. As they touched it, all three Kami manifested Dream Hearts.

"So this is what my niece got!" Amaterasu said.

"A heart?!" Tsukuyomi asked.

"Ahhh! A sword! I knew it!" Susanoo celebrated, gripping a brand-new sword that had appeared out of thin air—his Dream Heart.

His siblings were still struggling to summon theirs.

It would take some time, after all.

"You’ll get there," Maria assured them. "Alright, we’ll get going. Susanoo, we can stay in touch anytime through this. Put it on."

She handed him a ring set with a transparent, ghostly jewel.

"A wedding ring?!" he gasped. "But I should be the one giving you one first, Maria!"

"Hahaha, it’s not that!" Maria laughed. "It’s a cross-world communication device. Use it to talk to me if you need help or feel lonely."

"A-Ah, I don’t need it for that..." Susanoo muttered, trying to act nonchalant.

"Sure. Well, keep it anyway," Maria said. "Let’s go!"

She descended with her family and stepped through the portal to the next world.

As they pierced through dimensional membranes, they arrived on floor 19.

A vast grassland stretched before them, dotted with snow-covered mountains, distant forests, and cold glaciers near the sea.

The air felt crisp, dry, and carried the faint metallic tang of blood and rust.

In the distance, a massive Viking war raged without warning.

They were slaughtering each other mercilessly...

"What the hell? Is this a war?" Maria wondered aloud. "Right, this world... it must be that world!"

"Which world?" Partner asked.

"This is Valhalla—the realm Odin and his family came from!" Maria exclaimed.

"They’re that low?!" Partner asked, stunned.

"I can’t believe it! I thought they were refugees from a destroyed world or something," Nia said.

"No, I’m fairly sure this is it..." Maria replied, scanning the horizon. "But since they left, thousands of years have passed. By now, no one must remember them."

Maria and her family advanced across the grasslands toward the ongoing battle.

With a single thought, the Void forced the warriors to halt their massacre.

Then Maria, Emeraldine, Alma, Celes, and Jonathan healed every wounded fighter, bringing the entire war to an abrupt end.

Hundreds of men and women turned toward Maria and her group, their bloodshot eyes wide with shock and fury.

"Hello. I don’t like wars, so I decided to stop this one," Maria said calmly. "Hate me all you want—you can’t do anything against me. Now stand still."
