Reborn: The Return of the Villainous Mr. Liu-Chapter 1136: Pleasing the sisters-in-law

It had taken some while for Guiying to calm down but eventually she did. From utter disbelief to shedding tears of grief, her lips now lit up with a bright smile.

"You are getting married!"

It was a known fact for a long time now but now that she was looking at Alix as Zhan Yahui, the joy to see her dearest sister getting married was immeasurable and nonetheless in the family where her best friend, Ai was married too.

"I cannot believe you, Ai and Xing Bi are sister-in-laws..."

That wasn’t a combination Guiying had ever imagined to be possible. In fact, Zhan Yahui getting married in itself was what she couldn’t picture. Not because she felt she didn’t deserve it but Yahui had always looked disinterested in that concept. She had never even been in a relationship before.

"And what about Liu Jin? H-He really treats you well, right? I know that they are a good family but..."

"Treats me well?" She touched her chin. "I always see dog ears on his head and his eyes are always shining so brightly and his grin is very infectious. I don’t think he would show that range of colorful emotions if he hated me. On the contrary, I wanted to be far away from him all this time."

Her eyes held a distant look. "He practically dragged me into his world."

She looked back at her. "He took a sexual assault accusation upon himself. I think you should question his sanity, not his love."

"And what about you? Do you love him too?"

It was the kind of question Alix always had trouble answering.

She simply smiled. "I want to give that answer to Jin first."

Guiying’s eyes teared up again and she cried for a second time.

"Okay, I really cannot deal with your tears now."

"I-I have so many things to talk to you about."

"I know."

"I don’t know where to start..."

"I know."

"You were gone for seven years..."

"I know."

"I feel like stealing you away for myself," she sniffled, her eyes red.

"Yeah, Jin wouldn’t be too thrilled with that. He would hunt you down."

A chuckle escaped her lips.

A knock sounded at the door and Leina’s voice came. "Can we come in? It’s time for you to get ready."

Guiying quickly wiped her eyes. "Can I help you wear your wedding dress?"

"Isn’t that why I called you?" She raised her brow. "I told you today because I want you to compliment my looks."

Her brow twitched. But her heart continued to race and thud in her chest. She could only thank the stars that allowed for this miracle to happen.

A miracle that reunited her with her lost sister.

The din of firecrackers, loud gongs and drums marked the start of the procession from the groom’s home. With an equivalent ritual to Alix’s hair dressing being completed on Jin’s side as well, the Liu family was on its way heading to the Ren family’s villa.

"Am I looking okay? Show me the mirror!"

Ai glared and took it away. "You have checked yourself for the hundredth time already and you are looking the most handsome groom I have ever seen! So don’t be nervous and get ready to see the most beautiful bride in the world!"

Taio and Yina were jumping all over the car, happy and cheerful.

"Uncle, don’t be nervous!"

Taio gravely nodded.

It was a custom to accompany the procession with children as a good luck omen of the groom’s children.

Jin fanned himself. "You think so?"

"The rabbit is cute!"

"..."

Ai nodded at that.

"Rabbit?"

Jinhai, who was seated in the front seat, looked back with a slightly tilted head.

Nian laughed. "Jini-boy is a rabbit, Dad. His wife is a wolf. That’s the brilliant assessment my daughter has made!"

"Oh."

Jinhai looked thoughtful for a second and then turned ahead.

"What? Hey, say something! Somebody has to protest!"

Nuo adjusted his hair and grinned. "How is my niece wrong? My brother is definitely the cutest rabbit."

"You-"

"Okay, okay, we are here now! Be ready!"

"Yes," Jin breathed out, his heart pounding in his chest the entire time.

The moment was finally here when he would meet Alix today, the bride he had been impatiently waiting for. Only he knew how seven days had gone by in her absence. Yes, he did break the tradition and sneaked out to meet her in between but that was a tightly guarded secret between him and Ai.

As the procession was welcomed with firecrackers and music, Jin was halted by his three women in the front who refused him entry.

Leina cleared her throat. "What do you think you are doing, brother-in-law?"

Jin blinked. "I’m here to take Alix."

Xing Bi smiled. "It’s not gonna be a smooth way. Do you think we will just let you in? Meeting Alix wouldn’t be so easy."

Mui sneered. "Especially in my watch."

The glint in her eyes felt to Jin as if filled with extra scrutiny and attitude and he knew why. It was Mui who had helped him sneak into the house and meet Alix and then saved him from getting caught too.

He cleared his throat. "What do you want?"

"So many red packets that I would go blind. Try to be a cheapskate and you can forget about ever getting to meet sis," she smirked.

As ordered, Jin took out ’lots’ of red packets to please his sister-in-laws. Their eyes brightened and lips drooled with the money with the mountain piling.

Mui wasn’t satisfied yet. "I also want exclusive membership of some very popular fashion and beauty stores."

The memberships were pricey enough to make anybody puke out blood.

"Sure."

There was really nothing else than lots of red packets and lots of memberships that Mui wanted so she was thoroughly pleased.

"Can I come in now?"

Liu Hai sneered. "You think you will get an easy access as long as I’m here!?"

"So tell me where I should dump your body? I will make it quick," he grimaced.

"You monster!"

"If you would be a bone in my way, then the only right thing to do is eliminate the bone."

"You monster x 100 times!"

Nuo puckered her lips. "Don’t bully my little brother, Grandpa. Please let him meet his dearest bride no? I will make lots of sweets for you!"

Liu Hai beamed. "Really!"

Nian rolled his eyes.

Always the sucker for granddaughter.

Ren Cuifen smiled. "Come in. Alix is waiting for you."
