Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 544: Battle Planet
"What is the way?" Kael asked telepathically.
His lumps moved back and forth as his golden figure tore through the grassy plains.
"Why should I tell you?" An ancient but familiar voice came from Kael’s side.
The illusory head of a lion was floating beside Kael and keeping up with his insane speed.
This head was very familiar, it was the head of Jin the Purger.
Jin, this fake one, was brought to existence because of Kael’s powerful spirit powers and his warp effect. It wouldn’t last and it wasn’t permanent, but Kael found it useful anyway.
He was using the same technique that he used to summon Silax’s illusory figure.
This Jin was just as stubborn as Kael had imagined. With scars decorating some parts of his head, he stared at Kael fiercely as if challenging him.
"I need to find it, Jin, I need to find it and get out of here as soon as possible," Kael said.
The muscles on his hind legs bulged and he leaped into the air, jumping over a boulder that suddenly rose from the ground.
The land was changing again.
Behind him, boosted by multiple times and spatial fold enhancements, his consorts worked together to keep up with him.
Countless jagged rocks and boulders rose from the ground, blocking the way of the many lion kings running through the field.
A large piece of the ground exploded after an earth lion unintentionally bumped into one of the rising rocks underground.
Besides that, the lions still reacted fast and continued on their way. They easily scaled or jumped the rocks, some even bashed their bodies through, their speed not diminishing in the slightest.
"Aah, this looks better than how I left it," The illusory Jin said with a satisfied smile on his face.
He seemed oblivious to the fact that he wasn’t the real Jin and was just a spirit projection from the memories left behind.
"Hmm, don’t make this hard. I brought you so that you could assist me and give me some advantages, not tell me what’s fair and isn’t," Kael said, irritated.
He didn’t mean to sound disrespectful but this Jin was really getting on his nerves. He had a lot of respect for the real legend but he didn’t like the fact that this illusory one was not being helpful at all.
The illusory Jin rolled his eyes, "You could have just read through the memories, couldn’t you. Why bring me out here?"
"Because I need YOU, not your memories," Kael said with all levels of seriousness.
Jin’s memories could only provide him with all that, memories. But these illusory figures whose existence was supported by the warp effect did not only had the memories, they could also think almost like the real deal.
Indeed, besides memories, this illusory floating head could think almost the same way the real Jin would have thought.
As for why Kael could only construct the head and not the full body, it wasn’t because he was running or needed convenience, it was because of this world.
The use of the warp effect was heavily suppressed. Although not heavily to the point that it couldn’t be used, its functionality to each individual was now limited.
It was the reason why all of them were running or flying with their wings. At tier 6, the lion kings should be able to just warp their powers to fly unobstructed through the sky.
But since they were limited, they settled for the old ways but still used the warp effect in whatever way they could.
Jin’s head went silent. The memories showed that he had designed this place to serve as a breeding ground for a true warrior capable of wielding the gauntlet.
"Are you willing to sacrifice a body part to use the gauntlet?" Fake Jin suddenly asked solemnly.
The scars in his illusory face twitched. It was a pity that no one except Kael could see this head of the amazing legendary Purger.
"No," Kael answered almost immediately.
Jin’s head nodded, "Then why do you fight for it?"
Kael chuckled, "Isn’t the Gauntlet a god level artifact? According to the rumors, that is.
I’m sure there are other ways to put such a powerful weapon to good use.
Or do you take my lack of sacrifice for weakness?" Kael asked, genuinely seeking Jin’s opinion.
"No," Jin looked away, understanding that this was no longer his era and there was no point trying to make things difficult.
It was a sad reality.
The lions needed all the advantage they could get.
"This place was designed to be full of challenges.
Even if you want to find my Gauntlet, it would not be easy, I didn’t make it easy at all."
Jin finally decided to speak and be helpful.
"I terraformed this planet knowing fully well that some immortals might try to take the Gauntlet for themselves.
So this world is filled to the brim with suppressions.
The land constantly changes to support the concept of an unpredictable battlefield. It was this same concept I used to design training grounds during my time..."
"Hmm," Kael frowned, he had never heard of these types of training grounds before in heaven, perhaps they weren’t that much left behind from his era after the chaos that Derylia brought.
"No natural power can make a planet capable of suppressing and immortal. Not even my residual power can do that as it may only last a few centuries before fading away.
I suspect that the time since my demise has been much longer than that.
The only way I could create this battle planet and maintain it for a long time was through a core or a power source that I was sure would never falter.
A power source that I knew everyone sought after, but you couldn’t take it without destroying this world in the process.
One just needs to think of how such a planet like this can exist and it would all make sense..."
"Wait, you can’t be saying..." Kael suddenly stopped, stuffing his limbs and his front paws created shallow trenches in the ground for hundreds of meters.
His consorts were surprised and tried to stop their movements too.
"Yes," Jin nodded his head with a proud look.
"The Gauntlet is the power source of this planet, and it lies at the core of everything in this world."
