Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 591: Addiction
Leonine Heaven, close to the edge of the heavenly realm.
A lone and extra-large floating continent drifted aimlessly through the gold-infused multicolored void.
This floating continent was just as large as the continent which the Massive Black Pyramid was built on. The main difference was that this continent had multiple smaller pyramids instead of one big and large pyramid.
The number of pyramids that were on this continent was numerous and there were a lot of lions and lionesses moving about.
At least, there should be more than fifty thousand average-sized pyramids spread across this floating continent.
Some pyramids were naturally bigger or smaller than others. But despite the large number of pyramids here, the floating continent still didn’t feel crowded.
"Hey guys, it’s time to collect rent!" A thunderous voice echoed from the sky.
The kinks and lionesses that were outside subconsciously looked up to see a group of lion kings descending from one of the many arkships flying through the sky.
This place wasn’t just an average continent, some lions were literally paying rent to be here.
But why?
There was an abundance of floating lands and planets within Leonine Heaven, why would anyone want to rent space here when they could have a world to themselves?
Besides, lions were supposed to be very territorial. Even though they may cooperate sometimes, it doesn’t mean they want to be living within a super stone-throw away from each other.
So the only reason why so many lions could be here was if there was something here that brought all of them to this place and also forced them to live in peace with each other.
But on a closer look at the lions and lionesses here, one could tell that there was something different about them.
They seemed...different, in a good way.
They were beautiful, that would be the best way to describe them.
Some lions and lionesses had changed into their humanoid forms and it could be seen that these humanoid appearances were extremely attractive to the ordinary eye.
It was hard to compare them to any other lions of heaven in terms of attractiveness.
Another thing here was that these lions and lionesses all had a strong obsessive bluntness in their eyes.
They looked at the group of Kings descending from the sky with reluctance and resentment.
They were addicted to what they had become in essence and it made them feel bad for themselves and hateful to the kings who had brought this fate to them.
It was just like those who had joined the lion system and were addicted to the features and experience brought about by the Conquering Essence.
It was the same here, except it was a foreign Essence that didn’t belong to this heaven at all.
"Don’t look at us that way," One of the kings said.
This Lion King was covered in flames and had wings. He had a fierce expression on his face as he descended with a mighty unforgivable aura.
"Your payment will allow us to be able to gather more resources that we can use to protect this place from those Primordial Supporters.
You know how they are, they won’t spare us if they find this place..." Another gentle King said.
"Gauss, no need to explain too much to them, just collect the rent," The winged flaming lion King said.
"Easy on them, Elijah, they are dependent," Gauss, the gentle veggie lion king said to the flaming lion King.
"Not my business," Elijah said, "Remember, let’s gather the rent and use it to escape heaven. We should be able to live our lives well in a galaxy far away from any official lion activities."
Elijah said the last part with telepathy.
These were the same kings who were also colleagues of Pagast. They were spies for the Dragon Empress.
Currently, they were planning a get away plan to escape heaven.
With the way things were, they had to escape the Primordial Supporters and the Dragon Empress at the same time.
Many of their former partners had already been caught by the members of the Primordial Supporters and killed on the spot.
For anyone with even a hint of destruction essence within them, no mercy was given.
They were planning on escaping in a way that would make the Dragon still consider them useful but also keep them far away from the lions of the Primordial Supporters.
"Okay! Start paying up," One of the other Lion Kings who had come with them shouted as all of them descended to collect the rent.
As for what will happen to this place when they are gone? Elijah and Gauss couldn’t afford to care about it.
These traitors had merely been using this place as a cover for the true crimes they were committing in case any faction like the Shadow Tyranny was to investigate.
They made it look like all they were snuggling was the foreign essence of another Primordial.
After all, before now, everyone was free to bring their vassal subordinates into heaven. There was no problem with it.
So even if they found out, they would just think of it as some Lion clan that was lucky to have a Primordial born amongst their vassals.
So it was not weird if there was a foreign essence being passed around.
However, this was just a cover for the more sinister Destruction Essence to have spread to the traitors.
Any other foreign essence would have been looked over with a casual gaze but Destruction Essence?
Even if Kael did not come by, most lions would still consider such individuals as traitors.
"Who’s that?" Gauss suddenly asked as he spotted two figures walking casually through the land of the continent.
They did not seem to be heading into any pyramid at all, just strolling around and sightseeing.
Although the distance between those two figures and Gauss was great, at least several hundred thousand kilometers, he could still make out the oddity in them.
Or rather, it was their normalcy that made them stand out.
They did not walk the same way the main inhabitants of this continent walked, with their heads facing down as if they were constantly trying to check themselves and see if they looked alright.
Their shoulders were aligned and straightened, and their aura seemed normal.
As they got closer, Gauss was able to identify the two humanoids as females.
"Isn’t it too late to be coming to this place? The All-King will shut it down soon," One particular Lion King said absent-mindedly after glancing at the two humanoid figures.
He was thinking in the same direction as everyone. Since the Primordial Supporters were taking over and from the looks of their momentum, they wouldn’t be stopping, why would anyone still come here?
It had already been made clear to as many lions as possible that harbouring the vassals or the essence of any Primordial in heaven was a serious crime and a sin against the Lionhood.
From the appearance of those two figures, it was clear that they were new here.
Were they that desperate to look a bit pretty that they not only want to risk getting addicted to themselves and the essence, they also don’t fear the All-King’s wrath?
Elijah, the most paranoid among them, was receiving rent payment from one lioness in the form of precious gems when he heard the conversation between Gauss and the others.
He turned to look at the two figures.
He was a chimera with both Fire Lionheart and Air Lionheart. His Air Lionheart came with the innate gift of better eyesight.
Lions all had enhanced visions but his was among the exceptional ones.
With just a glance, he was able to catch a better view of those two figures than any other king present.
*Growl!*
Elijah growled, his burning claws sinking deep into the melting ground.
"It’s them!" He roared as he spread out his wings, causing a violent heatwave to spread out of his body.
"Who?" Gauss asked but Elijahad had already flown over his head to rush toward the two figures.
Seeing Elijah acting this way, the others did not take it lightly. Elijah could be impulsive but his paranoia had saved them many times.
Meanwhile, Elijah quickly closed up on the two figures and was able to confirm his guesses.
"Consorts of the All-King!" Elijah roared.
Indeed, the two figures that had mysteriously appeared and looked out of place here were none other than Kael’s consorts.
Olivia and Zabita to be precise.
Currently, Olivia had a dark expression and was looking at Zabita with a dangerous glare.
"I warned you that we shouldn’t come here," Olivia muttered to Zabita.
But Zabita didn’t seem to be disturbed by the fact that they had been discovered. With her black shaded eyelids lazily falling over her eyes, she looked at Elijah deeply with eyes full of understanding and nonchalance.
"There’s nothing to worry about Olivia, this one is scared," Zabita chuckled, rubbing her metal nails on the skin of her palm.
