Chapter 609: Chapter 609: The Oppressive Voice

The flames burst from Eleanor’s massive eyes and washed over Vixy’s body, leaving nothing but ashes behind to serve as evidence of Vixy’s demise.

Just like that, she was dead, a testament to how sudden death could come to anyone in this brutal universe.

Ivana screamed, performing a soundless cry for nine to hear.

The times she and Vixy spent together flashed in the mind of the little Primordial.

But there was nothing she could do.

A sickening look I delight appeared in Eleanor’s eyes. She could hear the rejoicing of the residual wills of the elders in her mind.

So this was how it felt to watch someone she hated suffer? She loved this feeling very much.

She didn’t just hate the Primordial Fox though, Eleanor hated all the foxes and peacocks in existence.

It didn’t matter who they were; as foxes and peacocks, Eleanor would have a gut-wrenching hatred for them that had never truly been satisfied.

After all, the two races were the literal reason why she had to grow up without her mother.

Just as she was born, her mother was dissolved into ashes after the process of giving birth.

It was disheartening. Eleanor had watched the creatures of other races grow up with their mothers and families. She had wondered countless times why the Phoenix race couldn’t experience the same thing.

Seeing this Primordial Fox lose a loved one was so self-fulfilling that Eleanor felt that she had actually done something meaningful.

"There there, little runt," Eleanor said, "Save your tears for later."

After she said that, the fiery strings stretched their ends and attached themselves to Eleanor’s head, binding Ivana to the giant Phoenix.

And so, she flapped her wings.

Eleanor’s claws were ripped out of the arkship and all the air that had been pressured to stay within was forced out immediately.

Luckily, most of the foxes had escaped by now from the chamber world and with the giant Phoenix leaving, a lot of the arkship’s systems could come back online.

Inside the arkship, Ralph felt the sudden pull of the surrounding air which was cut off when a metal seal grew around the hole that he made when crashing into this chamber world.

This world was safe, but the Primordial Fox was not.

This was not acceptable.

Ralph, still in his icy blue flaming wolf form did not know what to do but stand there and think. He was helpless.

This was already far beyond anything the inhabitants of Planet Kareem could imagine.

Even if he wanted to do something, what could he do? He had been planted away with one casual attack. If not for his body being augmented with Frost Fire, he would have probably died from that single attack.

Just as Ralph was contemplating what to do...

*MOOOOOO...*

The moo of a buffalo reached his ears.

He brought his head down and looked around to see that there were still some buffalos around not too far from him.

These buffalo should have formed a mega herd not long ago and they would usually be huddling up together.

But because of the Phoenix attack and the heat that shot down from those artificial skies, they had all scattered with many trying to escape out of the chamber world.

However, now that Ralph was looking around, he could see that these buffaloes who had paused whatever they were doing at some point were dazed.

He remembered that because of Natalia, many creatures on the arkship had begun to fall into a trance of some sort but this one was different.

Those creatures would usually fall asleep as if they were about to have a dream.

These buffaloes were still awake.

What was really eerie was the fact that all of them, irrespective of where they were or how far they were from each other, were looking in the same direction.

Like zombies drawn to the smell of brains, the buffalo looked to the west, at the distant chamber wall.

There was nothing there.

The Buffalos were not looking at the wall, they were not looking at anything in particular, they were just facing the direction of something very important to them.

"Could it..." Ralph stammered. This was similar to how the wolves had acted when they saw him. For a moment, it was like they could sense his presence unless he intentionally hid from them.

That was how this one was right now.

Suddenly, a semi-transparent screen appeared in front of Ralph, it was a chat from His Majesty.

A direct message that had been delivered to every Primordial.

Kael: What’s going on here? 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Outside the arkship, Eleanor flapped her wings and began to fly away.

Once she kept this Primordial Fox in captivity among other Phoenixes, she would be able to have peace of mind.

Just as she was about to fly out of this star system, she felt a disturbance.

Space and time warped and collapsed.

In front of her, a massive heavenly gate opened, causing Eleanor’s eyes to widen.

Only the top races could have a heaven to themselves. The Phoenix might be powerful compared to a lot of creatures but when out against the average civilization capable of owning their own heaven, they were no match at all.

One could imagine what went on in Eleanor’s head as she saw this heavenly gate which was multicolored but had a lot of gold mixed in it.

Whoever owned this heavenly gate, was coming from heaven. And anyone descending from heaven should at least be on the same level as Ma’abu and his former coalition of kings.

It was not strange that she would use Ma’abu as a basis for judgment.

Unfortunately, her judgment was off, way off, so off that it was unbelievable when she found out.

Before her eyes, multiple arkships rushed out of the heavenly gates, each carrying the mighty and majestic aura of a lion king.

More than ninety arkships had come through the heavenly gate before it closed.

Out of all the arkships, one of them stood out in particular, not because of the design, which was very normal and indistinguishable from the others.

But because Eleanor could feel a very threatening presence from this particular arkship.

She narrowed her brows, Ivana which was plastered to Eleanor’s forehead breathed in and out in panic, surviving on the little atmospheric particles around the giant Phoenix.

"Hmm," An oppressive voice spread out in the form of a tyrannical telepathic wave.

"Where is Vixy?" The owner of the oppressive voice asked, throwing the starry space into a crushing silence.
