Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 619: The Web
Kael had found what he came to do.
Natalia and the millions of spiders were escorted from mine arkship to another using a metal latch that connected the two arkships together.
The new arkship that was given to the spider caste was meant solely for the spiders and their operations.
It was fitted with the standard three hundred and thirty-three chamber words of which a standard chamber of command was among.
It had more than ten thousand magic shuttles parked inside in case they would ever need to take on operations on a smaller scale.
The Spider Arkship also had standard defense mechanisms and up-to-date weapon systems, so they were all covered.
It was equipped with very intense levels of distress signal emissions designed to alert any of the other chosen arkships automatically in case of emergency.
These distress signals were linked to the warp engines and could travel across galaxies to contact the nearest friendly arkship.
That was just one of the many layers of defense Kael had prepared for them.
Natalia didn’t waste time, she walked her large white body to the chamber of command and sat on the throne.
Immediately, she began to spin webs from the back of her abdomen with her pointy white legs, soon wrapping herself in her cocoon once again.
The spiders around her went to work. It seemed like they had found a new purpose.
They started connecting themselves, linking thick cables of webs to all the chamber worlds.
At the same time, the arkship was set to drift and not go anywhere in particular. The autopilot system would intentionally avoid any place with signs of activity.
As for food, the Great Connection would handle it.
Each spider began to fiddle around with the screens in front of their faces.
Natalia, who was now wrapped in her cocoon, also observed the system in detail.
She saw the list of spider identity marks and realized that there were a lot more spiders linked to the Spider System.
"How?" She had asked.
There had to be at least more than thirty billion spider identity marks on this Spider System, but her arkship had only about a few tens of millions.
This meant that there were a lot of spiders in unknown locations who had also joined the Spider System.
What she was yet to know was that this was the result of Kael making some further changes recently with the Vassals Fusion feature.
Now, the spiders that had been linked to the newly created spider system were not just the spiders in his personal spider caste, but the spiders that had been serving as subordinates for other Lion clans.
Natalia didn’t think much of it, she was too excited to worry about such a mystery. Once the arkship was prepped for Drift, she sat comfortably in her cocoon and activated the Connection.
Instantly, all the spiders on the arkship were connected to Natalia, and Natalia was connected to them.
The aimless conversation began once again.
But deep down, they knew that this was not the goal, so Natalia pushed forward, using the Spider system as a base and following Kael’s instructions.
She connected herself to Kael and Kael connected himself to her.
On another arkship that orbited the Spider Arkship, Kael sat motionless with his eyes focused on the golden screens flashing in front of him.
Different screens flashed in and out of existence around Kael as he rapidly upgraded the systems.
He wasn’t just upgrading the Lion System, but the seven lesser systems that had been created for those seven Primordials.
Kael’s golden eyes blurred terribly with their light of runes and spirit energy. Millions of simulations and calculations were initiated within that very second.
"Greetings, Your Majesty."
Suddenly, a monotone voice sounded from within Kael’s mind.
Only he could hear it, like an A. I implant, Natalia had connected to him.
"Well done," Kael said before resuming his work. His mind split into different segments once again to handle the load of work he was doing.
"Shall I begin the Integration, Your Majesty?" Natalia asked.
Kael did not say anything yet. He was almost done.
The golden screens continued to flash for a few more seconds and then...
They stopped.
The chamber of command grew dark again. The glow in Kael’s eyes shimmered to a low.
"Begin!" Kael commanded.
Immediately, he felt a pull, a very harsh pull at the back of his mind.
It wasn’t physical, just a side effect of connecting himself to what was going on.
Natalia alone could not serve as the only hub and medium for this integration. No, Kael would not allow that.
Not only will she be incredibly burdened, but she will also have access to a lot of informational power.
So, Kael was going to join in, but only at the surface level. His own mind would act as the fail-safe, and both of them would anchor themselves to the integration.
And so, it began.
In Leonine Heaven.
Something happened.
The vast number of Primordial Supporters who were still working hard to rid their world of traitors and sinners, suddenly paused.
Everywhere they were, they all stopped what they were doing.
They looked around. Those who were close to their comrades could see the confusion in their eyes.
For a second, they thought the Primordial Lion had died.
The Lion System had gone off, just like that. Then it came in again almost a second later.
How come?
And the screens were showing something. A bar with a percentage reading appeared in front of them.
[Integration in Progress: 50%
... 60%
75%
89%
90%
99%
100%
The Great Connection has been Established!]
The lions and lionesses read the texts but they were also surprised that they could hear a voice in their heads.
There was something different about the lion system now, the lions noticed as they scrolled through the forums and chats.
It no longer felt automated.
One particular Lion King sat up in his bed in his pyramid. He ignored the groans of his consorts behind him and stared with a frown at the golden screen.
A voice spoke to him.
[Greetings Your Royal Majesty, I am The Web, The Great Connection.
I shall now connect you to the mission platforms of the lesser systems.
Let me know if you need anything else.]
