Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 621: Unnecessary Fight
"WEI! COME BACK!" 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
A thunderous cry echoed in the vast sky of this barren planet.
Still, it didn’t stop the tiny figure from piercing through the clouds and speeding toward the sandy desert below.
The figure did not light up with flames as it sped through the atmosphere as one would think.
The gravity of this world was moderate, slightly higher than normal but any average human would easily get used to it after being here for a few minutes.
The unknown figure fell from the sky, drawing a thick white line from above.
Before the figure reached the sandy ground, the sands moved and multiple insect-like creatures came out of the desert land to see what was coming down.
*BOOM!*
The figure smashed straight into the ground. There was a wave of sand and something like moisture that spread out everywhere.
At the point of impact where a crater had now formed, a shattered drop pod lay at the center.
And standing amidst the wreckage of this shattered drop pod was the grown-up Wei.
Tall, blue skin, long curly black hair, and an obsessed expression on her face.
"Just as the All-King did when he went to the battle planet..." Wei said to herself as she looked around her with a strange smile.
"WEI! HOW DARE YOU COME HERE!" An angry voice came from above.
Wei looked up to see a magic shuttle coming down from the sky. Its magic runes glowed and blared out with tangible power.
The waves from the hover engines blew the sands away and caused Wei’s hair to be blown to the side.
Still, Wei looked at the shuttle with barely any fear in her eyes.
The shuttle paused above, blocking the sun.
Soon, the hatch opened and another humanoid female appeared.
"Wei, what do you think you are doing? You’re not meant to be here!" The figure asked, folding her four hands into fists.
Instead of responding, Wei rolled her eyes and turned away to look at the vast desert. She saw no need to talk to this humanoid Earth Lioness.
"Don’t ignore me! Who told you about this place, I demand that you tell me!" The Earth Lioness shouted.
The grains of sand below started to vibrate in response to the Earth Lioness’s emotions.
Wei frowned, her greenish-yellow eyes staring up at the sky, "The same person who told them," She muttered.
The Earth Lioness heard her and subconsciously looked up to see what Wei was also looking at.
To her shock, multiple drop pods could be seen speeding through the clouds before they crashed down in different parts of the desert.
The wind blew and the Earth Lioness was able to perceive the scent of many other lionesses.
Her expression darkened. How could this be possible?
Her father, a lion king, had bought this planet recently after she had investigated and searched tirelessly for anomalies that could serve as evidence of the existence of certain Primordials.
This planet had been one of the very few she had discovered to have been recorded with strange anomalies.
Plus, the previous owner had left it alone, not even collecting tributes from the creatures inhabiting it.
According to the previous owner, it wasn’t worth it.
Her father had bought the planet from the previous owner in hopes that she would be able to go down and possibly discover a Primordial.
Only N’bayé, Zabita, and Olivia had appeared on the ranking board. If she, someone who was not even a consort, could appear on the ranking board next, she would definitely gain the All-King’s attention.
Imagine her rage when she was coming to this mysterious planet when a strangely well-placed heavenly gate had appeared just above the high orbit of the planet.
And out of the heavenly gate came Wei’s personal magic shuttle.
The only reason why Wei would be here is if she also knew of the anomaly of this planet.
The Earth Lioness had been naive, her father only paid the previous owner for the planet, and he never paid the previous owner to keep his mouth shut.
Obviously, the previous owner of the planet, for a little payment of Conquering Points, had spoken at length about the anomalies to those who asked.
"No..." The Earth Lioness stammered, she looked up to see hundreds of magic shuttles hovering above the clouds in the sky.
She frowned. It was worrying to have so many competitors all of a sudden, but why had all of them including Wei used drop pods?
Was there something she didn’t know?
"You, Wei!" The Earth Lioness pointed at Wei. It was clear that she knew about Wei as she had been addressing the latter by her name all this time.
Wei didn’t mind. She knew that a lot of lionesses knew her and the history she had. She had come to accept it and was determined to slap all those laughing at her with crushing results.
"Why did you not come with your shuttle?" She asked with genuine confusion.
Hearing the question, Wei chuckled and began walking away.
"It seemed you and your father had more money than common sense. Or maybe you are too confident..."
Wei muttered the last part before her voice trailed into silence. She was not going to warn her competitor.
"Hey, I’m technically the owner of this planet!" The Earth Lioness shouted as she ran toward Wei.
*BAM!*
The shuttle that had been hovering dozens of meters off the ground was struck hard by something that shot out of the sand.
Countless sand grains were blasted everywhere as a long slithering creature shot out of the ground.
Through the shadows visible in the dust, the stunned Earth Lioness could make out the numerous, long, and pointy legs attached to the thing that came out of the ground.
The dust cleared, and both the Earth Lioness and Wei were able to see the creature that had emerged from the ground.
It was a giant centipede, a really giant centipede.
It was black all over with metallic plates acting as its exoskeleton. The two piercers at the edge of its mouth shine under the midday sun.
The centipede slithered around the shuttle with a staggering length of about two hundred meters. It was hard to tell from where the Earth Lioness was standing.
Right before her eyes, her magic shuttle was destroyed, picked apart one after the other.
"I wouldn’t do that if I were you," Wei warned as she sensed the aura of the Earth Lioness rising.
But the Earth Lioness did not listen. She raised her four arms to the sky, roared at the top of her lungs, and launched herself at the apparent foe.
Wei narrowed her eyes.
The Earth Lioness was strong, she would likely win, but she would also come out of the fight with some injuries.
She would have had a better chance if she had still been inside the shuttle.
Alas, to Wei, this fight could have been avoided.
This was literally a barren planet with little to no resources. The creatures of this world were starving.
They needed everything, from water, to rare metals.
The surface of the planet was looking so plain because most of the creatures that lived on the surface were unintelligent prey for the actual predators that thrived in subterranean cities underground.
These predators would hunt down anything that seemed of value to them, not because they wanted to, but because they had no choice.
They were all moved by Fear and Despair.
It wasn’t like there wasn’t an option to control the magic shuttle remotely. Wei raised her hand to her abundant chest to touch the necklace hanging from her neck.
With this necklace, she could control her magic shuttle just in case there was any emergency.
The Earth Lioness had been blinded, believing the knowledge she had alone almost with the resources at her disposal would allow her to succeed.
She had prepared everything except her mind.
That was her mistake.
Wei walked away from the battle. She saw it as a significant waste of energy and something unnecessary.
Her eyes were set on the bigger targets.
Wei reviewed the information she had gotten into her head.
This planet was home to many creatures but three particular faces had stood out for a long time now to dominate the barren world.
The centipedes, the snakes, and the worms.
All three were enemies with each other.
Wei had a plan, no, she had an idea. But she didn’t have the power to enact that idea at all.
She was still tier 4. Compared to her target, she was very weak.
But this was the best time to go after it. If not, they would soon become too powerful to be confined to the gravity of this planet.
By then, it would be incredibly hard to find it again.
"Hmmm," With a fearless heart, Wei walked, using the map shown at the edge of her vision to navigate toward her desired location.
Just then...
