Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 622: A Chance
As Wei and hundreds of other lionesses began to explore the desert planet in hopes of becoming the All-King’s consort, another serious event was happening billions of light-years away in another galaxy.
"Chloe, they’re waiting for us..." Alora said to Chloe as she stood at the edge of the hatch.
Alora looked down at the circular opening, which revealed the arena below.
The wind and the cries of battle-hardened beasts entered her ears from below but it did not even cause her to frown.
She just stared down at the visible arena blankly.
"Do we need to do this?" Chloe asked as she approached in her humanoid form, wearing a rather timid expression.
The light from below shone on her face and illuminated the black feathers on her two massive wings.
"I don’t," Alora said with a shoulder shrug, "But you do.
Let this be your redemption, Chloe. Use this opportunity to show Kael that you have not lost your fire.
If not, I don’t need to tell you just how many lionesses are slaughtering their way through the cosmos just for a chance to replace you.
Chloe, you do not want to miss this opportunity," Alora’s voice was stern.
Even with her cold heart, she still wanted to carry Chloe along.
Chloe sighed, acknowledging the danger and effort Alora was going through just to give her a fighting chance.
She did not say anything. Now was not the time for excuses, now was not the time to complain.
Now was the time for action.
"CHALLENGERS! SHOW YOURSELF!" A booming voice rose from below, causing the metallic ground to vibrate.
"Hmm," Alora narrowed her eyes.
They did not come with any backup whatsoever.
No Lion King escorts or anything. Just the two of them in this private arkship.
Normally, Alora would have never even thought of doing this if not for the fact that she still had her heavenly beacon with her.
Perhaps, Kael had decided that taking away the Heavenly Beacon was not necessary yet so he left it with her and has not spoken about it ever since then.
Because of the heavenly beacon, Alora and Chloe were confident in their ability to escape any danger they did not have the power to handle.
And if they couldn’t, they would just ask Kael to come to their rescue, or put a mission out for other creatures to come and save them.
The Web that had been activated a few moments ago would be very helpful in this situation.
They had already heard the news about Zabita and Olivia being rescued by Kael and they didn’t want that to happen to them.
As a matter of fact, they couldn’t stop here right now. All they needed to do was alert Kael that they had found the Primordials and the All-King would show up to handle the rest his own way.
Unfortunately, if they did this, the contribution points they would get would be fewer.
The Consort Trial mission had stated clearly that the lionesses could assist the All-King in the capture of the Primordials ’’any means possible’.
So, if there was an option to challenge these Primordials by themselves, Alora chose that.
Not just for Chloe to prove herself, but also to prove to Kael that she was aligned with his vision and goals.
"Let’s go," Alora said before stepping off the edge of the circular gap and jumping down.
The wind blew her white hair up as she descended at incredible speed. Her attire was revealed to be a dark blue combat suit.
Alora’s weight was immense. As her feet touched the ground, it shattered, cracks spread and a shallow crater was formed.
The dust particles swam through the air around her, almost clouding her view.
On the stands surrounding the arena, the creatures could make out two menacing glowing blue eyes peeking through the dust.
Alora took in a deep breath, then exhaled violently. A cold air rushed forth, dispersing the dust and revealing Alora’s form.
She looked around with her piercing blue eyes to see the creature seated on the arena stands.
Bears, both humanoid and in their true forms.
There were also some winged creatures flapping their wings and shouting at the top of their voices.
Falcons.
This was the territory of the Bear and Falcon Coalition.
The combined cheers rang out, causing the air and ground to vibrate.
Alora narrowed her eyes, readying herself for a battle as her aura rose sharply.
"This one is strong!" A loud booming voice came from behind her. She turned her head to the side slightly to see that a massive figure was casually walking toward her.
Up above, more than five kilometers in the sky, their magic shuttle hovered in the sky, flanked by other shuttles of strange design.
Their arkship itself was parked in high orbit.
"Is the other one not coming?" The massive figure asked with a nasty toothy grin. He did not speak the lion language, but another language that was unique to this coalition and its people.
His accent was very strong and his tone was that of someone who had never taken no for an answer.
He was tall, easily more than seven feet from Alora’s rough measurement. His skin was tanned and well-toned with rippling wave-like muscles all over his body.
His waist was wide and his shoulders were wider. This physique would have made Exalon look small.
And yet, despite how big this guy was, he moved very casually with an abnormal level of speed.
There was no lag in his steps from his thighs rubbing against each other.
There was even a certain lightness to his steps, like a ballerina with years of experience.
This was agility beyond what Alora could understand.
Alora turned around fully to face the beast of a humanoid figure.
"So, you’re the one who wants to challenge D’Dei?" The massive figure asked, referring to himself in third person for some reason.
Alora nodded, softening her cold expression, "Yes, and if I win, you will follow me to seek an audience with the All-King," She stated her terms, speaking the same language as this Bear Primordial.
"Hahahaha!," D’Dei paused his steps and laughed heartily, "You heaven-born lions and your arrogance. How many of you has D’Dei skinned alive to make coats?
D’Dei can’t remember, Hahahaha!
And what if you lose, white lioness?"
D’Dei asked, speaking like a true warrior who could not comprehend the concept of defeat.
Alora smiled, "If I lose?" Her eyes brightened, "Then the All-King will come to you himself..."
