Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 623: Marvelous Arena
Chloe took in a deep breath, looking down at the arena where Alora had jumped down.
She knew that she had to follow soon enough, she couldn’t just leave Alora to face all that by herself.
Her sensitive ears could hear the conversation going on between Alora and the figure that just appeared.
She had learned the foreign language before coming along with Alora to ensure that there was no confusion.
It was just as Alora had told the massive muscular figure, she wanted to challenge the Primordial Bear.
The Primordial Bear was affiliated with combat, by its own nature, it could not ignore a challenge so easily and sleep properly.
Since he was born, he had never been defeated in a fight, not once. He didn’t even understand the concept of defeat, but he knew what disrespect was.
He knew that he would lose respect if he did not accept the challenge. After all, these challengers had come from heaven just to see him.
Chloe sighed once again as she thought of Alora’s plan. She didn’t understand it, this Primordial Bear had never been defeated in his life before, what made her think she could defeat him now?
"And what if you lose?"
Chloe heard the Primordial Bear ask.
It was only when she heard Alora’s response that the fog cleared away.
’Of course,’ she thought to herself. It was technically a win-win situation.
If they win? Fine.
If they lost? Also fine.
Either way, whatever happens here today will be enough to cause Kael to give this place some serious attention.
Chloe smiled. This Bear and Falcon Coalition might be strong, but that was it.
Compared to the lion hegemony of heaven, they were just a bigger, more troublesome ant. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Where is the other one? Is she a scaredy cat?" The Primordial Bear asked, causing Chloe to narrow her eyes.
Down below, Alora did not answer.
Suddenly, another voice echoed across the arena grounds.
"This is a test of might! There are rules!
Rule one! Only your humanoid forms are allowed.
Rule Two! You must seize all actions when one party admits defeat...
Rule Three!...."
The announcer listed the rules plainly for all to hear. There were some simple rules to ensure that the fight was fair.
Also, both sides knew the background of each other.
The bears and falcons knew that if they accidentally killed this lioness, trouble would come.
Alora also didn’t seem to have any strong killing intent for their Primordial Bear, so they allowed it.
However, rules can easily be broken so everyone was on edge.
One of the rules explicitly banned the use of external items.
This was very important as some fighters were known to consider their weapons as part of themselves.
Alora agreed to this, her ice was the only weapon she had ever known.
Chloe, still standing inside the drop section of the shuttle, took in a deep breath again.
It was now or never.
She closed her eyes, trying to calm herself and force her mind into battle-mode.
She was more scared of failure at the moment.
Just when she was changing her demeanor...
*BOOM!*
A thunderous bang echoed out, followed by a crash and the loud cheers of the spectators.
Chloe opened her eyes and immediately flapped her wings. She shot down with a flurry of black wind surrounding her.
She looked down and what she saw made her expression darken.
Alora’s body was lodged firmly into the concrete stage wall. The wall was very strong for it to have withstood whatever force that had caused this.
Alora gazed out blankly, a little shocked at what had just happened.
She had been caught off guard.
How could something so big move so fast?
And then, her white eyebrows furrowed.
He shifted her body, pulling her arms and legs out of the wall, and launched herself into the sky.
Almost immediately, something crashed into the wall where she had just been. The wall.was completely demolished and the spectators close by were drenched in dust and rubble.
Still, they cheered on at the top of their lungs, screaming as if there was no tomorrow.
"Fight!
Fight!
Fight!
Fight!..."
The bears and falcons changed in and on.
While in mid-air, Alora turned around, creating two incredibly dense ice swords in her hands.
She crossed the two swords in front of her.
At the same moment, the Primordial Bear, D’Dei, who had crashed into the stage wall, leaped into the sky in pursuit of Alora.
With his right arm pulled back, he punched out, delivering a terrifying blow that connected with the sharp edges of Alora’s crossed sword.
In that split second, flesh was torn. The shockwave was powerful, spreading out due to just physical strength alone.
Alora was blasted backward, one of her ice swords shattering into countless cold shards.
The other sword was fractured. Alora’s hands trembled with numbness but her blue gaze was set on D’Dei who fell roughly to the ground.
Suddenly, two hands and a gust of wind caught Alora by the waist before she could fall.
"Are you alright?" Chloe asked, flapping her wings and flying down.
"He’s stronger than me!" Alora admitted, "He’s going all out right from the start!"
"Do you want us to give up?" Chloe asked as she set Alora on the ground.
Alora frowned, "Chloe, your timidity is starting to get on my nerves.
No one likes a scaredy cat, Chloe."
*BOOM!*
Alora erected an ice wall, blocking the punch from D’Dei.
The loud boom seems to awaken the suppressed killer instinct that had been slumbering within Chloe all this time.
Her heartbeat spiked, her hazel eyes dilated. She dashed out, flying above the ice wall and slashing down, sending a powerful black wind blade that slashed deep into the earth, creating a deep ravine.
Alora glanced at Chloe, then jumped away again.
She understood it now.
It was clear to her.
Chloe was like this, not because she wanted to, but because she was comfortable.
She had been wondering why Chloe had slowly changed from a fierce and free-spirited lioness to a timid consort who didn’t want to do anything.
The answer had been staring at her in the face all this time.
Chloe had been out of a comfort zone that gave her everything she wanted for very little work.
Everyone expected her to have all these resources and still put in some work. Everyone was different, she wasn’t like the other lionesses.
Alora was reflecting on all the things she knew about Chloe since they were little and was starting to realize that Chloe was operating at her best when she was put in an unfamiliar environment.
When they had gone on that expedition to Eridoria, Chloe had spoken endlessly about exploring, she was even excited about it.
Back in heaven, it had been the same thing.
If Kael were able to look into the mind of Alora, he too would be able to see the patterns she was seeing.
Chloe was just like those women who had dreams and aspirations but because they grew comfortable too fast, they let it all go to focus on other things.
Ever since she became Kael’s consort, she had been confined to the areas around him, not really going anywhere else unless it was necessary.
That was not Chloe’s nature.
Suddenly, Alora knew what to do to bring the original Chloe back.
But first, they had to finish what they were doing here.
*BAM!*
With her arms covered in frost gauntlets, Alora exchanged blows with D’Dei. Their fists crossed together hundreds of times per second.
Alora burned through her extra pool of Conquering Essence to keep on fighting.
At the same time, Chloe, now pushed into a stressful situation, attacked relentlessly.
Thousands of black wind blades, more ferocious than ever, rained down on D’Dei from all angles.
It didn’t matter where he ran to or how he evaded, the Primordial Bear was cut.
However, the Primordial Bear still in his humanoid form was no pushover. Even though he was fighting against Alora and Chloe, he wasn’t the least bit having a disadvantage.
Actually, Alora and Chloe were the ones who were barely holding on.
This was only natural, D’Dei had Combat Essence flowing through every nook and cranny of his powerful body, turning him into the ultimate fighting machine.
The closer he was to conceptual defeat, the stronger he became. His strength, his speed, the control of his muscles, the sensitivity of his nose, his bones, his skin, his teeth, his claws.
Everything was enhanced by the Combat Essence that flowed through his body.
The sound of frost swords, wind blades, and hard bear claws clashing with each other mixed with the cacophony of roars and cries from the spectators who were drowning in the ecstasy of watching such an intense fight.
This arena was simply marvelous, it was very wide, almost the length of a human-standard nation, also able to withstand strong blows from really powerful entities, but it wasn’t strong enough.
The grounds were shattered, chunks of rocks rising into the sky as the trio continuously streaked back and forth across the stage.
Meanwhile, at the highest point of the arena stands, a section that had been reserved for the upper echelons that wanted to watch this.
A group of elites was seated here, watching the battle with a calm expression, as if the outcome of this battle was of no use to them.
Among these elite bears and falcons were two creatures that stood out.
One was a large falcon more than three meters tall, standing straight with folded wings, narrowed eyes, and a sharp aura.
His body was covered in dark red feathers, with black outlines at the edges of the feathers, giving him an interesting color pattern.
His eyes were focused on the high-speed battle happening down below.
"So that’s the consort of the All-King that has been giving you trouble?" The large falcon asked, narrowing his sharp eyes.
"Yes," Someone responded from the side.
Surprisingly, the creature who responded wasn’t a falcon or a bear, but a familiar demonic horse.
