Chapter 648: Chapter 648: The Reversed Conquest

In the history of the dragon empires, the dragons were never known to be unintentional expansionists.

The dragons hardly went out of their way to subjugate other races and if they did, it was usually temporary.

The only races that the dragons bothered to keep permanently were the few sub-races that came from them.

The wyrms, the wyverns, the drakes, and many more lesser cousins who were not affiliated with any laws could be said to be direct Vassals of the dragon empire.

Besides them, the dragons just never seemed to show any significant interest in expansion for no reason.

After they got their own heaven, they hardly had any reason to fight for resources in the mortalverse.

They were more focused on consolidating and developing themselves while maintaining some alliances.

Anyone who allied with the dragons could at least be confident that the dragons would not suddenly turn to stab them in the back unless it was absolutely necessary.

This was unlike the lions who were hardcore expansionists. Lions would not know the meaning of prudence unless they could see the very edges of the universe, only then might they even consider stopping.

As long as the universe was infinite, for them, there was always going to be something to conquer.

President Musty knew the risk in allying with the Dragons and putting his own Law on the line. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Anything that was a weakness to the lions could be a serious weakness to him. If he supplied the reversed law essence to fight against the lions, that reversed law essence could also be used to fight him and his federation.

But President Musty was determined and equally ruthless. He wouldn’t allow all his work to reach his current level to go to waste.

So what if Kael was also ruthless and becoming powerful? As far as President Musty was concerned, only he could reach full embodiment.

If he couldn’t reach it, then no one was allowed to reach it. If he falls, everyone must fall with him.

That was his mindset.

He didn’t care about anything else.

Ibadon nodded, "It is a feasible plan, we shall begin as soon as possible.

But please, wait behind, a friend of mine has come from Original Heaven, he would like to speak with us."

Ibadon’s words surprised the crowd including President Musty.

Ibadon had a friend?

Meanwhile, Elizabeth was glancing casually at the five other Primordials standing in the midst of the governors.

She could not help but remember a certain Primordial Peacock that had once been her friend.

Surely, that Charvi of a beauty must have fallen into the hands of the All-King. Elizabeth had already received some news concerning the appearance of a fabulously beautiful peacock.

A sharp look appeared in her eyes before disappearing very fast.

A few seconds later, the harsh aura of freedom and liberty descended from the sky and wrapped around the individuals in the throne hall.

"Greetings motherfuckers..."

Kael had his legs crossed as he floated above the ground. His two palms were placed gently on his knees and his shoulders were relaxed.

Conquering Essence manifested around his body in the form of countless tiny dots of golden light that orbited his body.

He seemed to be meditating but he actually wasn’t.

His eyes were half-opened, the mellow glow of a killer shining dimly from the gaps in between his eyelids.

"Hmm," Kael hummed, "Something is actually blocking my path," He said calmly.

He has been trying to establish a connection so that he could channel his power to activate the Conqueror’s Mode Avatar.

Unfortunately, he has been unsuccessful in his previous attempts.

It wasn’t like a connection could not even be made.

Kael could see the identity marks of the lionesses who had been particularly for that particular expedition and had all gotten lost.

Usually, all he needed to do was pick the right identity mark and the rest would follow.

He would easily be able to channel a portion of his power into any lion and push them to temporarily break through one tier while merging himself with a part of their consciousness.

However, because of some kind of block occurring wherever they were, Kael was having trouble doing it.

He thought for some seconds, making some risk assessments before deciding to test something out.

The Connection Essence that had been sitting dormant inside him for a long time without use was suddenly spurred into restlessness.

Kael’s whole body seemed to take on a different aura entirely. His gold eyes were not inlaid with greyish-white speckles.

A slit also opened at the center of Kael’s forehead, revealing a grey third eye that scanned the list of identity marks in front of him.

Kael’s two main eyes were fully closed shut, a sign that he was about to focus all his attention on what he wanted to do.

The Connection Essence and the Conquering Essence mixed and merged with the Conquering Essence acting as the dominant catalyst and the Connection Essence being the methodology for what he wanted to do.

Kael drove the mixed power into the identity marks of the lost lionesses.

This time, there was a change in the signal Kael received.

Instantly, some identity marks disappeared. The number of identity marks Kael had originally been monitoring drastically reduced, causing him to be internally confused as he didn’t know what was happening at first.

Then he observed again, checking the nature of such disappearance.

Usually, the only way an identity mark would vanish from the identity mark list is if the lion or lioness defected which has never happened, or if they died.

The most likely explanation for this was that all these lionesses had died a long time ago but because they had previously been disconnected from the lion system, the system could not reflect this and remove their identity marks.

It wasn’t until Kael manually strengthened the connection that the lion system was able to pick up the signals.

Also, Kael was able to briefly read the statuses of the lionesses with the remaining identity marks and he couldn’t help but frown.

He could feel that something was actually trying to stop him from channeling his power into them. It was as if that thing was also trying to take hold of them from wherever they were and Kael was not having it at all.

With a calm expression on his face, Kael chose to focus his efforts on one particular participant. Once he could establish a connection with just one participant, then he could work his way from there to find the remaining.

Kael searched, scanning over the remaining list of identity marks one more time before finally settling on one in particular that he was very familiar with.

Wei.

She was also one of the participants and the main reason why this whole issue came to Kael’s attention.

Kael observed her identity marks and saw that they constantly pulsed, a sign that she was trying to resist a system invasion with all her might.

Such a strong will.

Kael focused on Wei. He channeled both his Conquering Essence and Connection Essence into the identity marks and pushed with significant force.

The identity mark glowed for a moment, showing signs of giving way. The Conqueror’s Mode Avatar began to activate.

Kael could feel the Conqueror’s Intent starting to take root in the mind of Wei once again.

"I am...Wei!" Wei desperately said as she tried to remind herself constantly who she was.

Her hand slammed on the sand, gripping the edges of a white hole with her long claws as she pulled herself out of the ground.

Her blue skin barely reflected any light as there was almost no source of light here.

Wei herself was producing more light from her eyes than most objects in this desert.

She tried to walk but she ended up collapsing and continuing her journey while crawling.

Her knees and palms rubbed against the harsh sands, causing her some discomfort even though they were mostly unable to do any serious harm.

She inhaled and exhaled steadily, bringing her mind to rest and back to panic with every circulation.

It was against her will.

She has been fighting for a long time now. The fear.

The one that creeps.

It’s been following her for a very long time now and she didn’t know how to get rid of it.

The moment she stopped trying to resist, that would be the end.

She looked around, her heart beating terrifyingly fast. Something was watching her silently in the darkness, she knew it.

How this thing could observe her and still observe the others she had come with was something she couldn’t afford to think about now.

All she wanted to do was resist. The fear was coming, her spine was tingling, her limbs were shaking.

She knew what she had seen, yet she didn’t.

It was so...

Wei gritted her teeth to cast out the unholy image from her mind and focused on resisting.

She didn’t know why she was resisting anymore, maybe she still had a bit of hope.

Maybe if she truly knew where she was, she would have given up, but she didn’t.

There was still that glimmer of hope that she thought of once in a while.

"I am...Wei..." She said once again as she felt the cold moist breath of that thing beside her neck.

She closed her eyes, choosing not to gaze at it.

And at the moment she closed her eyes, a change occurred in her aura.
