The following months were not as eventful as one would expect.

There were a lot of dangerous things that could happen at any moment, they could all feel it in the void, that faint warning from fate itself.

The war raged on and became more and more serious as time passed.

The lions had gone on full offensive when Kael released that mission with a reward for each target they killed or subjugated.

It worked but one could not expect the enemies to just sit down and wait for death. The lions wanted to conquer the world, but they would not let them do so so easily.

Instead of going on the offensive too, the dragons for some reason wanted to stay behind and defend.

Meanwhile, the horses and their many Vassals were the ones who took the role of the attackers in the alliance.

The cosmic gallop had begun, except it was way more terrifying than what anyone had actually imagined.

Perhaps, the horses had been underestimated for too long. Whatever piece of technology that they had found all those years ago must have been incredible.

What they lacked in individual might, they made up for in the form of customized arkships.

There were many.

Although not as powerful as the lions, they were just as populous. To think that they had achieved this level of civilization after a lucky encounter with a lost ruin from the ancient monkey civilization.

Of course, whatever pieces of technology they had found had long been deciphered and integrated into their daily lives so it wasn’t like there was some hidden artifact hidden out there under the hooves of the horses.

However, when the lions and the horses clashed with their vassals, one could tell that something was wrong.

Both sides didn’t really seem clear-headed, in good and bad ways.

Naturally, the lions on the cosmic battlefield were already dead drunk on the influence of the Lionhood Bar and the Conqueror’s Intent.

Their attacks were vicious, clean, and without mercy. They would sometimes subjugate the vassals of the horses but if they found a horse themselves, they would just kill them.

The Primordial Horse was currently supplying the dragons with reversed Conquering Essence. How could the lions forgive such blasphemy?

Such heresy?

Such sin?

To the ruthless lions, the horses were the perfect example of a heretic, a sinner, and a traitor, rolled up into one entity.

It was so disgusting.

The horses, as they were, were literal threats to the hegemony of the lions. They were direct competitors for the throne of universal overlord.

There was no mercy for competitors.

The flashes of bangs and explosions colored the vast expanse of the cosmic battlefield.

Cannon blasts tore through the hulls of arkships and wiped out vast fleets of shuttles.

Arkships that ran out of ammo clashed with each other, metal to metal, deciding their fate based on who had the best arkship manufacturer.

And when all else failed, it was flesh to flesh. The horses were not afraid of stomping the heads of the lions to meat paste, and the lions were glad to tear the horses limb from limb with their own claws.

However, there was something that had been noticed all this while..

The horses were not fighting at their full capacity.

Most of the damages were taken by the vassals that they had but the horses themselves seemed to be holding back seriously.

It wasn’t all of them though, just a recurring pattern that was noticed in some planet outposts.

It was later discovered that the horses were currently having an internal turmoil in their ranks.

There was a divide amongst them.

As expected, not everyone was stupid enough to be onboard with President Musty’s plan.

How could he use the reversed Conquering Essence to fight the lions knowing fully well that it could also be used against them?

This method of combat should be forbidden, according to many elders and traditionalists of the Horse Federation.

If Derylia had not attempted this before in the past, most would not know that it was possible.

It made many wonder if the Law of Conquering could be reversed simply by accepting a subordinate status, could the other laws be reversed under specific circumstances?

It didn’t matter anyway.

The current divide in the camps of the horses was serving the lions very well as they tore through one outpost after the other.

It didn’t matter if the horses were planning to defect or run away, what mattered to the lions was killing President Musty as fast as possible before it was too late.

This was the time the dragons finally showed their hand and decided to go on the offensive.

By this time, Emperor Zain had already been taking direct command of the Creation Dragons and following the strategy that Kael had ’proposed’.

In the Draconic Heaven, the civil war was hot.

The Creation Dragons took a curved route and attacked from the north while they maintained a defensive position from the east.

As for the central area, Emperor Zain took the liberty of ordering his generals to do what they liked with that place.

It was a battle of acquisition anyway, so the goal was to occupy more territory.

The central coverage of the Draconic Heaven became a center for interstellar guerrilla warfare. Apparently, when warp speed, stealth technology, and other things were factored in, guerrilla warfare was actually possible in space.

This made it so that the only place of peace that the destruction dragons had was the south and west coverage.

They could have attacked from the south but that was where they were hosting some of their allies and where most of the open Heavenly Gates were.

Alas, the methods of the Creation Dragons did not deter their winged cousins from doing what was intended.
