Chapter 470: The Dark Emperor

Third Person’s POV

Among that same group, only two people remained somewhat sensible.

They were none other than Falco and the girl who had been slapped hard by the dark prince a few days ago.1

Both of them wore expressions of discomfort as they felt the strange looks directed at their faction.

They could sense the shift in how the crowd was perceiving them now.

Yet neither of them dared to speak as the one who commanded their fate, the mysterious youngest prince, who had recently changed into someone far more frightening and unrecognizable compared to his previous indolent and trashy self, had not commented on Erik’s unhinged behavior at all.

As they helplessly watched Erik continue his mad, humiliating dance—clearly still suffering from the lingering mental damage of being brutally thrashed by Ethan, the dark prince’s brows slowly knitted together.

He finally turned toward Falco and the girl with a sharp and calculating gleam in his eyes.

"Cover me," he whispered in a low, controlled tone, "and don’t let anyone see what I’m about to do."

The two stiffened, startled by the gravity and suddenness in his voice, but they nodded quickly.

Without making a scene, they shifted their positions slightly and subtly blocked him from the sight of the crowd while pretending nothing unusual was happening.

Behind them, the dark prince’s expression darkened further as he realized that a second player had entered the board to claim what he already considered his prey and prize.

But he would not allow that, and for that, he needed to act quickly and decisively. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

With a controlled breath, he pulled back the sleeve of his robe and revealed a sinister, dark skull tattoo engraved into the pale skin of his thin wrist.

The skull was grotesque, and its empty eyes were hollow and deep, while a coiled black snake was etched around it, its head emerging from the skull’s mouth.

With his sharp black nails, the prince suddenly sliced his palm open.

Rivulets of thick and heavy dark beads of blood flowed out.

They were strangely vibrant as he guided it with eerie precision, manipulating it as though it were alive.

It defied gravity and crawled upward and slipped into the open mouth of the skull tattoo.

As the blood was absorbed, the skull’s eyes began to glow with a faint, unnatural light, and a chilling sensation spread through the air.

Slowly and impossibly, the skull detached from his wrist and floated in front of him.

In an instant, it grew larger and swelled until it reached the size of a human head.

Green flames ignited inside its hollow eye sockets and cast a sickly, eerie glow, while the ugly black snake coiling around it had also seemingly come alive as it started moving and flicking its forked tongue with a faint hiss.

The skull apparition was horrifying, grotesque, and steeped in ancient malice, yet strangely, not a single person turned toward it.

Not even Lady Raven, who was one of the two most powerful beings in the square, noticed its presence.

It was as if the skull existed outside the perception of the world itself and was hidden in a layer of unseen darkness that only its master could access.

And as the dark prince stared at it, his eyes gleamed with cold intent, ready to move his own piece in this deadly, unseen game.

Suddenly, the skull’s blackened teeth began to clatter against each other, producing an uneasy, scraping sound that echoed faintly in the air before slowly settling down.

A moment later, something that sounded disturbingly like a sigh escaped from its hollow mouth, and a hoarse, jarring voice rang out, as if two voices were overlapping and speaking at once.

"Why did you summon me, Dazon? Is there something important, or did you simply get yourself into trouble again?

What did you do this time? Did you rape some girl again or kill some unlucky brat?"

The voice was sinister, warped, and unsettling, yet when it addressed the young dark prince named Dazon, there was a strange hint of familiarity and twisted affection in its tone, making it sound oddly doting in its own grotesque way.

Hearing that voice, a strange gleam flashed deep within Dazon’s eyes.

It was hidden so far beneath the surface that not even the evil black skull floating before him could detect it.

But Dazon didn’t dally on his thought any longer and smiled calmly.

That single, quiet smile made the skull waver slightly in midair, as if it had been struck by something invisible.

The dark entity suddenly started feeling a bit unsettled because the young man standing before it no longer looked like the weak, whining, and useless son it had grown accustomed to.

Something about him felt different, and he suddenly had a feeling as if something inside him had changed overnight.

And before the skull could dwell on that uneasy feeling any longer, Dazon finally spoke.

"No, I didn’t rape anyone or start a pointless fight this time, Lord Father..."

As he uttered the word ’Father’, his voice paused for the faintest moment.

A strange sensation coiled deep inside the mysterious dark prince’s gut.

It was something cold and unfamiliar, but he suppressed it instantly and made sure that the dark skull, this twisted existence that was technically his father, did not notice even the slightest hesitation in him/

"Instead," Dazon continued smoothly, "I have a piece of very good news for you."

"Good news?" the skull echoed.

Its hollow eye sockets narrowed slightly, though it possessed no real eyelids, and the black snake coiled around it made a comical, confused expression, as if mirroring the thoughts of the being controlling it.

The true existence behind the skull, who was none other than the Dark Emperor of the Empire of Abyssal Dominion, one of the most terrifying beings in the entire Blood Veil Continent, simply found it hard to believe that his useless son could bring him anything that might actually be considered good news.
