Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)-Chapter 471: The Overlord Origin of Darkness
Third Person’s POV
Dazon did not answer immediately to his father’s confusion.
Instead, he leaned slightly forward and silently mouthed a few words, and the moment those words were conveyed through their strange connection, the dark emperor’s composure shattered.
"What did you say?" the skull roared, its voice suddenly sharp with disbelief.
"How is that even possible?!"
The green flames inside its eye sockets flared violently as shock and greed surged through the ancient, monstrous being.
"Wasn’t it supposed to exist only in legends? How could something like that truly exist in this world?"
The Dark Emperor, who was still manifesting through the eerie black skull, asked in a shaken and almost disbelieving voice.
And by the time the last word left him, it no longer sounded like a question directed at his son.
Instead, it became a low, disturbed murmur spoken to himself, as though he were trying to convince his own mind that what he had just heard was impossible.
His hollow eye sockets glowed faintly as he slowly lifted his gaze toward Dazon.
"Are you mistaken, son?" he asked again, this time more carefully.
"Are you truly certain about what you are claiming? Do you have any idea what you are saying?
Something of that level... something of that nature... should not be able to exist in this world at all."
The doubt in his words was unmistakable, as for all his intelligence and experience, he could not simply accept such a statement without proof.
He had ruled for too long, seen too much, and crushed too many false hopes to be swayed by mere words, especially when those words came from the mouth of his youngest and most disregarded son.
But Dazon had expected this response, and a faint, controlled smile appeared on his face as he replied calmly, his voice unusually steady.
"I am certain, Father. There is no mistake.
And if you still doubt me... then you should witness it yourself."
As he spoke, he brought his thumb and index finger together, forming a small, mysterious seal, and gently touched the center of his forehead.
At once, a deep, viscous darkness burst forth from that point.
It flowed like a living shadow as it spread outwards, forming a dark sphere around them.
In the next moment, tendrils of darkness originated from it and wrapped around the floating dark skull.
Seeing this phenomenon, the Dark Emperor’s apparition trembled slightly in surprise as he had never imagined that Dazon, whom he had always regarded as someone weak and unremarkable, could perform such a refined and difficult spell.
This spell was none other than The Dark Recollection.
It was a rare and demanding dark spell that allowed the caster to perfectly record what they had seen with their own eyes and replay it with astonishing accuracy, but it was not so easy to master even for mages of high level talent and aptitude.
Only those possessing a combination of abilities like very fine control over dark mana, high aptitude in darkness, and a calm mind could master it.
And since it was not a combat type dark spell, many young people didn’t even try to master it.
Especially when dark elemental forces were involved in the scene upon which the spell was used, the spell could even reproduce the same intensity of mana, the same atmospheric distortions, and the same oppressive feeling that had existed during the original event.
The darkness around the skull began to shift and thin, like ink dissolving in water.
Slowly, the vague shadows turned into shapes, and the outlines of people and structures formed inside it.
Finally, the entire square appeared.
If any of the new joiners could see this scene, they would instantly recognize it as the events that had happened in the square about half an hour ago.
The scene played out exactly as the dark prince, Dazon, had witnessed it, with every movement, every clash, and every subtle fluctuation of energy carefully reconstructed in haunting monochrome detail.
Although it lacked the vibrant colors of reality, the scene carried an eerie and unsettling clarity, as though it had been carved directly from the fabric of the real world itself.
The Dark Emperor watched in complete and absolute silence as the sequence of events replayed before him in full.
Then, Ethan’s dark eruption finally occurred, swallowing everything within the square in an instant.
The moment that overwhelming surge of darkness flooded the recreated space, the black skull visibly trembled and quivered.
Even though it was only a memory spell, the Dark Emperor could still feel the pure, terrifying, and crushing depth and quality carried by the darkness erupting from Ethan’s body.
Witnessing such a wondrous and horrifying display of power, his rigid composure finally shattered.
"There is no mistake... none at all!!!" he roared in uncontrollable excitement.
"That boy possesses the legendary Overlord Origin of Darkness!"
"Hehehe... hahaha... HAHAHAHAHA!"
The black skull shook violently as raw, unrestrained laughter poured endlessly from its mouth.
In that moment, the Dark Emperor forgot his dignity, his authority, and even the presence of his own son, as all that remained in his mind was the intoxicating vision of limitless power that would soon be within his grasp.
For a being as cold, calculating, and ruthlessly intelligent as the Dark Emperor to react this way revealed just how truly colossal and unprecedented this discovery was for him.
He continued laughing madly until, at last, he slowly calmed down with a grim and dangerous expression replacing his earlier mania as he whispered to himself in a voice only he could hear,
"With that... with that power, I will finally become a true god and claim my own fabled Overlord Origin."
As he said this, he had already started to imagine the moment he would break free from the chains of the Heaven Connection Realm, the so-called realm of forbidden existences that had restrained him for so long.
He would step into true godhood and stand above all other existences as an eternal ruler, holding boundless power and supreme dominion in the palm of his hand.
