Ruling the Historical Romance Novel as the Female Supporting Character-Chapter 302: If I Can’t Get Revenge, I’ll Make You Sick
"We’re not in a hurry right now. Let’s stock up a bit more and keep it fresh in the space. When the small business restrictions are lifted in a few years, I’ll take it out and sell it as seeds," Su Yijia suggested with a smile.
If there were good things and she could ensure her safety, she would definitely be willing to share them. Besides, these seeds could bring her enormous wealth. She could already make oil, whitening lotion, and hair growth solution, so she didn’t need the money from selling grain right now.
However, she was eager to get that set of experimental equipment to study the differences between Spirit Spring Water and the space soil.
After organizing the things in the space, Qin Kaize checked the time on his watch.
"It’s the hottest time of the day now. Should we take a nap before going out?" He thought about the stuffy heat outside and, considering the temperature, even hesitated to let his little wife leave the space.
Though there was an electric fan in the room, the temperature was still too high compared to the comfortable twenty-odd degrees in the space.
"No need. We need to buy a lot of things in the afternoon. Look at the drawing I made; it’s best if we find someone to make two of these oil-extraction machines," Su Yijia said, handing Qin Kaize her drawing.
Previously in Hu City, due to the lack of trustworthy help, she had made a disassemblable four-square device that used manual force. But with her husband’s help, Su Yijia felt much more at ease.
The drawing was of a pure iron cylindrical machine with many tiny holes. A thick horizontal rod had a hole, through which a threaded solid rod was inserted. By turning it, the material inside could be squeezed to extract oil.
"It will take three days to make this," Qin Kaize quickly assessed after looking at the drawing. Both the bucket and the rod needed to be sturdily made.
"What else do you want to buy?" He affectionately tapped Su Yijia’s nose.
Su Yijia thought for a moment, "How about buying a rocking chair? Then I can sit on it and keep you company. Also, let’s find someone to make a big bed so we can come in here to sleep when we have nothing else to do."
She finished and pressed her lips down, contemplating for a moment. "That’s it; I don’t think we need anything else."
Qin Kaize nodded, grabbing their bags, with the water bottle filled with cooled boiled water. He even brought hats and a fan, then took Su Yijia’s hand again. "Let’s go and say goodbye to Grandpa and Grandma."
"Grandpa and Grandma are probably taking a nap. Let’s not disturb them. Just leave a note," Su Yijia said, not daring to tell them they were going out at this time. They wouldn’t let them leave if they knew it was the hottest part of the day.
After leaving the room with Qin Kaize, Su Yijia was startled by the sound of the door closing. She quickly turned and gave him a shushing gesture.
Seeing the cautious look in her big, watery eyes, Qin Kaize’s heart melted. He bent down and gently pecked her small, upright nose.
Seeing her eyes widen in surprise, Qin Kaize secretly smirked. "Shall we go?" he silently mouthed.
Seeing her nod, the two tiptoed to the living room. Qin Kaize took out a piece of paper and left a note on the coffee table before tiptoeing out again.
Once outside the door, Su Yijia sighed in relief. But the ensuing heat made her want to rush back into the space immediately. Even though it was thirty-eight degrees, the island’s heat was different from other places. It was stifling and humid, like being thrown into a steamer.
"Maybe I should go alone," Qin Kaize said, noticing how red Su Yijia’s fair face had become from the heat, feeling distressed.
Su Yijia looked at him, originally wanting to snuggle and refuse. But in this hot weather, she didn’t even want to be close. She couldn’t understand how couples could hug and be affectionate on a basketball court in summer. It was no wonder she had always been single. If the system hadn’t given her a husband, she feared she might remain alone for life.
"No, I want to be with you," Su Yijia said, pressing her lips together and giving a stubborn hum.
His beloved little wife’s willingness to stay with him made Qin Kaize very happy. Not wanting Su Yijia to suffer, he quickly took out the fan, waving it to cool her while leading her to the pier.
At two o’clock, there was a boat leaving the island, and they waited less than ten minutes. Few people left the island at this time, and there were only seven or eight people on the entire boat.
Though Qin Kaize’s fan-waving was quite conspicuous, Su Yijia was formidable, and Qin Kaize’s fierce reputation for protecting his wife was more intimidating. So even if people thought they were exaggerated, no one dared to look at them too much.
Just as the boat was about to leave, a distant shout came from the shore.
"Captain, wait! I’m not on the boat yet. Wait for me."
The woman’s voice sounded somewhat familiar. Su Yijia furrowed her brows and leaned out to look.
Wang Futong, seeing her, immediately stopped and staggered back. She instinctively wanted to retreat but, seeing Su Yijia’s disdainful frown, straightened her back and continued rushing to the shore.
Hmph!
If this nasty woman didn’t want to see her, then she’d make sure to disgust this nasty woman!
If it weren’t for this vile person whispering in Qin Kaize’s ear, Qin Kaize wouldn’t have complained to the higher-ups, causing her to lose her job. She had only wanted to beg Qin Kaize for leniency, but this vile woman publicly humiliated her, making it impossible for her to hold her head high in the entire family quarters. Every look from others was filled with mockery.
What’s worse, Su Yijia knew that Xue Qianhao often hit her at home, but she only used it to threaten Xue Qianhao and did nothing to help her. As a result, Xue Qianhao became even more bold, hitting and scolding her whenever he was in a bad mood. Even her uncle and aunt no longer wanted to deal with her.
Although she had no way to deal with this vile woman, she could at least make this vile woman uncomfortable.
With this thought, Wang Futong boarded the ferry with heavy steps. Even though there were many empty seats, she deliberately chose the one behind Qin Kaize and Su Yijia. Sitting down silently, she fixed her sinister, snake-like eyes on Su Yijia.
This made Su Yijia’s spine tingle with discomfort. But she acted as if nothing was wrong, playing with Qin Kaize’s big hand.
Qin Kaize retracted his hand slightly and signaled Su Yijia to move to a different seat, away from the crazed woman.
But Su Yijia used a bit of force to pull him back down. Seeing Qin Kaize looking at her, she tilted her head, pursed her red lips, and gave a meaningful smile.
