Chapter 47: Tonight, you’re going to be my Omega

Kain Locke

Is it okay to go inside his room?

As far as I know, this place was supposed to be off limits, not just this place but everywhere you can look for him and find him, so since he obviously hated having people around him, he shouldn’t be inviting me inside his room right?

Exactly what I thought until now.

This man can’t be trusted. He’s proven that in more ways than I can count. So who knows what he’s going to do the moment I step inside?

Last time I was in a room with him, what he did was scent me against my will. Now if I go in there on my own, wasn’t I freely sending myself to him?

"We gotta see these for ourselves, right? You clearly saw for yourself. Who knows what else they’ve planted here?" he spread his arm like a lazy koala.

I crossed my arms, my eyes turning red with so much anger I could explode, "Then you should’ve stopped them when you had the chance." I clearly told him to do it, but he goes on about saying he’s letting them off because he’s related to the god of mercy!

He chuckled, shaking his head. "What fun would that be? Why stop them when I can just play the game with them?" he asked, looking at me like I was the one who didn’t get it.

"It’s just like chess you see... The queen doesn’t make reckless moves. But it’s nevertheless the most dangerous piece. It moves silently, striking when least expected. She hides, manipulates, controls the board without anyone realizing... And in the end?" He flicked the device onto the table with a small clink. "She dominates."

I stared at him, unblinking. "That makes no damn sense."

He shrugged. "Not everything has to make sense to work. Especially if they think you’re the one being played."

Now this is even more weird and confusing, which makes me wonder whether we are still discussing the chip, or about my reluctance to enter his room?

"Well," Kael stopped himself mid sentence, his fingers tapping lazily against the wood. "Come on in, will you? It’s part of our deal to obey me, right? Well, now’s one of those times I need you."

I didn’t move. Instead, I studied him, searching for any sign of a trick. Oh Lord, I didn’t want to enter. Who knows what sort of thing is breeding in there.. monster? Alligator? Crocodile? And the biggest predator of them all was him!

"If you try anything, I swear to God I will..." I let the threat hang, my fingers curling into fists.

Kael sighed, tilting his head with a smirk. "Always acting so dramatic. Do I look like I have the energy for that right now? Look I’m not about to jump on you, I’m a man of integrity, you see?"

I scoffed. "Yeah, integrity," my foot! A man of integrity who keeps being a thorn in others flesh and making them miserable, yeah, that sort of integrity which could be found only on a Draeven.

He just chuckled instead of answering, then he turned his back to me and strolled inside, leaving the door open.

Well, here goes nothing. I exhaled and I stepped inside, however, the first thing that hit me was how unnaturally clean the room was. Everything was in perfect order, no dust, no clutter, no clothes scattering around like every typical guy, nothing out of place. If anything It felt more like a showroom than a room someone actually lived in.

Did he even stay here?

I was still looking around when Kael shrugged off his coat, then pulled his shirt over his head like I wasn’t even there. He didn’t hesitate, didn’t care. Just stripped right there and walked toward the wardrobe like it was nothing.

But my attention wasn’t on that,

It was on his back.

Again.

The brutal lash marks from the other day stretched across his skin, some of them were dark and deep, others were faint but still visible. Even the ones that had healed left ugly scars behind, a painful reminder of whatever the hell he had gone through.

I had actually forgotten about them after helping him to treat them the other day. Or maybe I had just pushed it to the back of my mind so I don’t remember.

But seeing them now, right in front of me, clear as day made my stomach twist.

How does he walk around with this casually everyday like it’s nothing, and just like one of my unanswered questions, who the hell did this to him? And why?

I swallowed hard, my throat suddenly dry.

Kael turned around just then, catching me staring. His lips curled into that smug, insufferable smirk. "Never knew I looked so good. Have you finally learned to fancy me?" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "Not in this lifetime."

He chuckled, completely unfazed, like he was enjoying messing with me.

"Do you actually have something important to do, or should I just leave?" I asked, crossing my arms.

Kael tilted his head, watching me like he was trying to read something off my face. Then, without answering, he grabbed a white fancy and expensive looking clean shirt from the wardrobe and pulled it over his head, moving as if I hadn’t just spoken.

Typical.

"Gotta admit you’re a handful." He shook his head, rolling his shoulders as if I was some troublesome pet he had to deal with. "Anyway, since you’re already here, there’s something we need to do."

What does he mean by that? And we? "What is it?" I asked with a frown.

Kael just smirked, buttoning up his fresh shirt like he hadn’t just said that, "Don’t be such a curious cat darling. Just watch."

I crossed my arm, ignoring the endearment he just used for me, "Watch what, exactly?"

He turned to me, his smirk deepening. "Nothing you have to know, just know this one thing, tonight... you’re going to be my Omega."
