Space Odyssey: Spectre-Chapter 383: Arena of Warriors 3
Metal clashed together as Jace’s sword which was chipped at this point clashed against the Egyptian Warrior’s Khopesh. The warrior tried to pull back and disarm Jace again. But Jace hit him with his good shoulder. Pushing the warrior into the Spartan they were pushed back for a moment and the rock that was launched towards Jace he side stepped and it smashed the Egyptian warrior in the face.
Jace stabbed forward. His sword slid right through the Egyptian Warrior’s chest.
Crack!
Jace frowned as he heard a loud metal cracking noise and then lifted his hand to see that his longsword had broken at almost the hilt. The Egyptian Warrior was pushed to the side as they turned into dust. Their shield and khopesh dropped to the ground.
The Spartan jumped forward aiming to stab Jace with his sword. But Jace moved around him and grabbed his over extended arm while kicking back at his legs to put the Spartan off balance. Jace was flipping him over the air and slamming the Spartan into the ground.
There was a faint dinging noise as another rock hit the Spartan’s back. As soon as the Spartan was down, Jace crouched down and stabbed what remained of his long sword into the Spartan’s neck. It started turning into dust. Leaving behind its weapon and shield just like the others were doing.
Jace flipped the remains of the sword in his hand and threw it towards the warrior that was in the medieval garb who was slinging rocks at him. But as it flew through the air it was suddenly blocked by a large tower shield.
Jace clicked his tongue in annoyance as he watched the Roman Legionary move forward. The stone slinger followed behind him while pulling out a knife. Jace looked around the arena at the other warriors. There should be a third.
He reached down and grabbed the Spartan’s short sword with his hand that had the injured shoulder. While his other hand grabbed the Khopesh. He stood up and looked around and saw there were eight more enemy warriors left. Not including the golden stature of the Xenar that had not moved.
Jace felt a shiver and looked to the side to see a hand axe flying in his direction. He leaned back just in time and the hand axe embedded itself in the wall. Coming from the direction of the hand axe was a figure with a horned helmet, a wooden shield and covered in furs.
Jace dashed toward the Viking warrior and used the khopesh to pull the round wooden shield to the side. Then used the Spartan’s short sword to deflect the hand axe it was wielding. Then he kicked the Viking in the chest. Sending it flying backwards.
Jace turned as the Roman Legionary came down trying to slice down into Jace with his sword. Behind him the slingshot knight was moving around the Roman’s unshielded side with his knife ready.
Jace brought up the Khopesh and there was a clash of metal as he slid the unique sword slightly to the side and then pulled the Legionary forward with his sword. Jace slid past him and sliced right through the slingshot thrower’s head. Turning him into dust.
Jace then spun around and stabbed the sword into the Legionary’s back turning him into dust as well. He looked at the Viking who had already recovered. Jace had to lean out of the way as another hand axe flew toward him.
He began moving toward the Viking but also kept an eye on the last six opponents. He then had to dodge and roll as the Musketeer aimed their barrel in his direction.
Bang!
The round ball slammed into the stone wall as Jace had to block a thrown handaxe from the Viking. He had a moment so he looked and noticed that his next two opponents were the French Musketeer and the Persian Immortal.
Jace ran towards the Viking and slammed into their body. Causing them to stumble back. He had a limited amount of time. He had to take out the Musketeer quickly before it got lucky and hit. A crossbow bolt he could deal with. But one of those round lead balls? That would cause problems.
As the Viking stumbled, Jace ran around them and slid the short sword right into their back. As it was still turning into he let go of his sword and pulled the hand axe out of its hand and threw it at the Musketeer just as it finished reloading.
It found its place in the Musketeer’s head and they started turning into dust. Then he turned to the Persian Immortal who was running at him with his spear. He had to side step the attack but then he fell to the ground as the stab was turned into a sweep.
Jace rolled onto his back and then rolled to the side and kicked the Persian Immortal’s legs out from under him. As the Persian Immortal fell, Jace took the opportunity to climb up and glance at the last three warriors. None of them had moved from their place. Neither had the golden statue.
He spun back around and faced off against the Persian Immortal who had recovered. They both walked to the side opposite each other. Moving in a circle.
After a moment the Persian Immortal jumped forward and tried to stab him. Jace pushed the attack to the side with the khopesh and moved forward. Sparks occurring as the metal rubbed against metal.
Jace went to grab the Persian Immortal. But they dropped their spear and pulled a short sword. Immediately intending to cut him open. Jace had to stop and back peddle to dodge the attack. He then used the khopesh to deflect the attack.
Then as he went to recover he felt one of his feet hit something and glanced down for a moment. Then the Persian Immortal jumped forward intending to press the attack. Jace crouched down and picked up the object with his free hand and used the other one to block the attack.
He used the curve of the Khopesh to catch the edge of the Persian Immortals weapon and then pulled her to the side while he forced himself up and brought the hand axe in at an angle and cleaved into the side of the Persian Immortal’s head.
It began turning into dust and Jace took a moment to breath and rest. He could feel it the moment he entered the zone. He was able to fight despite the disadvantages. But now that his blood was no longer pumping he could feel the wounds that were mostly considered minor but had stacked up.
He turned to the last three warriors. The one in the center moved forward but the other two stayed still as the Samurai moved towards him.
It would seem that these three were different. He should not let down his guard.
