Star Gate-Chapter 1716: New Master of Skyward (I)

“Immense silence!” roared Void, depleting all of his dao strength to shatter the world and silence the heavens! “Light descends!”

The Light dao universe manifested so that Void could replenish himself from it. This put the Light master in a very awkward position indeed. Do I... stop him, or not?

He was here and his dao universe had stretched to Skyward major world. His son had seceded from the dao universe, but not entirely at the same time. Ming Tang was currently requisitioning endless Light strength to recover himself. Should he stop his son or not?

If he stopped his son, then Ming Tang would be in trouble.

Waves beat the skies as she quickly responded, but a sword came down upon her!

She wasn’t afraid of the sword stroke. It was strong, but it would not overpower her. However, a cat hugging a star appeared as well. It suppressed her water strength for a split second.

The waves froze!

Bam!

The longsword descended and hundreds of world domains appeared in response. An explosion rang out!

Waterpeak couldn’t believe her eyes. My dao... paused for a split second... Her body crumbled apart, but she spontaneously recovered as a long river of dao.

A myriad of daos convened!

“You guys...” she shouted with disbelief and fury.

The dao strength that Li Hao had just expended was spontaneously refilled by another. A small flower appeared by his mouth; he swallowed it with one gulp. The power of emptiness materialized, alongside Void!

The two combined their great dao and shouted together, “Emptiness!”

BOOM!

The world trembled as the entire river briefly entered a period of stasis. Both Li Hao and Void spontaneously weakened to an utmost.

Gan Wuliang, Celestial Pole, the Pagoda King, Hong Yitang, and Panther emerged from Li Hao’s river. They were a group of weaklings that no seventh rank would pay attention to in ordinary times.

The crew struck at the same time, hitting the frozen dao river!

CRACK!

Part of the dao river broke off!

“Help...” Waterpeak regained freedom of movement and was about to call for help, but the myriad of worlds reappeared and innumerable world domains split open with a rumble. The dao river snapped into two.

All color had drained from Li Hao’s face! There were too many people here for him to use the power of time, so he could only have Number Two briefly employ it for a moment. It was very hard to kill a seventh rank, but not entirely without hope if they attempted to do so without heed to the cost.

A dao star became a world domain and a net of dao began to weave itself around the vicinity. The net encompassed the river. When the net broke with a loud thud, the dao river inside it fully fell silent as well!

“Father, heal me...” Void vomited blood as he raised his head to the skies.

“......” The wordless Light master summoned a ferocious surge of Light strength, instantly healing his gravely injured son. There was nothing he could do to explain his innocence now.

An explosion sounded—dao ripples undulated and a river fell apart!

“Light!” howled the shadow of a wrathful Waterpeak.

The Light master didn’t know what to say. This has nothing to do with me, I’m not the one who killed you. I’m... honestly innocent! I didn’t think that you’d die from a group of non-seventh ranks!

He coughed with resignation and erupted with dao strength!

The fragmented shadow exploded!

He looked helplessly around him, at how shocked seventh ranks stared back at him. After some thought, he said slowly, “This has nothing to do with me...”

I just couldn’t be bothered to listen to her prattle on. She was already dead, that was just a fragment of a shadow.

No one answered him. Across the way, the Dragon master took a defensive posture. Light really had allied with New Martial! The Light master’s son and that fifth rank were uncannily strong. That entire group of weaklings as well—they’d really killed a seventh rank!

How was that possible?!

BOOM!

A streak of blade light illuminated the void; the Skycloud master flew backward, blood pouring copiously from new wounds. A stunned look colored his eyes!

The Human King had completely overpowered him!

An aloof Human King followed after his opponent, dragging his blade through the air. The Skycloud master was immensely dismayed. How could the Human King be so strong? 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Both the Light and Dragon masters frowned. Something was off! Skycloud was being suppressed far too strongly! Why?

“So some new seventh ranks have appeared in New Martial, not bad!” the Human King suddenly laughed. “I will be the only one killing people today, you guys cannot kill me. Light, work with me to kill them. You and I will share the four regions between ourselves!”

“......” The Light master wanted to let loose with every profanity he knew, but he held it together!

My son will be the death of me!

Seventh ranks in the surroundings looked on with solemn faces. Everyone had been watching the show and waiting for the proper timing to seize their own opportunities, but now...

A victor was yet to be determined between the seventh and eighth ranks, yet Light’s son had allied with the Silver Moon king to kill Waterpeak. It was incredible!

The Silver Moon king!

Some recognized him not because they knew Li Hao, but that they knew the Silver Moon king and Light crown prince were good friends. Those two were said to have jointly killed the fourth rank Ming Hao earlier. Hence, many guessed Li Hao’s identity when an unknown exalted emperor fought with Void today.

They hadn’t thought that the Silver Moon king would be a fifth rank!

A fifth rank wasn’t much to speak of, but the force that he erupted with was stunning. It was stronger than many initial sixth ranks and he could even fight peak sixth ranks!

No one was surprised that the Human King was so domineering that he crushed Skycloud. What was surprising was that Li Hao and Void, alongside some third and fourth ranks, were able to kill a seventh rank. That was the most astonishing of all.

There was a significant gap between sixth and seventh ranks! It wasn’t one between a fifth and sixth rank, but between a sixth and seventh rank!

The exalted emperors looked on gravely. There were quite a few gathered and many of the seventh ranks, but a portion of those from Blazing Sun Region had run off. They were highly worried that something had happened back home. Waterpeak was dead, the Red Moon master teetered on the precipice of doom, and the Skycloud master had been defeated...

There were only two people who could turn the tables—the Dragon and Light masters!

If the two eighth ranks participated in the battle, as well as peak seventh rank Flare Sun, then the three of them would be able to turn the situation around. But now...

What was with the Light master? Was he working with New Martial?

Void did not represent Light, but the Light master had permitted Void to kill Waterpeak and even helped his son. That was a declaration of his stance.

There were three seventh ranks and two exalted emperors who could kill seventh ranks on Li Hao’s side. They were the equivalent of four seventh ranks.

And with the Orchid Forest master, as well as the Human King who could fight an eighth rank...

If the Light master and Flare Sun joined them as well, that made them a formidable camp with the equivalent of eight high ranks. Two of them could command the strength of an eighth rank.

If all of the exalted emperors present mobbed them, they would still win as there were almost ten seventh ranks and a few other eighth ranks on site.

But such an operation had never been discussed before and no one could be the coordinator. How would they work together?

“What are you guys running away for?” sneered the Human King when he saw them go. “Waterpeak major world is just a seventh rank world. Is it as tempting as a ninth rank world? Stay and keep watching. Perhaps you’ll be able to caress an eighth rank world’s butt today!”

“......” This reminded some people! Waterpeak major world!

That was right, Waterpeak was dead and her world now lacked a world master. It might be hidden nearby!

With that, at least five seventh ranks vanished on the spot. They might not gain anything if they stayed here, but there was Waterpeak major world to be had!

A major world without a seventh rank in residence was a gift fallen into their laps from above! This place was dangerous beyond compare and it looked like the Skyward dao universe was indeed still silent. They didn’t want to stay here!

Such was the benefit of killing a seventh rank. Those without a world of their own suddenly understood what they should do next—ferret out Waterpeak major world!

A few more seventh ranks ran off, leaving behind a group that wasn’t necessarily uninterested in a masterless major world. They just hadn’t acted fast enough and wouldn’t arrive in time now. Hence, their scheming returned to the scene at hand.

If these two sides started fighting, then... perhaps there would be some pickings to be had!
