Star Gate-Chapter 1717: New Master of Skyward (II)

“Red Moon may be gone, but Skycloud is still here!” Li Hao elected to speak up, despite his relative weakness in this group. “The Skycloud master is here. Senior Fog Mountain has left and the Exalted Deepsea Emperor is with us as well. There are only two seventh ranks in residence in that vast eighth rank dao universe.

“Everyone will be able to eat their fill if they gather in a group of five or so seventh ranks to breach that dao universe. We just ate Red Moon and produced two new seventh ranks! We even helped Senior Fog Mountain fully recover, so that’s the equivalent of three seventh ranks. That was such a feast!”

“You twerp!” raged the Skycloud master. “You are the new king of Silver Moon, are you not? You’ve got quite the vicious heart at such a young age. And Fog Mountain! You come from Skycloud, but you goad others into attacking your home. This is proof you’ve nursed ulterior motives for a long time!”

Despite his bravado, the Skycloud master wished to retreat. It was true that there were only two seventh ranks holding down the fort at his main world. Seeing how he was unable to eliminate his opponent, being fiercely suppressed by the Human King, and finding that the Dragon master was unwilling to participate in battle...

The Skycloud master was immensely irritated by the situation. It was hard for the Human King to actually kill him, but what if some crazies got it in their mind to attack Skycloud once he was preoccupied here?

There was no sign of New Martial to be seen and Light had three seventh ranks in residence. The Blazing Sun master had returned to his region and the Dragon master was here alone. Of the four regions, his Skycloud was the easiest to invade!

No one would have dared entertain the thought in times before. But with the Silver Moon king’s group taking down Red Moon and producing three seventh ranks in the process... that was the best demonstration of how rich an eighth rank world was!

The Human King sneered and dragged his blade forward, throwing himself at the Skycloud master.

“This king will keep that fool preoccupied!” he roared with laughter. “It’s too hard to kill him, so all we need to do is keep him too busy to return to his world. That’s not hard. If anyone is able to conquer Skycloud major world today, this king will spare you when unrest rocks the chaos in the future!”

In the void.

Faint ripples traveled through the air. There was no talk of loyalty or friendships in the chaos, just profit and self interest. New Martial was difficult to locate and the Human King hard to kill. In that case, why didn’t they take a look at Skycloud?

It was fine if there were no opportunities to be had there, but what if... there were?

What if the Human King really could distract the Skycloud master enough so that the latter could not save his world?

Skycloud only had two seventh ranks holding down the fort, which was fewer than the three seventh ranks at Light. The Light master also wasn’t involved in the fighting here, which meant he could disengage anytime. In that case, Skycloud was such a tempting target!

The ripples in the void intensified. A seventh rank left in private—and more than one. Perhaps they’d reached a private agreement that took several more of them away.

The Skycloud master registered the development with a horrified look. Those bastards! Were they crazy?! How dare they attack an eighth rank major world??

There are two seventh ranks on duty there! Don’t they know that they need at least three or four seventh ranks to breach our defenses?? My people have the advantage of being on home turf!

He could no longer sit still. The Skycloud master broke through the void and summoned his great dao, intending to leave.

“You want to run?!” roared the Human King. He sent his blade through the air and cut through the world!

The Red Moon master erupted at the same time. An explosion sounded with a rumble, breaking the restrictions of the world. He was bathed in blood and much of his great dao had shattered. Red Moon power seeped out from the man. However, he darted into the void and growled, “Take me with you!”

The Skycloud master’s brows raised, but he didn’t stop the man from joining him. This was an eighth rank!

And what if Red Moon joins my world? We’re down a seventh rank after Fog Mountain’s departure...

All the same, there were a lot of risks with the addition of an eighth rank. It might turn into two kings vying for one world. Granted, the situation at present was so complicated that the addition of an eighth rank might bring many benefits.

The Skycloud master didn’t stop Red Moon from entering the Skycloud dao universe. Although it was a dangerous proposition, internal conflict now would only create opportunities for the Human King and others. Red Moon was no fool. Fighting amongst themselves now would only doom them both.

The Human King gave vent to a furious roar!

In reality... he was running on fumes. He’d suppressed an eighth rank and even forced the man back, but he was a seventh rank himself, not an eighth rank. It was a demonstration of his strength that he was able to fight beyond his level, but he’d reached the end of his tether.

He didn’t have the ability to truly keep an eighth rank with him even if the fighting continued. If he did, he would’ve long killed his opponent, given his personality. He wouldn’t spend so much time blathering at Red Moon!

Seeing that Skycloud and Red Moon were getting away, Deepsea darted for the Skycloud dao universe as well. His liege was leaving. What would he be doing, other than nursing a death wish, if he stayed behind?

There were too many exalted emperors here.

Fog Mountain, the Sword Sovereign, and Li Zhu did not stop him. They were too far away. The Human King was out of energy; Li Hao and Void didn’t even have the strength to obstruct them. It was good that these people were leaving.

Who knew what would take place next if the battle continued? The Light master’s attitude was ambiguous.

Just as everyone began to relax, the Orchid Forest master ruthlessly narrowed his eyes. He’d been fighting Deepsea all this time; the man was much stronger than him because he’d inherited much of Fog Mountain’s strength. He’d outmatched the Orchid Forest master so heavily that the man could not do a thing.

The two eighth ranks had set foot into the Skycloud dao universe. Deepsea was one step behind.

The Orchid Forest master abruptly bared his teeth in a toothy grin. “A myriad of phenomena!”

The land changed, turning into hell. A wild mess of sinister, yin qi materialized in front of everyone. It was as if eighteen levels of hell as it loomed in the group’s field of vision.

The Orchid Forest master howled, detonating his body to turn it into a world of a myriad phenomena. This was a formation of trapping, killing, and slaughter!

His sudden move to turn his body into a world took everyone by surprise. Did he wish to force Deepsea’s death?

It was difficult for a victor to be determined between two seventh ranks, not to mention, the two sides clearly didn’t wish to keep fighting. His opponent had fled, so why was the Orchid Forest master acting this way?

A world manifested in the sky, one of hell that instantly trapped Deepsea. The man paled with dismay. He was shooting through the void, but unable to break free of his restraints. The Skycloud master was still waiting for Deepsea to enter the dao universe. After that, he would close the entryway and directly return to his world.

Who would’ve thought that the inconspicuous Orchid Forest master would suddenly expend so many resources, immolating his body to trap Deepsea?!

The stunned Skycloud master prepared to exit the dao universe. This was a Skycloud seventh rank!

“We need to go,” transmitted the pained Red Moon master. “I can’t hold on. I will die if we linger any longer. Will you be able to get away once I die?”

What??

Skycloud’s expression shifted, that could not be permitted to happen either! But Deepsea was a seventh rank, and a peak seventh rank at that. He’d left most of Fog Mountain’s dao strength to Deepsea in order to obtain the rest of the world’s approval to expel Fog Mountain.

It would be an incredible loss if Deepsea was lost here!

He turned around to leave the dao universe; he would not permit Deepsea to be kept behind. It wasn’t that he felt that strongly about Deepsea, but that Skycloud could not lose two seventh ranks at the same time. That would make them the next Red Moon!

But as he readied himself to leap from the dao universe, the Red Moon master suddenly rushed into the depths of the dao universe. Clearly, he would not be staying on Skyward. He would be dead without a doubt if he remained.

“You!!” The Skycloud master gaped with shock. If he left and the Red Moon master didn’t, then... an eighth rank would be loose in his dao universe. Even though the eighth rank was injured, if he was entangled with the Human King and this bastard ambushed his dao origin... then he would seize the dao universe!

“Red Moon!” snarled the Skycloud master. You asshole! I saved your life, but this is how you treat me?! Damn you!!

The trapped Deepsea was about to relax when he saw his liege prepare to leave the dao universe. His eyes widened the next second and he snarled, “Red Moon!”

That damned animal! How could the world master have let him into the dao universe?!

This series of developments was an immense surprise to Li Hao’s group. They’d never fathomed that Skycloud would usher the wolf into the house. In reality, if Red Moon hadn’t run and remained to fight with Skycloud, there wouldn’t be much that they could do if the two broke through the Orchid Forest’s master attack and took Deepsea with them.

The Human King would be helpless against three powerhouses unless the Light master made a move as well.

But... what was going on here now?

The Human King stared, then gaped at the Red Moon master. This guy... was the worst teammate ever!

To be fair, it was a normal response since he was heavily injured. But... the Skycloud master had just saved his life and even permitted him entrance to the Skycloud dao universe. The Skycloud world master is willing to take you with him, is this how you repay him?

The Human King goggled with astonishment, as did the rest. We haven’t even done anything yet!

Whether it was the Human King, Sword Sovereign, or Li Zhu, everyone suddenly burst into frenzied motion. Fog Mountain was the only one who briefly hesitated. The Human King set aside concern of being discovered that he was at the end of his rope; neither did Li Hao or Void worry about their relative weakness.

There was a fat piece of meat at hand!

Oh my heavens, we can collect such rich pickings at this point in time?! Peak seventh rank is really something!

Skycloud hadn’t even had time to withdraw Deepsea’s dao force. This would ensure that they reclaimed Fog Mountain’s previous strength and might even send him into eighth rank...

The last notion was not part of the group’s consideration. They just wanted to eliminate as many enemies as possible!
