Starting Today, I'll Work as a City Lord-Chapter 194: The Captivated Nicole
Chapter 194: The Captivated Nicole
Sinke and the others decided to go find Solo and sell the chocolate. To them, it was far too extravagant to eat something so luxurious- it simply wasn’t something they could bring themselves to consume. Perhaps, this was the way of survival for small characters.
Just as the four of them reached the castle gates, they saw Nicole leading Tess inside. They immediately bowed respectfully. “Lady Nicole, Lady Tess!”
“Thank you for your hard work,” Nicole replied with a gentle smile. She knew that Sinke and the others had been out on a mission and had likely just returned.
“Not at all. It’s all worth it for Lord City Lord,” Sinke quickly responded.
“Go on, then. I need to start cooking for Young Master,” Nicole nodded and headed inside the castle with Tess.
“Yes, ma’am!”
Nicole personally handled all three of Liu Feng’s meals- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Even if she didn’t cook everything herself, she would still oversee the kitchen.
“Nicole, what are we having for lunch today?” Tess rubbed her belly. She hadn’t dared to eat too much at the pizza shop; otherwise, she’d miss out on the delicacies at the castle.
“You already ate five pizzas, and you’re still hungry?” Nicole’s gray eyes glanced at Tess’s stomach.
“I’m only about half full. I can still eat a lot more,” Tess replied with a “Don’t worry, I’m still hungry” look on her face.
“Alright, I need to ask Young Master what he wants to eat first.” Nicole’s lips twitched slightly. She remembered how Tess had sat in the kitchen of the pizza shop and snatched the pizzas that came out. Including Anri, who had been kicked out earlier, these two alone could eat as much as five or six regular customers.
In the end, Nicole decided to just bring Tess back to the castle. She really couldn’t handle Elisa’s resentful stares.
Tess had now claimed the title of the castle’s number one glutton- she ate even more than Mina. Thankfully, they all had Liu Feng supporting them. If an average family had to support these gluttons, they’d eat into bankruptcy.
“Young Master should be in the study right now,” Tess said softly. Though she had only been at the castle for a few days, she already knew that Liu Feng spent his free time there.
“Tess, didn’t you say you have an older sister?” Nicole asked as they walked. “Why don’t you bring her over, like how the members of the Weya Tribe were brought here?”
“Um…” Tess’s violet eyes drifted. She knew she was in for a beating when she got back, and she replied awkwardly, “I’ll go back in a few days. I’m not sure if she’ll be willing to come.”
“What do you mean?” Nicole was curious.
“Big Sis is really strong and doesn’t like relying on others. Plus, she’s always running around looking for food- barely ever home.” Tess unconsciously touched her butt, remembering how often her sister had spanked her.
“I see. So when are you going back?” Nicole guessed that Tess’s sister was the independent, self-reliant type.
“Maybe in a few more days.” Tess scratched her cheek. She wasn’t worried about her sister- there’s no way she’d go hungry.
“Alright then.” Nicole didn’t press any further, sensing Tess’s admiration and confidence in her sister.
Soon, the two of them arrived outside the study. Even before entering, they could hear laughter coming from inside, piquing their curiosity. They quietly pushed open the door…
Inside, Liu Feng was helplessly watching the panda clinging to his leg. The little guy was way too clingy.
The panda had its paws wrapped tightly around Liu Feng’s leg and absolutely refused to let go. It was biting on his pants and occasionally shook its head fiercely, even though Liu Feng had already moved it away a few times.
The result? The little furball would roll back to Liu Feng’s side and once again latch onto Liu Feng’s leg to chew on his pants…
Now Liu Feng understood exactly what panda caretakers on Earth must have felt- this thing was a total rascal. freewebnøvel_com
“Hahahaha…” Mina and Anri were laughing so hard they could barely stand. It was their first time seeing Liu Feng this helpless.
“Hey, hey… that’s enough, alright? Still biting?” Liu Feng shook his leg, but the little guy wouldn’t budge.
The panda had just eaten and was full of energy. It followed Liu Feng around relentlessly- wherever he went, it went too. And the moment he stopped, it grabbed his leg.
Rip!
The sound of fabric tearing suddenly rang out. Everyone froze. Even the panda stopped and stared at the torn pant leg in its mouth… before continuing to chew.
“…” Liu Feng rubbed his forehead. He was seriously beginning to question whether keeping this little guy was a good idea… maybe he should reconsider Anri’s suggestion.
“Hahahaha…” Mina and Anri laughed even harder, clutching their stomachs. “This little guy is hilarious!”
But the panda wouldn’t let them get close- if they approached, it would start howling. Maybe it was because they were beastfolk. Only Liu Feng could hold it without trouble.
“Really now, what am I going to do with you?” Liu Feng said with affectionately. He didn’t have the heart to hit the little guy. Right now, the panda was just curious and playful.
Creak…
The door opened.
Nicole’s eyes lit up when she saw the panda. She walked over in a few quick steps and softly asked, “Young master, what is this little one?”
“A panda- my first pet. Cute, right?” Liu Feng said proudly.
“It’s adorable! Can I hold it?” Nicole asked quietly, as if she was afraid to scare it.
“Of course,” Liu Feng nodded.
“Come here, little one, let me hold you.” Nicole crouched down and reached out.
“Huh?” Mina and Ann Li looked on in shock as Nicole managed to pick up the panda without any trouble. Why couldn’t they? Was it because they had wanted to eat panda meat?
“Ehehehe… that tickles…” Nicole giggled as the panda licked her.
“Be careful, it can be pretty fierce,” Liu Feng warned.
“Fierce?” No one present felt it looked fierce at all. It was just a chubby ball of fluff showing off its cuteness.
“This thing? No matter how many there are, I can finish them in one go,” Tess said, clearly unimpressed. To her, a six-month-old panda cub wasn’t even enough for a single meal.
“What are you saying? Say stuff like that again and you’re not getting any food,” Nicole scolded while hugging the panda tightly. “This little one is a member of our family now. You’re not allowed to even think about eating it.”
Just from the looks on the others’ faces, Liu Feng could tell what they were thinking. None of them had any idea how clingy or destructive this little creature could be.
At that moment, one phrase echoed in Liu Feng’s mind- a famous saying from Earth: “It clearly has the strength to survive, but insists on surviving by being cute.”
Pandas were still bears- fierce, powerful bears. Don’t be fooled by the fluff. Once they grow up, a single angry adult panda could take down three or five wolves. You’d need a pack of 20 or 30 wolves to kill it.
This also reminded Liu Feng that beasts from the Forbidden Mountains were starting to appear on the outskirts- and now even large wolf packs had been sighted, meaning that the cold winds were starting to reach the Western Lands.
