Chapter 693: Solo mission completed

Wilderness

Jeremy was confused. He didn’t know what these people were doing here. It hadn’t been that long since the Governors’ mission had ended.

Yet the killers appeared in the wilderness again.

Jeremy watched the group. They didn’t notice his presence because his eyesight was better. If he got near them, their lifeline beast would alert them. So, he decided to watch them from the same spot.

He saw that dark-clothed Beast Tamers were going deeper into the wilderness without any hesitation.

It showed that they had a destination in mind. Jeremy frowned. As far as he knew, the region beyond the barren land was unexplored.

Currently, no one was allowed to enter the unexplored area without the permission of the organization and the Governors.

Yet the criminals were going to that area. Jeremy decided to follow them. He didn’t want another disaster to fall upon the city like the 10th Zone.

He didn’t know whether the unexplored area held colossal beasts. If colossal beasts were to attack, the city would be in ruins.

Jeremy started following them from behind. He didn’t move fast; rather, he used his eyesight to track them.

They couldn’t sense him, so he continued to follow them from behind. As time went by, Jeremy saw the team of six black-clothed figures marching forward.

Earlier, he was not clear about their strength, but he suspected they were at least Tier-4 and above. He felt a hint of threat from one of them; the person could be a Tier-5 Beast Tamer.

One hour later

The group reached the edge of the border. It was the location of their hideout. They walked up to a series of huge shade trees. Under one of the trees, there was an access hatch. They opened the hatch to enter the hideout one by one.

Seeing that, Jeremy was shocked. He didn’t expect to find their hideout here. He was not a fool; he knew that he had crossed the assigned area.

Hereafter, the land was unknown, unexplored territory. If someone were to get lost here, no one would be able to find them. Even the City Governors would be helpless.

Jeremy hesitated. He was righteous, but it didn’t mean that he didn’t know reality. The black-clothed figures’ organization seemed to be stronger than the Skull Gang.

The members of the Skull Gang were just thugs with a little bit of Beast Taming powers, but these black-clothed figures seemed to be professionals.

"They are stronger than those thugs," Jeremy Night thought.

He finally decided not to poke the hornet’s nest. Who knows? The hideout leader could be a Tier-6 Beast Tamer. Even if he possessed starlight power, he didn’t plan on taking them head-on. Even if he managed to survive, his identity would be exposed.

He could face more attacks from the criminals in the future. He didn’t want to expose himself before reaching the power of a Tier-5 Beast Tamer. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

He calmed his heart and began to return using the same path. Even if someone appeared, he would know via his eye power.

Seeing that the surroundings were safe, he didn’t wait any further. He moved fast. It didn’t take long for him to reach the new area.

This area was away from the hideout, and there was no one around, so Jeremy began performing his mission.

He found a few rare plants mentioned in the mission description. After collecting the plants, he stored them inside his ring. With these plants, he completed the mission.

Jeremy decided to go back. It was already late evening. If he traveled now, he could get back to the city before midnight.

Time passed

Jeremy Night found no obstacles on his way back. That night, he returned to the city. He showed his ID to the guards before entering.

Then, he found a cab and returned to the organization ten minutes later. After entering the building, he went to the staff desk to submit the mission.

The staff were working all day and night in shifts, since many of the Beast Tamers would return during the night.

The staff member working right now was a middle-aged man. Upon seeing Jeremy Night, he recognized him. He talked to Jeremy before taking the mission details.

The staff member checked the mission details before asking about the collected plants. He knew the mission was given to first-time Beast Tamers. As long as the Tier-3 Beast Tamers gathered basic materials, the mission was considered passed.

But when he went through the materials submitted by Jeremy Night, the staff member was taken aback. He saw that Jeremy Night had collected some rare plants mentioned in the mission.

This meant the mission completion report could be evaluated with higher grades. The staff member confirmed the details before collecting the materials. He then told Jeremy Night that reward points would be sent to his ID shortly.

Jeremy thanked him before going towards his room. His mind was not calm. He had found the hideout of a dangerous criminal organization. He got an uneasy feeling about it.

Since he was a Tier-3 Beast Tamer, he didn’t want to take huge risks. If there was any real danger, there were people available to protect the city.

A few minutes later, he reached his room. After entering, he went to freshen up.

Meanwhile, the staff sent a copy of the mission completion report to Head Harold and Team Leader Melinda. Head Harold went through such reports daily.

...

The following day

It was another normal day. Head Harold came to his office. He sat down and rested for a couple of minutes. Then, he turned on the screen. A big screen appeared before him. He went to the daily reports.

The reports were sent by the staff and the people working outside. He checked the mission reports. Many missions were pending, and he didn’t want any delays.

As he went through the mission reports, his eyes caught the report for the plant gathering. He knew such a mission was given to a Tier-3 Beast Tamer. He read the report before a smile appeared on his face.
