Wilderness

The two sides stared each other down. The Tier-6 Beast gave the order, and the group turned their attention toward the human prey.

Swoosh!

Seizing this opportunity, the centipede beast fled the area; it had never intended to fight from the beginning.

The group then moved toward the low-lying area where the Tier-6 Beast had already spotted the prey.

Jeremy arrived at the low-lying area, but he was still not safe. The sense of crisis did not disappear.

When he turned around to check, he saw that the huge centipede beast had left the place. Now, he was spotted by the group of Tsetse fly insect beasts again.

"Is this going to be my end?" Jeremy thought.

He could still use his remaining energy to run, but he didn't know what to do after that. There was no destination in his mind. Suddenly, a realization occurred to him.

Though he had been fleeing randomly, he knew the direction. If he continued forward along this path, he would come across the hideout of the Darkshade Members.

Swoosh!

The next moment, he began running using "Explosive Steps."

The Tier-6 Beast and the others were taken aback again. These beasts were intelligent; they knew the human prey had no other cards to play.

Furthermore, they knew the human's strength was weaker than even a Tier-4 Beast in the group. The human prey was simply using the difficult terrain to flee from them time and time again.

Boom!

Not long after, the same destruction followed. Everything in the path was uprooted. Nearby beasts and beast tamers didn't bother to check the commotion; they were too afraid of bumping into a dangerous beast.

Jeremy Night felt the tremors beneath his feet. He moved in a zigzag pattern to confuse the predators, yet the Tier-6 Beast would not give up.

From the beginning, this particular beast had been adamant about catching him. If it were not for that leader, the other beasts would have changed direction long ago.

Jeremy's eyes flashed with an icy glint. He decided to do something about the Tier-6 Beast. Otherwise, he would certainly be caught this time.

He had already fooled them once; they wouldn't pause again for any reason. They would definitely try to snatch him first.

Boom!

Jeremy could feel the ground behind him being destroyed.

Because of his zigzagging, he could spot the beasts out of the corner of his eye without compromising his speed. He saw that not one, but two Tier-6 Beasts were now chasing him down.

Right now, the maneuvering was making it take longer to reach his destination. If he ran straight, he could reduce the distance, but he would likely die first.

A firm glint appeared in Jeremy Night's eyes. He raised his head and observed the surroundings, spotting a small patch of open land ahead.

He rushed toward the spot suddenly. The beasts destroying the ground saw the prey change his route and adjusted their direction to follow.

When Jeremy reached the clearing, he didn't stand still. Instead, he slowed down so the beasts could catch up.

He was taking a massive risk, so much so that his heart was in his mouth.

Jeremy removed the starlight thread from his finger and unsheathed the katana from its scabbard.

He then covered the katana's edge with the starlight thread in the blink of an eye. The blade shone with a brilliant white light.

Boom!

One of the Tier-6 Beasts reached the open land. Upon seeing the prey, the beast flew lower to the ground to strike first.

Its needle-like mouth, over two meters in length, was ready to pierce the human. The beast's compound eyes locked onto him.

Swoosh!

In a flash, the massive, robust body of the beast reached the target's back. The long needle was ready to drink his blood. The human prey had been running for a long time; now, it was time for him to die.

Whizz!

The Tsetse fly beast thrust forward. At the same time, Jeremy sensed the threat. He had been waiting for this exact opportunity.

He immediately exploded with great speed to shift his body. The needle-like mouth pierced empty air once again.

Before the beast could grow enraged, Jeremy bolted toward its side to attack.

Puchak!

The katana in his hands danced before slashing down at those large compound eyes.

Before he could make a fourth slash, the beast recoiled and moved away. Blood surged from the wound like a torrential flood.

Swoosh!

Using the opportunity, Jeremy fled the spot. He knew the beast wouldn't chase him right away. He needed time to reach the Darkshade Members' hideout.

Cry!

The Tier-6 Tsetse Fly Beast let out a weird cry of pain. It forgot about the human prey for a moment, hovering in mid-air.

The other Tier-6 Beast was taken aback. The human prey had injured its kin again, but this time it was a Tier-6 leader.

Swoosh!

The next second, the second beast decided to give chase.

When was the last time their group had faced such difficulty? Even during hunts in unexplored areas, they had never faced such challenges. This "human ant" had made them totally enraged.

This Tier-6 Beast did not repeat the mistake of flying too low to the surface.

It had seen how the human used a specific method to injure the eyes, and it wasn't going to let that happen again.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night was nearing the hideout. His exceptional senses and eye abilities had saved his life multiple times. Today was no different.

Without them, confronting a Tier-6 Beast with his mere Tier-3 strength would have been nothing but a pipe dream.

Buzz!

He heard the buzzing noise again. He turned and saw the second beast chasing him. However, this one was flying high above the trees, no longer damaging the green cover to reach him.

Jeremy's eyes flashed with surprise; he realized his strike against its kin had actually made the beast cautious.

Now, it's not going to come down to attack him. He can use this opportunity to reach the hideout faster.
