Wilderness

Jeremy Night is running nonstop without turning back. He knew that another Tier-6 Beast was still chasing him from behind.

Compared to before, he was feeling better. The sense of crisis had lowered. He was not going to face a life-or-death crisis right at this moment.

But if he stops in his path, then the lifeline beast will catch up to him. It would be his end then.

Time goes by.

Jeremy was able to reach the hideout an hour later. His legs are hurting. He was tired out. But he is keeping up the run because of his firm will.

The hideout was located out in the open land. It's easy for the corrupted beasts to attack. Jeremy Night is going to enter the place blindly.

Who knows? The entrance could be laid with traps. The hideout looked like a small shed in front of him, but he knows it's an underground-type hideout.

Jeremy used his "second eye" ability to find the traps. He sees there are traps buried in the ground.

He avoided them carefully before reaching the door. The wooden door was locked from the inside.

Boom!

He kicked it open. The door was blasted away.

Buzz!

At the same time, he hears a buzzing sound from behind. Without thinking further, Jeremy rushed inside and moved towards the access hatch.

Boom!

The Tier-6 Beast collided with the shed. The shed was destroyed in an instant. At the same time, Jeremy opened the hatch to enter the underground hideout.

He jumped down. He could tell that the shed above was blown away by the Tier-6 Beast.

Thud!

His feet touched the ground. The next second, he raised his head and saw a wide, spacious floor in front of him.

There were series of wooden boxes arranged in rows and on top of each other. Jeremy realized that these were goods.

"Could it be illegal goods?" Jeremy thought.

He then quickly used his X-ray vision to scan the floor. He saw the movements of people. He quickly found a room where there was no one roaming around.

He entered the room. The next second, he was greeted with a disgusting smell. He raised his head and saw a huge ice block.

Inside the ice block was the frozen body of a lizard-type corrupted beast.

Gasp!

Jeremy sucked in a cold breath of air. He had never seen such a hideout before.

The illegal members are not only doing illegal activities related to the city people; they are doing experiments with corrupted beasts as well. He didn't have time to think about it.

The disgusting smell is killing him, but he thinks it's also a good place to hide from the Tier-6 fly beast. His beast-repellent odor failed to work against the Tsetse Fly Insect Beast.

He hopes that the disgusting smell here could provide cover for him. He then goes behind the huge ice block to take cover.

Then, he unsheathed his katana blade and held it in his right hand. Then he took his handgun and held it in his left hand.

He had sensed a powerful aura hidden in the basement. It could be someone in charge of the hideout. The person could be a Tier-6 Beast Tamer.

He decided to stay here until the Tier-6 Beast and the insect group leave the place.

Jeremy's eyes flashed with a glint. He doubted it would happen. He had injured one of the Tier-6 Beasts.

That particular beast remembered the injury that happened to its kin. It had tried to capture him because of that attack.

Not long ago, he struck its compound eyes, causing it even more agony. It definitely won't go back without finding him.

Outside

The Tier-6 Beast thrashed the shed completely. Now there is no sign of the shed left. But the compound eyes of the beast saw the access hatch to the basement.

This Tier-6 Beast hasn't attacked the access hatch yet. It's waiting for its kin to come.

Meanwhile

The illegal members inside the hideout got alerted. Specifically, a middle-aged man was in charge of the place.

Not long ago, the previous team leader and his team members were wiped out completely. The organization then assigned a new team leader and members to this hideout.

The team leader is a Tier-6 Beast Tamer. He is a middle-aged, heavy-built person with short brown hair and brown eyes.

His name is Mike. There are 12 members down there in the basement. Mike heard the loud noise from above.

He then walked out of the office room and saw the 12 members waiting outside for him.

"What's going on?" Mike asked.

"Leader, I think there is a corrupted beast outside attacking the shed above," one of the members said.

Mike swept his gaze across the members. The members were all divided between Tier-4 and Tier-5 Beast Tamers.

They were scared and nervous. The sound coming from above was so loud that they believed it could be a Tier-5 or higher beast.

Even Tier-5 Beast Tamers had to be careful going against a Tier-5 corrupted beast. More than the Tier-4 Beast Tamers, they were nervous right now.

They were afraid that the Leader might ask them to go and check the place above. And that is exactly what happened next.

"Four of you, go and find out what's happening outside," Mike said to the Tier-5 Beast Tamers.

Hearing that, the members were stunned. Then the senior-most Tier-5 Beast Tamer stepped forward.

The four of them left the group and started heading towards the exit.

Mike and the others watched their backs until they left the area.

A hint of seriousness appeared in Mike's eyes.

To be honest, he thinks that the beast could be Tier-6. If it was a Tier-5 Beast, he would help the members kill it.

But if it was Tier-6, he would stay here. He knows Tier-6 corrupted beasts are hard to kill.

He wouldn't risk anything here. Last time, their members were wiped out. They have a lot of pending work to do.

So, he is hoping that it is not a Tier-6 corrupted beast or higher.

Meanwhile

Jeremy is using X-ray vision to see through. He sees that four members are going to the surface above.
