STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 714: Flying Eagle!
Wilderness-Core Area
Time goes by.
Jeremy is using both of his eye abilities to avoid dangerous places and beasts. However, he hasn't come across any other treasure plant areas.
He is using his eye power to find a dense, rich area where he can find more treasure plants. He covers more ground as time passes.
His eyes scan the area, catching every small detail. Common plants and grasses are easily identified by him.
As time goes by, he comes across important plants from time to time, but they are all in small quantities. He even finds one or two plants mentioned in the mission description.
The time is getting close to late night. He has already seen an increase in the activity of the corrupted beasts.
Most beasts come out at night to hunt for prey. He immediately finds a good place to hide: a natural, mountain-sized rock filled with crevices.
You can find this series of rocks everywhere, but most of them are filled with hideouts. Jeremy finds a crevice with enough space for him to get inside.
The crevice is located 10ft above the ground, so he is safe from ground-type beasts. After getting inside, he uses tree branches and dry leaves to cover the entrance.
Then, he takes the beast-repellent odor and sprays it on the entrance.
The smell is so disgusting that it is overwhelming for him, but he has no choice. For survival, he has to do this. He gets inside and sits down, leaning against the wall.
Jeremy starts to recollect and review the events in his mind. He did the right thing by using both eye abilities right away.
Earlier, he used to use them only when needed, but he had encountered problems because of that.
If he had used his eye abilities like today previously, he would have avoided crossing paths with the Tsetse Fly insect beasts.
Being chased by an insect beast was not a good feeling. He decides to keep both eye abilities always in "run mode", especially while doing missions in the wilderness.

It is a dark night. The nocturnal corrupted beasts start appearing in the wilderness, looking for prey.
In particular, corrupted beasts are moving around the huge, mountain-sized bedrock.
When the beasts move past the mountain rock, the scent of the disgusting beast-repellent odor reaches their nostrils. These corrupted beasts then move away from the place.
Time goes by.
All night, corrupted beasts walk past the mountain rock. All of them are repelled by the disgusting smell.
These beasts do not move forward to examine the mountain-sized rock; they are all below Tier-5.
Jeremy sleeps for some time. He believes that the unknown beast egg will wake him up during a crisis.
The Following Day
Jeremy wakes up early in the morning and exits the crevice. He then climbs to the top of the mountain rock.
From the elevated view, he can see an area rich with green cover. When he reaches the spot, he uses his eye ability to scan the place.
He sees open patches between the forest. The surrounding area is not that thick; it is somewhat dry.
He needs to travel further to find more green cover, but he is cautious. He doesn't want to enter an unexplored area. Then, he begins his journey.
As time goes by, he comes across a green cover filled with treasure plants.
This place is not guarded by beasts because the number of growing treasure plants is small. He collects those plants along the way.
Screech!
Just as he is scanning the surroundings in one spot, he hears a bird cry all of a sudden. His sense of crisis shoots up.
His senses scream at him, meaning the danger is directed at him.
Jeremy raises his head and looks toward the sky. He sees a massive eagle which almost covers the sky above his head.
"F@ck," Jeremy utters.
Swoosh!
He uses "Explosive Steps" to flee. The Flying Hawk came out early in the morning to look for food, and Jeremy was unluckily targeted.
He knows the only way to escape this predicament is to find a safe spot. He can only think of the series of mountain bedrocks.
Those mountain rocks are filled with many crevices. Right now, he can only hide inside one.
Screech!
The bird cry is heard again. This time it is closer. Perhaps the bird is flying at a low altitude.
From the size of the beast, it is clear that the flying eagle is Tier-5 or above. If he makes one small mistake, the beast will definitely catch him.
He ignores the sound from above and continues to use the tree cover to escape.
Screech!
The Flying Eagle wants to dive down to catch its prey in one fell swoop, but the problem is the prey is too small to catch easily.
Afraid that the prey might slip away, the eagle looks ahead. Its eyesight is better than the prey running below.
It sees open land ahead in the direction the prey is traveling. The eagle makes a sound before flying forward.
The shadow of the huge flying eagle is cast on the ground. Jeremy's eyes catch the detail, and his expression changes drastically.
He looks ahead and uses his eye ability to zoom in. He sees the large open land.
His eyes glint with understanding. He knows what the beast is up to. If he continues in the same direction, he will land in a trap, and it will be easy for the eagle to catch him.
He has faced this type of experience before; if he gets caught by a flying bird beast, it is impossible to escape.
Swoosh!
He changes direction abruptly and starts traveling toward the left.
Screech!
The Flying Eagle's gaze was locked on to the target. Seeing that the target has changed his direction all of a sudden.
The flying eagle was taken aback. It didn't expect the little prey to change direction. Then its massive body takes a turn in the sky.
The other beasts in the vicinity got alerted. They fled from the place.
