Strongest Necromancer System-Chapter 724: Missing Each Other
The first skill was already pretty awesome. Having an AOE skill that boosts your allies’ attack power while reducing your enemies’ attack power at the same time was very rare, and Jason knew that something like this would come in handy if his bishops were ever facing an enemy that was far more powerful than them and their attacks were just not doing any damage! But the only issue Jason had with the skill was the cooldown and mana consumption! Jason looked over at the system bar of some of his Bishops, and he frowned as he calculated how much time they would be able to use the skill before they were out of mana.
The Rank I Bishops could only use the skill for sixty seconds, while the Rank II Bishops could use it for about one hundred seconds before they were completely out of mana. But thankfully, the Rank III Bishops could use it for two hundred seconds before they run out of mana, and Jason let out a huff in annoyance as he realised he couldn’t just spam this skill pointlessly. This was a skill that could literally turn the tide of a battle in a few seconds, and Jason knew that if there were no cooldowns or mana limits, then he would’ve been leaving this skill on all the time!
’Well, it still doesn’t matter! I have more than three hundred bishops, so if I split them into groups and make them use the skill in intervals, then I can bypass the cooldown time limit that the system put on the skill. And since the Legion recovers mana very quickly, the next group can be recovering their mana while one group uses their skill. It’ll be an endless loop of debuffs that’ll allow me to destroy any army easily.’
Jason grinned as this thought crossed his mind and he realised that he was going to abuse the hell out of this skill! Reducing your opponents’ attack power wasn’t something anyone could resist, and Jason wanted to see just how much stronger his Legion would be if they had such an advantage! Jason finally turned his attention to the second skill he had gotten, and he felt an even greater excitement than when he had seen the first one! This second skill was the first [Guaranteed Hit] skill that Jason would be getting, and Jason couldn’t help but chuckle a little when he read through the description. Jason had played chess before, so he wasn’t surprised by the description at all. Bishops could only move in forty-five-degree diagonals, so his Bishops having a guaranteed hit effect when attacking an enemy that was exactly at forty-five degrees made perfect sense!
’But I wonder what the system means by ’ignoring distance or defences’. Does that mean that no defence can block the attack? Or is it something like Vana’s ability that can erase cause and effect? I’ll have to test it tomorrow to see what it can really do.’
Jason finally let out a tired sigh as he closed down all the system tabs in front of him and allowed himself to sink into the bed. Jason had been awake all day training, and now he had spent most of his night working on his Legion upgrades. Hesabeth had been doing her best to keep Jason company all this time, but she had still managed to tire herself out before long, and that was why she was sleeping so soundly. But Jason didn’t even bother to acknowledge Hesabeth’s presence on his chest, and in that moment, there was only one thought on his mind.
’I miss Gina.’
Jason couldn’t believe how much he missed his lover. This was the first time in a while that Jason wouldn’t be able to contact Gina for a full week! Since they were little, Jason and Gina have always spent time together since their families were friends. Either Gina would come over to Jason’s place, or Jason would go over to her place to spend the day! And as they grew up, both of them began to spend time together out of their own free will. Since Gina was two years older than Jason, she was already in her final year of high school when Jason was just getting into his senior year, but that didn’t stop either of them from spending time together in high school. They would text and message each other, and they were close enough with each other’s friends that they could go out together! There literally wasn’t a single week when Jason and Gina didn’t talk at least once! So now that Jason was stuck in this place without Gina, it felt like he was missing a part of himself! It had been three days already, and Jason didn’t know if he could go through four more days of this.
"Hmm~"
Jason glanced to the side as Hesabeth moaned something unintelligible under her breath, and Jason finally let out a small sigh as he turned away and allowed his eyes to close. It was only four more days, so Jason decided that he would just put up with it. At least, Jason knew that Gina was safe on Arandelle with Farlow and the elves, so he just had to bear it for four more days, and he would get to see Gina again.
....
[With Gina and Stella.]
"Argggghh~! I miss Jason so much!!"
A loud voice echoed through the bedroom as Gina exclaimed in pure agony! Gina was currently sprawled out on the bed with her head hanging off the edge, and she looked absolutely miserable as she watched Stella move around in her maid uniform to tidy up the room! It was already the morning of the fourth day in Arandelle, and although Gina had been telling herself that she would be strong and try not to miss Jason too much, she was starting to feel lightheaded and sick to her stomach because of how much she missed him! It was getting out of hand, and Gina knew that if she didn’t at least hear his voice soon, she might lose her mind!
"Your highness, please calm down. King Farlow already told us that we can’t talk to him until the seven days are over –"
"I knowww~! But I still miss himmm~!"
Gina whined loudly like a child, and Stella couldn’t help but smile sadly as she realised that there was nothing she could say to make Gina feel better here. Gina and Jason’s relationship wasn’t something that Stella could try to understand with mere words. The both of them had an almost symbiotic relationship where they relied on each other for different things, and now that they had been separated for this long, it was obvious that they would be missing what the other person had been providing all this time! Stella understood this pain of missing someone because she had felt it greatly after her fiancée died during the war, but Stella also knew that Gina couldn’t just lie there doing nothing. Gina was currently wearing a silk nightgown held together with a ribbon around her waist. She wasn’t wearing anything underneath, so it was easy to see her nipples protruding from the gown and her thighs peeking out from the robe, and Stella knew that Jason would have loved to see this view. Stella came closer and dumped a large towel on Gina’s face, and Gina raised the towel and glared at Stella in annoyance. Stella spoke with a small smile.
"It’s almost time for your training at the Lake of Remembrance. I already prepared a bath, so please go ahead and freshen up."
"Ughh~!"
Gina put the towel back over her face, and she groaned miserably, and Stella frowned. Stella thought that Gina would have been happy to go to training since it would help her take her mind off Jason, but it was obvious that Gina didn’t see things the same way.
"Your highness, if you aren’t feeling up to training today, then maybe I can speak to King Farlow on your behalf? Missing one day of training won’t affect you too much."
"No, no, don’t do that. I’m already taking advantage of Farlow’s kindness by staying here; I don’t want to seem ungrateful. I’ll go to training."
Gina finally sat up with a miserable sigh.
