Sweet Revenge With My Billionaire Vampire-Chapter 132: As If.
Adeline, still curious about everything that had happened, found herself chatting with Vincent, bombarding him with questions about how she had been turned and what exactly had happened to her body. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"So... How exactly did I turn? What even happened? I don’t remember anything about it."
"Well, you nearly died. And Enzo had to transform you by biting and mixing his blood with yours," Vincent explained.
"That’s it?" Her fingers absentmindedly grazed over the spot on her neck. It had closed and left a small mark that would soon fade, just like the bullet wound. "That’s it?"
"Pretty much," Vincent shrugged.
As they conversed, Enzo’s attention was drawn to something, and he raised his hand, tenderly capturing her chin between his fingers.
"Huh?" She blinked in surprise, her voice cutting off as he tilted her face up toward him.
He brushed his thumb against her lower lip before pressing lightly against the upper part, pushing it up to reveal her pearly white teeth. "Would you look at that? Your fangs retracted."
Adeline’s eyes widened in surprise. She hadn’t even noticed. Gasping, she pulled back and pressed a finger against the area where her elongated fangs had been just moments ago.
Feeling nothing but her normal teeth, a breath of relief escaped her. "Thank goodness," she muttered, pressing a hand against her chest.
The male officer who had been dealing with Dacatt and the two men Andrei had beaten up, returned. He had already escorted them outside, but now, with his duty momentarily done, he approached Enzo with a serious expression.
His gaze swept over the group, scanning them for any signs of injuries. "Is everyone alright?" he asked.
Enzo nodded. "We’re fine, officer. Nobody was hurt."
The cop’s skeptical gaze flickered down to Adeline’s blood-soaked shirt. "Are you sure? Because the blood tells a different story."
Adeline chuckled, patting her stained shirt with an easygoing smile. "Oh, this? Pfft... It’s just the shirt’s design."
The cop didn’t look convinced. It looked nothing like a design, and the blood was still wet. But since she didn’t appear injured or seem to be in any distress, he let it slide. Nodding reluctantly, he turned back toward the door.
"Alright... Excuse me," he said as he walked towards the exit. Reaching the door, he gripped the handle and turned his head, giving them one last glance and a nod before stepping out.
As soon as he was gone, Vincent turned to Enzo. "What’s the time?"
Enzo lifted his wrist, glancing down at his wristwatch. "It’s 9:56 PM."
Vincent sighed, nodding absently. "I see..." But then, something in his mind clicked, and his eyes widened in sheer panic.
"Wait—what?" His head snapped toward Enzo, his voice rising in alarm.
"Yeah..." Enzo raised a brow. "Is something wrong?"
Vincent’s face paled, and he grabbed at his hair as if he were on the verge of a breakdown. "Oh, no! Lord Damien was supposed to return to the castle an hour ago! I completely forgot! I was supposed to accompany him to a meeting! He’s going to kill me!"
"I have to go, Master Enzo!" He spun on his heel, bolting toward the door. "Goodbye!" he called over his shoulder before yanking it open and disappearing outside.
Adeline, caught off guard by the sudden exit, stared after him in bewilderment. She kept her gaze locked on the door for a moment longer before slowly turning to Enzo. "Who the hell is Lord Damien, and why did Vincent look like he was about to die just from mentioning his name?"
"Damien is my father," he said, shrugging nonchalantly.
"...Your father," Adeline repeated, more to herself than to him.
Enzo nodded. "And, he’s the king of our world."
"...What?" Her lips parted as she stared at him as if he had just spoken a completely different language.
He chuckled, amused by her reaction. "My father is the king of the vampire world."
"Your father? A king? There’s a vampire world?!" she exclaimed, her eyes widening like saucers as a tiny hiccup escaped her lips.
"Mhm." He reached out, tapping her nose with the tip of his finger. "Our kind has our own world, separate from the human one. My father has ruled it for centuries."
Adeline opened her mouth, closed it, then exhaled slowly, pressing two fingers against both sides of her temples. "I swear, this week just keeps getting fucking crazier."
"So does this mean you’re a prince?"
Enzo hesitated before nodding.
Adeline groaned, shutting her eyes for a second. "Oh my goodness." She had been hit with one revelation after another all week, and at this point, her brain was struggling to keep up.
But then, something else clicked, and her eyes snapped open, locking onto him. "Wait. If your father is the ruler... That means you’re next in line, doesn’t it?"
Enzo’s smirk faltered, a hint of discomfort flickering in his expression. He let out an awkward chuckle before reaching out and patting her head in an attempt to shift the conversation. "Let’s not go there, okay?"
Adeline gave him a look of mild suspicion, her eyes narrowing slightly as if she were debating whether or not to pry further. But ultimately, she brushed it off. There was no need to learn everything in one night. Her mind was already packed to the brim with revelations, and if she tried to process any more, she might just collapse on the spot.
"We actually did it," he said, his voice carrying a mix of triumph and disbelief. "We finally exposed your uncles. With that recording, there’s no lying their way out of any of the things they’ve done. If anyone had told me earlier today that all of this was going to happen tonight, I’d have never believed it."
Adeline nodded in agreement. "Me neither. To be honest, I kind of thought I was going to die tonight."
Enzo scoffed at her words. "As if I’d ever let that happen. Have you forgotten who I am over these past few days that we’ve been apart, hmm?"
His usual cocky smirk returned, and he reached out, tugging at her cheek playfully, his voice lowering to a smug whisper. "I am Enzo Laureati. The mastermind. The—"
Before he could finish his grandiose statement, his body jolted back as Adeline suddenly moved, wrapping her arms around him in a tight, unexpected hug. Then, her soft voice came. "Thank you, Enzo Laureati... for everything."
