"Renounce your position as Luna or you close down the office of the Luna," the elder said. "We were going to tell you this but thank the goddess that there’s an opportunity. So if you truly want to show how remorseful you are... you’ll make a choice,".

I had envisioned that they would try to ask me to resign and I had a ready reply for that scenario but hearing them making a play for my position as Luna and Noah’s wife was a punch on my face. I stared at the elder hoping he was making a joke but these people don’t joke.

"You cannot be serious," Noah interjected "You cannot ask my wife to renounce her position as Luna. She’s my mate and marrying her already validates that,".

"This doesn’t concern you, Your Majesty," the elder said coldly to Noah "The only reason why there’s been no petition for you to be stripped of your title too is because you’ve been a good king and we have identified the root cause of the problem which is your wife here. I didn’t know the content of the document they had sent Noah but from the exasperated look on his face, it was quite bad.

"And what is that supposed to mean?" Noah’s tone was softer, almost inaudible to show he was pissed.

"It means a King marries for every other thing except love. Everything you do is for the good of the pack and the people. No one cares about your feelings or your opinion. You ought to have a level-headed woman by your side who is informed of all the etiquettes of our kind and is contented with just being a Luna. Don’t forget, someone who is willing to fill the house with children. But so far, your so-called mates have broken all the etiquette, over and over again. "That’s not true!" Noah fumed.

Or, she can choose to just be your wife and have the freedom to run around with different men as she chooses, act like a wild horse and do whatever pleases her. "I told you, I won’t take another wife," Noah barked "The deal with Princess Jade is dead,".

"No!" the elder shook his head "It is not. Besides, aren’t you a hypocrite for saying you won’t take another wife when you’ve been finding comfort in the bosom of another woman, nowadays... your passion with her is so wild that it is the talk of the town,".

"I am not finished, Your Majesty," the Pack Elder stated without flinching at how enraged Noah was. "We all know that the Wild Hunt Pack doesn’t have an heir right now to take over their affairs. The only son of King Tanner is just a toddler and by right Princess Jade would serve as a regent until he’s old enough. When you get married to her, she has agreed to merge our pack with theirs.
