The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 564 - 605: Date, Watching a Horror Movie
When watching a movie, Sienna Johnson always felt that eating popcorn added to the ambiance, even though she wasn’t particularly hungry.
Sienna went to the popcorn counter and, while taking out her money, asked, "I want a bag of popcorn. How much is it?"
After asking, Sienna waited for a long time without an answer, then looked at the person who had been busy preparing popcorn. Sienna was shocked to see that the person was none other than Bella Ford.
Sienna knew that she would run into many old acquaintances in Abyanabad, but she never expected Bella Ford to be the first.
Compared to other women Sienna knew who took great care of themselves, Bella Ford seemed to have aged considerably more than her peers. Wearing a baseball cap and uniform, Sienna couldn’t believe that Bella was working at the popcorn counter.
As Sienna hesitated, wondering whether to greet her or pretend they didn’t know each other, Bella looked up and smiled at her first.
"Mai, do you remember me?"
"My name is Sienna Johnson now. Mai was an alias," Sienna replied indifferently.
"I know you’re Sienna Johnson now, and I also know you’ve inherited your family business and become a wealthy individual. Tsk tsk. I really couldn’t have imagined you were this capable. My cousin and I both underestimated you."
"Please give me a bag of popcorn. Thank you."
They weren’t close enough to chat or catch up on old times.
"Did you know that my cousin is in a psychiatric hospital?"
"Sixth Master is over there. Should I call him over so you two can catch up?"
Sienna took out her wallet and pulled out an Abyanabad banknote. Abyanabad banknotes had large denominations and weren’t as convenient to use as dollar.
Bella was clearly afraid of Adrian Desmond; upon hearing his name, her demeanor became much more subdued.
"Can you convince Sixth Master to release my cousin?"
Bella had always been like Melanie Carpenter’s shadow, always present wherever Melanie was. In truth, there wasn’t much conflict between them; Bella only disliked Sienna because of Melanie.
"You should ask Sixth Master that."
"But Sixth Master listens to you the most."
"So, you think I *must* get her out of the psychiatric hospital?" Sienna lifted her gaze, her eyes sharp as she looked at Bella.
"My cousin’s current state has everything to do with you," Bella complained. It wasn’t fair! Why did she and her cousin have to suffer so much while Sienna had it all?
Looking at Sienna’s bulging belly, Bella’s thoughts turned to her own unfortunate cousin, still stuck in that psychiatric hospital.
"You have everything now. Why must you push my cousin to her breaking point? She’s just a defenseless woman."
Sienna sneered. "She brought this upon herself. Do you even know what your cousin did at my wedding?"
Sienna stared at Bella and said, word by word, "She attempted suicide! ...Do you want her alive, or do you want her out, free to continue her madness, harming others and herself?"
Bella seemed dazed for a moment, then said softly, "My cousin just loved Sixth Master too much."
"Adrian Desmond is my man now!"
After finishing his phone call, Adrian searched for Sienna. He saw her talking with the popcorn seller. She’s taking forever to buy popcorn, he thought.
Adrian walked over to Sienna. "Still not done?"
Bella lowered her head when she saw Adrian, not daring to look him in the eye. However, Adrian didn’t look at Bella. He just took Sienna’s hand and said, "Let’s go."
Adrian tossed the money on the counter, grabbed a bag of popcorn, and left with Sienna.
"Cousin..." Bella called out.
Adrian ignored her, put his arm around Sienna’s shoulder, and headed towards the Ticket Checkpoint. Once they were out of Bella’s sight, Sienna said, "That was Bella Ford."
"Hmm."
"Why would she be selling popcorn here?"
"Hmm."
Sienna glanced at Adrian, who frowned slightly. She realized he didn’t want to discuss Bella, so she tactfully kept quiet.
...
「At the movie theater,」
They sat in the back row. Adrian had bought all the seats around Sienna, so her immediate surroundings were empty. In fact, there were very few people in the entire theater. Sienna felt it was quite unnecessary.
"Do people in Abyanabad not like going to the movies?"
It was the weekend, so the theater should have been crowded. But she counted only about seven or eight people, including themselves. That was way too few.
"I’m not sure. This is my first time in a movie theater in Abyanabad."
Sienna looked at Adrian as if he were a strange creature. "You’ve never been?"
"Hmm."
Sienna asked leisurely while eating popcorn, "So what do you usually do for fun?"
"A man’s pastime."
Sienna paused, looking at Adrian’s handsome profile, and said, "The pastimes of men I’ve encountered usually involve eating, drinking, gambling, and prostitution. Sixth Master, which of these do you engage in?"
"I eat, drink, and gamble, but not prostitution. With looks like mine, am I paying them, or are they paying me?"
Sienna burst out laughing. "Can you not be so narcissistic?"
Adrian leaned closer, a charming smile on his face. "In the car earlier, didn’t you say I was handsome? Taking it back already?"
Sienna pushed Adrian’s face away. "Concentrate on the movie!"
The theater darkened. As the eerie subtitles appeared on the screen, Sienna felt the air around her grow colder.
This was a horror movie, and not just any horror movie—it was the Raelnian classic, *The Ring*. It had been popular during Sienna’s college days, but being timid, she had never watched it.
"Adrian, did you do this on purpose?"
Adrian held her in his arms and said smugly, "You can borrow my embrace."
She knew she should never expose her weaknesses to him; he would always take advantage of them. "Adrian, I swear, I’ll never let you know what I’m afraid of again!"
"Hush... The movie has started. Watch seriously."
No way I’m watching that, Sienna thought. If I do, I won’t sleep properly for days. It’ll traumatize me.
The movie started, and half of a little girl’s head suddenly filled the screen. In the otherwise silent theater, a young woman let out a startled cry of "Oh my god!" Her boyfriend immediately pulled her into his arms.
"Hey, don’t try to be brave. If you’re scared, you can hide in my arms..."
Sienna was scared, yes, but more than that, she was angry. She had a stubborn streak; if someone told her not to do something, she felt compelled to do it.
