Chapter 611: Chapter 652: The Night Owl Approaches Sienna Johnson (3)

"What do you want to know that for?"

Javier Jervois, wearing white gloves, picked up a milky-white bird’s nest. He never ate this stuff; he found it dirty.

Orientals sure have strange tastes.

"I’m an Oriental, and I’m not familiar with this place. If I buy this factory, it would be best if I could continue to employ the current workers."

When they acquired Frederick Pharmaceutical Factory, they also kept the original workers, and subsequent experience proved this to be an excellent approach.

"I’m not entirely sure about that, but if you’d like to know, I can ask around for you."

"Then I must thank you, Mr. Jervois."

Sienna was quite satisfied with this factory. Barring any unforeseen issues, she intended to purchase this bird’s nest processing plant.

"So, you’re planning to buy this factory?"

"I still need to discuss it with my husband before making a decision." Sienna didn’t dare commit fully.

"Well, if you’re satisfied, I can sell it to you at the lowest possible price! I doubt anyone in Abyanabad could offer a lower one."

"Mr. Jervois, rest assured, I won’t let you take a loss."

"Miss Johnson, you seem like a kind person. I trust you."

"I’ve finished touring the factory, so I’ll head back now. I’ll give you an answer as soon as possible." Sienna prepared to leave.

"It’s already noon. Why don’t I treat you to a meal? As you Orientals often say, ’Even if the deal isn’t done, our friendship remains,’ right? I have a very good impression of you, Miss Johnson. Would you do me the honor of having lunch with me?"

"I’m sorry, but my husband and I have arranged to have lunch together. Perhaps another time," Sienna declined.

"It seems Miss Johnson doesn’t like me."

"Mr. Jervois, you’re reading too much into it."

"Then please, join me for a meal. Abyanabad has many unique delicacies. I’m sure Miss Johnson hasn’t tried them yet."

Could I really say I don’t like Abyanabad’s food at all?

"Miss Johnson, I feel we’ve hit it off. Are you really unwilling to grant me this small favor?"

Since he’d put it that way, Sienna could only reply, "In that case, it would be rude to refuse."

"This way, please!"

The six-star Imperial Hotel in Abyanabad.

Upon entering the hotel lobby, one was immediately struck by the regal atmosphere. The atrium soared fifteen stories high, with towering marble columns inlaid with gold foil, gold-plated seats, and the dazzling reflections from crystal chandeliers, all combining to exude sheer opulence.

Sienna had spent some time in Abyanabad and had witnessed the economic development of this small, oil-rich nation.

According to the renowned "Fortune" magazine, the Sultan of Abyanabad was among the world’s wealthiest individuals, with a personal fortune exceeding 3.7 billion Westorian dollars. In Abyanabad, the grandest and most luxurious residence was the Imperial Palace; only The Empire Hotel & Country Club could compare in scale.

This was Sienna’s first visit to the Imperial Hotel.

"This place must be very expensive, mustn’t it? We could just find a casual spot to eat." Sienna hadn’t expected him to bring her to such an upscale establishment.

The waiters at the Imperial Hotel all wore custom-tailored uniforms. Patrons were dressed in suits or the traditional attire of the region.

Sienna, pregnant and in flat shoes, felt decidedly underdressed.

"If you want to taste authentic Abyanabad cuisine, this is naturally the place to come."

"But..."

"If you’re worried about the cost, don’t be. I’ll have money once I sell the factory..." He flashed her a sly smile, leaving Sienna at a loss for words.

This man really is a spendthrift.

Seeing a handsome man take their Madam to such an exclusive restaurant, clearly with ulterior motives, Tatu couldn’t help but worry. "Should we inform Sixth Master?" he asked.

"If you want to call him, you do it," Brett Jacobs said.

"Why not you?" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Because Sixth Master will definitely blow his top."

Unwilling to face Adrian Desmond’s wrath, Tatu could only watch Sienna and the pretty boy intently. "Forget it," he muttered. "We’ll just keep a close watch. If he dares to lay a finger on Madam, I’ll chop off his hands and feet."

"...Do you know why I studied medicine?" the man asked.

"Why?"

"Because of my sister. She’s been in poor health since childhood, so I wanted to become a doctor to cure her and help her live a healthy life. But ideals are always grand, and reality is always harsh."

Sienna glanced at the man again. He even understands some Oriental internet slang.

"Your sister will appreciate your devotion."

"Why did you study medicine?"

"My family owns a pharmaceutical factory. What else would I study?"

"Do you enjoy being a doctor?"

Sienna’s hand, holding her knife and fork, paused. "I do," she said softly.

"You can’t enjoy it that much, or you wouldn’t have given up being a doctor."

"Circumstances didn’t permit it."

"Those are just excuses! Don’t blame reality or other reasons. If you gave it up, it simply means it wasn’t that important to you."

Sienna couldn’t argue with him and could only nod in acquiescence.

"You look so young. Why did you marry so early?"

Since becoming pregnant, Sienna found herself easily famished. The Little Monster in her belly had a voracious appetite, causing her to eat even more than Adrian Desmond.

Sienna was enjoying a spicy, delicious Laksa. She glanced up at the man, who was barely eating and talking incessantly, and frowned. "It won’t taste good if it gets cold. You should eat."

"I’ve never seen a woman eat so much!"

"I’m pregnant!" Sienna declared, unapologetic about her appetite.

"Do you truly love the child in your womb?"

"Of course!" What an absurd question. What mother doesn’t love her child?

"It seems you love your husband very much."

"Yes."

"How much?"

"Very much."

"Enough to give your life for him?"

Sienna hesitated. The man chuckled. "It seems not that much, after all. At least, in your heart, your own life is more valuable than his."

Sienna couldn’t explain to him that it wasn’t about her life being more valuable than Adrian’s. Rather, she had too many attachments: her family, her child. If she died, she couldn’t be sure if Adrian would find another woman, or if that woman would be good to her child.

A dull ache throbbed in her heart. The thought of another woman by Adrian’s side, of her child calling someone else "Mom," made Sienna lose her appetite completely.

"Why have you stopped eating?"

"I’m full."

"And here I thought you could polish off everything on this table."

"You give me too much credit."

Sienna wiped her mouth. "I’ve finished. Can we leave now?"

The man rested his forehead in his hand. "But I haven’t even started eating yet."

"You talk too much."

"HAHA..."

"What are you laughing at?"

"I just find you very amusing."
