Chapter 163: Chapter 163: Clumsy Tactics

With the crisp sound of a clap, a tall and voluptuous figure dressed in a pitch-black gown walked in from the side door.

"Leader, I heard Luo Fei is back?"

Her steps were slow, her thick brows and eyes lightly raised as she glanced around the main hall, finally settling on Romande’s face, "Where is he?"

The familiar tone sounded as if she had a deep relationship with Luo Fei.

"There," Romande leaned back in his chair, his hand resting on the stone table, pointing across from him, "Injured. Thinking you haven’t seen each other for a while, it might be just right to catch up during the treatment."

A teasing flash crossed his eyes, his gaze moving slowly from the Little Winged Dragon’s head upward, fully capturing Wen Shu’s impassive expression.

That calm?

"Take him down, Awen, don’t let him die."

Romande urged in a low voice.

Upon hearing, the female named Awen looked at Wen Shu.

Seeing the Little Winged Dragon in her arms covered in scars, with even its rising and falling breath notably weak, she hurriedly approached, reaching out to take it.

"How did it get this injured?"

Wen Shu sidestepped to avoid, seeing clearly her furrowed brow, eyes filled with tears of heartbreak, a weird feeling emerged inside.

She seemed truly emotional, not like she was pretending...

And at this moment, Romande spoke eerily, "Wen Shu, you don’t need to worry."

He picked up a glass of wine, gently shook it a few times, spoke seemingly with a smile: "Awen grew up with your pet; she won’t harm him."

Hearing his words that imply a deeper meaning, Wen Shu suppressed her emotions, understanding what his sudden move meant.

Such clumsy testing, really treating her like a fool.

However, since there’s a need for treatment, the room they’re heading to must allow for superpowers, right?

This unfamiliar female holding onto Luo Fei was as unwilling to let go as Awen’s growing worries, and Romande just mentioned something about a pet?

This female and Romande are both no good!

"Give him to me."

A look of disgust flashed across her eyes, she moved quickly, intending to snatch him.

Wen Shu was surprised, this Awen was fast, clearly trained.

She couldn’t reveal herself, so when Awen came charging, she directly hid in Rah’s arms. As Awen was flung aside, she discreetly squeezed Rah’s arm.

"Give him to you?"

Wen Shu grabbed Luo Fei’s claw, waved it at Awen, and said sharply: "I wouldn’t feel safe. If you hide him away and don’t return him, who can I reason with?"

"Besides, it wouldn’t be fun if he died," she held Luo Fei, manipulating his limp head in distress: "Looks like I’ll have to go along, even if it means more work."

Her teasing actions inflamed Awen further.

Across from her, Romande scrutinized her domineering air, his fingers thoughtfully clasping under his chin.

Such a noisy and rude female.

Had he made a mistake in judgment? Or was her act too convincing...

Realizing she wanted to act alone, Rah beside her clutched the table corner tightly, stifling his inner worry, said in a deep voice: "Don’t play too much, I’ll be here waiting for you."

"Well, with nothing to do after the meal, and you two discussing cooperation, how boring!"

Wen Shu raised her brows with a smile, disregarding the castle master’s wishes as she naturally moved closer to Awen, "Let’s go, Awen."

Awen, under others’ control, awaited an indication.

Wen Shu followed her gaze to the enigmatic Romande, her eyes widened in disbelief, "Really? Just for treatment, you still need..."

Before she finished mumbling, Romande impatiently pursed his lips and said softly, "Go ahead, I’ll discuss some business with Leader Rah."

He used a silk cloth to wipe his fingertips, watching the two leave, a shadow passing through his eyes.

Just a female, even beyond the magnet’s control, can’t cause much trouble.

Moreover, someone was watching...

Following Awen, they left the main hall. Wen Shu cleared her throat, held the Little Winged Dragon tighter, speaking in a gentler tone, "Awen, what crime did this little one commit?"

She asked curiously, quietly observing her surroundings.

This castle had tight security. On the same floor, there were many patrol teams, and just with a glance, they recognized Luo Fei, their faces darkly intimidating.

Fearing they might suddenly act, Wen Shu pulled Luo Fei closer, trying her best to shield him.

"A very serious crime."

Awen saw her action, pushed open the large door at the end of the corridor, and led her into a spacious room, deliberately lowering her voice, "But it wasn’t him who did it."

Wen Shu’s brow twitched slightly, but she pretended not to hear, casually sitting by the bed, placed Luo Fei on it, fiddling with the curtains, "This place is quite beautiful."

She curved her brows and eyes, meeting Awen’s gaze, "Still not treating him?"

Awen lowered her eyes, stepped closer, held the Little Winged Dragon’s forelimbs, her long eyelashes trembling heartbrokenly, the palms emitting a green glow.

"Aren’t you curious about Luo Fei’s past at all?"

Another question.

Wen Shu felt uncomfortable since entering the room, like she was being watched all the time.

Awen wasn’t directly answering her questions, instead insisted on revealing some secrets, which was even more suspicious.

Wen Shu sneered inwardly, impatiently urging, "Curious about that for what? Just a pet. I want to go out to watch the sea tonight, can you hurry up?"

Her words were blunt, and Awen wasn’t any good-tempered either. She pursed her lips, suppressing her anger to examine Luo Fei’s injuries carefully.

All the bones were broken, probably there were severe internal injuries too, otherwise, why would he remain unconscious?

They’re all from the same mother, how could Romande be so cruel!

She must think of a way to get him out...

Awen intentionally delayed time, and Wen Shu saw through it; she couldn’t waste this rare opportunity.

"I need to go to the bathroom. To prevent you from playing tricks, treat him later."

She glanced at the corner bathroom, pushed Awen aside, grabbed Luo Fei, and ran into the bathroom, ignoring Awen’s angry shout.

Once the bathroom door was locked, those peering gazes finally disappeared.

Time was critical, Wen Shu concentrated her energy to heal the Little Winged Dragon, reconnecting the broken tendons and bones, and restoring the fractured internal organs back to normal.

Eyes tightly closed rolled slightly.

The eyelids slowly lifted, revealing blood-red eyes under the nictitating membrane and vertical pupils.

"Wen..."

His pupils reflected the beautiful face of the female, the flaring nostrils froze, the long black beak opened, but it was held shut tightly.

"Shh—"

Wen Shu shook her head, leaned closer to his ear, and whispered briefly what happened, "We need to escape."

She spoke seriously, then raised her head. The watery eyes of the Little Winged Dragon stayed glued to her face, its small body nestled in her arms.

Feeling that small excessively hot patch of heat, Wen Shu’s eyes flickered, and she unintentionally softened her tone, "Just pretend to sleep, okay?"

The Little Winged Dragon nodded its glossy black head slightly forward, those round eyes fixated on her.

As if if he blinked, the person in front would vanish.

Wen Shu needed to find the magnet’s location, looking around but, unfortunately, there were no windows in this room.

She had to wait until night to figure a way.

"Time to go out."

She whispered. The Little Winged Dragon hesitated for a few seconds before obediently closing his eyes, then couldn’t resist but open them again.

Wen Shu felt helpless, lifted her hand to close his eyelids, his hot head affectionately rubbed against her palm, "I really missed you..."

The trembling tail’s end felt like it scratched the tender flesh of her palm.

Wen Shu curled her fingertips, and then spread them vacantly, rubbing over the Winged Dragon’s hard little head, responding softly, "Mm."
