The CEO's Seductive Doll-Chapter 114: Into the Real World
"I’m really nervous," Eternity whispered jitterily as she stared out the window of the moving taxi. "What if they don’t like me?"
"Relax," Evan said soothingly, placing his hand on top of hers, which was resting on the car seat. "They’ll like you. Everyone who gets to talk to you does."
She shifted her gaze from the outside to Evan. Her moss-green eyes shined with hope and a soft gasp escaped her plump, pink lips.
"You really think so?"
Evan smiled gently and nodded, giving her hand a soft squeeze to assure her.
The taxi slowly came to a halt, signaling that they had already arrived at their destination: the RBAB headquarters. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Wait here for a sec," Evan said.
Before she could respond and ask him why, he got out of the taxi and went to the other side of the vehicle, opening the door for her.
"Welcome to Royal Blue." Evan smiled as he offered his hand, a sense of pride emitting from his tone and posture.
"My, aren’t you a gentleman today?" She teased him as she took his hand and headed out of the taxi.
"This only happens in a blue moon," Evan said sternly, although his eyes showed noticeable mirth. "Don’t expect more of this from me, Miss Doll."
"No worries," Eternity grinned, removing her hands from his. "I’m not expecting you to."
Of course, they both knew that Evan had been acting more gentlemanly because of her. He would never stop treating her like she was a queen, for she deserves such treatment.
But they also both knew that Evan shouldn’t act all friendly with Eternity while they were in the office. They didn’t want people to think that she pulled some strings to get into RBAB, the top brewery in the country.
Which Eternity actually did.
"Anyway," Evan said, shaking his head as he changed the topic. "I hope you do great on your first day of work."
"I’ll do my best," Eternity nodded with determination.

Earlier that day...
"Eternity,"
Long lashes fluttered open, revealing her brilliant moss-green eyes. It took her a moment to process that Evan was sitting on her bed, lightly shaking her shoulder to wake her up.
She sat up lazily and stretched her arms upward.
"Ev—" Just as she was about to say his name, a yawn escaped from her mouth.
He raised an eyebrow in her direction. A mixture of confusion and amazement can be seen in his expression.
"Do you legitimately have the need to yawn or was that performative just to imitate humans?"
But Eternity was too groggy to reply to his question. She rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand before finally focusing her attention on him.
"Evan," She tried again. This time, her attempt was successful. "Good morning. Why’d you wake me up? it’s only—"
She glanced at the digital clock on top of the nightstand, squinting to read the numbers.
"It’s only 6 AM." She finished and returned her gaze back to Evan.
"Yes, it’s 6 already," Evan said, a hint of excitement evident in his voice. "You still have time to prepare."
She knitted her eyebrows together in confusion.
"Prepare for what?" She asked innocently.
Evan flashed a toothy smile, as if he was waiting for this exact moment to happen.
"For your first day at RBAB, of course."

"I’ll leave you in the HR department’s capable hands," Evan said as he gestured at the entrance of what seemed to be a conference room.
"L-leave me?" Eternity stuttered a little too loudly, causing random office workers passing by to look at them in curiosity.
However, Evan wasn’t sure if it was her loudness or her beauty that made them look.
"You’ll be fine," he assured. "Have more faith in yourself."
"B-b-but!" She tried to argue, but her nervousness was taking a toll on her speech.
’How adorable,’ Evan thought as he bit back a smile from forming on his lips. ’This reminds me of when we first met.’
"Oh, good morning, Sir Holz!" An energetic voice greeted, his loudness echoing in the vast hallway.
Upon hearing the loud voice, Evan’s gentle expression, reserved only for Eternity’s eyes, morphed into a scowl.
"Good morning, Jakob." He nodded coolly at Jakob’s approaching form. Trailing behind him was a line of what looked like innocent, fresh university graduates. "Is this the newly hired batch?"
Jakob smiled enthusiastically and spoke in his usually fast and borderline slurred speech.
"I’m assisting them in getting to the conference room for their orientation. They were loitering in packs around the lobby and unsure where to go, so I decided to help them—oh?" He stopped from his hyper-fast speaking. "Hello, there. I’ve never seen you before."
Eternity blinked cluelessly before pointing at herself, realizing belatedly that Jakob was talking to her.
"Yes, apparently, she also introduced herself to me as one of the new hires." Evan, ever such a reliable liar, came to her rescue. "She was also lost and looking for the conference room for the orientation, and she just so happened to stumble on me."
Jakob gave Eternity a look, a mixture of both disbelief and amusement.
"What are the chances that of all people you could ask for directions on your first day was the CEO of Royal Blue himself!"
The line of new hires behind him gasped and lowered their heads in respect to Evan. Eternity took it as her cue to follow their lead and act all surprised and terrified of the CEO.
"No worries," Evan shook his head and gestured at them to stop bowing. "I’m just glad that we’re having more recruits, who I’m sure will contribute to a brighter future for this company."
They all finally raised their heads. Some of them had looks on their faces as if Evan’s words encouraged them. While some of them still refused to look at Mister Evanescence Holz, their eyes half-lidded with nervousness.
He then turned his attention to Eternity, maintaining a firm tone he rarely used when speaking to her but it was his default one when he was at work.
"I didn’t catch your name, miss?" He feigned ignorance, just for formalities.
"Doll, Sir." Eternity replied promptly. "Eternity Doll."
